Every since I was a little girl i have always wanted to become a veterinarian. I have had animals my whole life and i’ve always loved helping them. I am a active member in 4H, FFA, and the national Maine Anjou Association. I show cows every weekend almost all over Florida and they push me to have a veterinarian career even more because I love being around them so much and I enjoy giving them shots of medication, and if they were to get hurt I like being the one to fix it. A few years ago my horse ripped open his mouth and it was a weekend and early in the morning to we couldn’t get ahold of anyone or go to stores. I went in my vet kit got some lidocaine on the wound and started to stitch it up once i scrubbed it clean. I used to volunteer at a vet clinic for a few years and just being their made me want to work even harder to become a veterinarian even sooner. So, as of right now i’m still in high school and i’ll be graduating high school in 2024 with my Associates in Arts degree because i’m doing the dual enrollment program and going to the College of Central Florida over the last two summer and through out last school year and this upcoming school year. So, i’m working extra hard to achieve my goals faster. Choosing to study veterinary medicine is a decision rooted in a deep love for animals and a desire to make a difference in their lives. This field offers the opportunity to combine a passion for science and medicine with the rewarding work of caring for animals. Once i’m a vet, I will provide medical care, promote animal welfare, and contribute to public health. One of the main reasons to I have chose veterinary medicine is the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Whether it's healing a pet, treating a farm animal, or saving an endangered species, the work of a vet has significant impact. It's a fulfilling career that combines intellectual challenge with emotional reward. Additionally, veterinary medicine is a diverse field with many areas to specialize in, from small animal practice to wildlife conservation, research, and public health. This diversity means there's always room to grow, learn, and find new challenges. As for what I hope to accomplish with a degree in veterinary medicine, my goal is to contribute to animal welfare and conservation. I plan to use my skills and knowledge to provide excellent medical care for animals, educate pet owners on preventive care, and advocate for the protection of wildlife and their habitats. I also hope to contribute to the broader field of veterinary medicine through research. I'm particularly interested in studying emerging diseases that can jump from animals to humans. By understanding these diseases, we can not only protect animal health, but also contribute to human health and the wellbeing of our planet. The person who had impacted my life is my dad and that’s because he has always supported me and helped me every step of the way when it comes to my future career. He has bought me vet supplies to keep on hand, he has helped me stitch up animals, give them shots, and even helped me find vet clinics to volunteer at. If it wasn’t for him i wouldn’t be where i’m at. He also puts up with my cattle addiction.
