My name is Elizabeth; my life goal is to help people. I am extremely passionate when it comes to helping others no matter who they are. My careers of interest are the education system, journalism, counselor, missions work, and clinical phycology.
In my free time I enjoy singing and writing music. Singing will always be near and dear to my heart because I’ve been singing since I was eight years old. I like to showcase my singing through streaming apps, talent competitions, and in church.
I consider myself to be an avid reader. I enjoy reading the biographies of recent political figures the most. I very much enjoy writing comprehensive book reviews not only to strengthen my writing skills but also to create another platform of information.

I always had trouble reading and writing in school. It wasn't till my grandma stood up for me that I was finally able to reach my education potential. She was my advocate in my inspiration. She put me into home schooling and became my teacher. Shortly after my grandma took me in I did better because she believed in me. I have always felt a burden from my brother who has autism.
He was extremely smart and still is but no one ever really gave him a chance. People would say because he had autism that he needed multiple people to watch over him in school. When that simply wasn't true he had so much potential. For example when I was in middle school he read at a higher level than I did.
Throughout my childhood I witnessed my brother's education being left on the back burner and only I was moving forward. Although I was proud of my accomplishments I felt a guilt that I was able to do what he could not. I often wished I was the one with autism and no him.
It was heartbreaking for me but but I knew that I needed to be an advocate for those with autism. I've always loved kids and I've always had a passion for working with them.
So I think mentoring and educating kids is important especially for those with special needs. I think the only thing that really helped my brother was the fact that he looked up to me. He would go through my school books and read with me.
I think the proper education and mentoring can grow a kid's character, give them job opportunities, and give them confidence. During recent years I've seen my brother's his confidence and his communication skills go downhill. This is why I think education is needed for every kid And that it should be easily accessible for every kid.
Accessibility is the main culprit of my brother's lack of education. I want to make education for people especial needs more available. I want the cost to be lower, the teachers to be more open to children, and less requirements put on these children. I do understand the safety of teachers but these kids are mentally challenged not a danger. I do think they deserve the same chances and opportunities as every other kid.
This is why my goal is to become a special education teacher. That eventually works my way up and is able to have a say in how we educate our children who are so special. Those children that cannot advocate for themselves because they physically cannot and everyone has given up on them. I want to be a light for those children and a voice for not only them with there parents as well. I want to be what my grandma was for me, an advocate.
Surya Education Assistance Scholarship
I am passionate to receive my education since it will lead me to my future goals, understand complex ideas, and I will be able to help people. Education has always been one of the most important things to me. I grew up on the quote “Knowledge is power”. My level of education could have the power to change the world, so it is not something to take lightly.
I am passionate about my education since it will help me achieve my future goals. My future goals include becoming an RN with a BSN, going onto the mission field, and writing a book. To achieve my goals once I have the proper education, I would like to be in the Med/Surg Unit. Once I earn the necessary bedside experience I wish to move to the Psychiatric Unit. After I have all certifications needed the next step in my journey would be going on mission trips to offer the expertise I will have in nursing. I plan on writing books on my journeys to encourage young women to help those who are not as fortunate as we are in America.
Understand complex ideas so I will be able to dive deeper into my career. My favorite from 50 Psychology Classics explains that to have creativity on a subject matter you must first master the subject. This will prepare me for my career in many ways. So much so I will be able to branch out in my field such as being a clinical psychologist. I want to be able to make psychiatric hospitals made for those patients. I want it to be their sanctuary. I also want to create therapy types that do not rely on more effective medications.
The opportunities are endless I will be able to help people through mental and physical attacks. It’s freeing and takes my mind off of myself and on others.
That is my ultimate life goal and what I do naturally. I long to help people through their trials and tribulations. I want to give back. I cannot make the environment better, but I can make people’s coping devices better. I can also help bring inner peace and tranquility. I want to put an end to debilitating mental diseases such as depression, anxiety, and crippling fear. I want to help people cope with the trauma they have experienced after life-changing events such as war, hate crimes, bullying, loss of a loved one, and change of life. I want to help those that feel trapped in their bodies such as those suffering from Alzheimer's, schizophrenia, and dementia. I want to be a shining light that helps those with all different types of needs.
In conclusion, I am passionate about getting my education since it will help me achieve my goals, understand complex ideas, and be able to help people.
My education will be the foundation for a successful life that is ahead of me.
I will never stop learning, never stop dreaming, and never stop trying to change the world for the better. Will you be the one to help a young, determined lady reach her dreams?
Bold Bravery Scholarship
I practice living with bravery and boldness by trying not to be afraid to try new hobbies, getting out of my comfort zone, and by wanting to go to the mission field.
I am bold by trying new hobbies such as painting, making jewelry, crafts from different vacation spots, writing books, and writing poems. I’m that person that is never afraid to try a new thing at least once. Even if it means getting a little dirty. Something I found I really enjoyed was skateboarding. It was definitely outside of the box for me, but it ended up being something I like doing a lot.
The most important thing is to always be open to getting out of your comfort zone. That is my number one rule to being bold. I like being given a little push to end up doing something great. I especially love to do this when it comes to volunteer projects. This is great since it gives me a sense of purpose and stretches my ability to what I didn’t think was possible.
Lastly, I am bold because of my big dreams that I intend to make a reality. My dream is to help people that are less fortunate than me so what better way to do that than to go across the world and spread the gospel. I would like to use those experiences I have to encourage others to go to the mission field.
In conclusion, I live boldly by trying new hobbies, getting out of my comfort zone, and by not being afraid to go into the mission field. I will continue being bold with these goals in mind: writing many books and challenging myself by going out of my comfort zone.
Bold Optimist Scholarship
Being optimistic can be hard especially when being surrounded by negative or even realistic people. I have always been more of a dreamer. For me, I saw tough times but ultimately see a rainbow instead.
I started working during the pandemic when Covid hit a plateau. There were thirty-seven rooms so thirty-seven possibilities for covid with only up to seven of those being filled. I was a part of support services, so I was responsible for cleaning patient rooms while patients were still in the room. At this point, I understood the risk I was taking actively putting myself in a dangerous situation. I was not only concerned for my health but also concerned I would bring it home to my family.
I thought about how the whole floor could once again become covid, but it wasn’t real until seven became ten rooms then ten became twenty-five. It was a rampant growth that seemed to happen overnight giving staff little time to prepare. So how did I keep optimistic? Simply, I would joke around and have fun with the ladies on my floor. We create a sisterhood no one was left behind. Teamwork was our goal so we’d often complete tasks together. Not forgetting to joke around by singing songs from Dirty Dancing and swooning over Patric Swayzee. I’d often make the joke that I looked like an off-brand ghost buster in my ridiculous oversized PPE.
Eventually, the covid cases decreased and we were back to our normal, well almost. We ended the pandemic by being a stronger team and building an unbreakable sisterhood.
Bold Deep Thinking Scholarship
The biggest problem in today’s society is the fact everyone has their faces buried in technology, especially phones. They can have bad effects since we have too much dependency on them, we are not used to regular communication, and we are too used to having everything at our fingertips.
Today making personal connections is hard. Especially since wherever you go everyone is always on their phones. This can be taxing to society and has shown to be an issue mainly for newer generations. It can cause medical problems such as headaches, fatigue, neck pain, bad posture leading to back pain, and straining of the eyes. It can also lead to mental abuse such as online bullying, threats, body shaming, and young girls not feeling good about their bodily appearance. Most importantly it can have strong social applications that can be harmful to society as a whole such as hate crimes, porn sites, human trafficking, racism, and even unhealthy relationship building.
Some ways to fix these problems are not that simple. For one thing, having kids take a break from technology is important. Also, be sure we are not introducing them to technology for too long. For teens, it may be appropriate to download software that alerts parents of foul language and pictures. Even adults need to take special care such as plugging in devices downstairs away from the bedroom, taking breaks from social media, taking the time to spend with family, and plenty of exercise. A great thing for all would be just to get out of the house to get socialization and put themselves in uncomfortable situations to grow their socialization skills. In conclusion the biggest problem the world is facing is technology being the forefront of many lives.
James Turner Second Chance Scholarship
In five years I will be fresh out of college and ready to start my career it's very exciting really! By then I am hoping to know exactly what field I would like to go into. I am leaning the most toward counseling especially those to foreign counties so I can go on mission trips frequently. Nursing has also been on my heart for a while especially because of my mom. The year 2021, as for most, was a rough year not just for me but also for my mom.
That is when she was diagnosed for breast cancer for the third time (starting in 2017). I was definitely hard instead of just removing the lump they had to take the whole breast. It was worrisome since I would also feel grape-like bumps in my breast too. I was trying to be strong, finish my senior year in high school, and work an eight-hour job four to five days a week. Needless to say, I am not sure how I made it if it were not for the support system I have, my job, and God I would have not been able to help out as much as I did with so much grace. This is why I want to help people. I think physically it is important but also mentally. The hardest thing for my mom wasn’t her physical pain but her emotional. So I want to help people and be a light so they can learn how to survive any mental or physical challenge.
Bold Great Books Scholarship
Books are a way for me to tap into a different world, to see clearly what I have often missed, and to find a central peace. I was that lonely homeschool kid; did not have a lot of friends, consistently studied, and dare I say missed out on the fun by growing up too fast. Books were and always will be my company.
My favorite book changes every month, but currently, my favorite book is For Such a Time as This by Kayleigh McCananey. The reason that For Such a Time as This is my favorite is because it gave perspective in a confusing time and it gave me comfort as the daughter of a breast cancer patient.
Kayleigh was the press secretary to President Donald J. Trump. This was a time when journalists tried to twist the truth about the covid pandemic, the death of George Floyd, Police brutality, and Trump’s basic policies to impeach him out of spite. In her book, she offered a true perspective while also revealing how the administration dealt with loss, a pandemic, and fighting the consistent accusations of the radical left.
This book also gave me comfort in being the daughter of a breast cancer patient. Came at a good time since I’m about to take the BRCA test. Gave me a sense of strength knowing that if I do have the gene it does not have power over my success.
In conclusion For Such a Time as This by Kayleigh McCananey is my favorite book because it gave perspective in a confusing time and it gave me comfort as the daughter of a breast cancer patient.
Bold Creativity Scholarship
I often am known as the bookworm, an emotional closed-off logical thinker. That is contrary to the fact I often just have a hard time expressing how I feel due to having trouble trusting others. So, I express creativity by writing how I feel. I use this to get out any fears, doubts, and feelings of loneliness.
This love of writing gives me a break from consistent analysis and research and gives me a chance to reflect on feelings rather than facts. It brings me joy to know these songs could help others through hard times.
Bold Selfless Acts Scholarship
To be committed to being compassionate we must be willing to be aware of others' needs and to put others before ourselves.
Often the only reason someone isn’t compassionate is because they aren’t focused on others but rather themselves. Our minds can get flooded with what we have to do that day, what we are doing, and what needs to be done. One way to avoid this is to simply let other people in and be more aware of your surroundings.
One way I like to help out is at my work. One day I had finished all of my task for the day, and I had noticed that some leaders needed to move many IV poles down to be recycled. Even though it was not my job I offered to help. Helping is easy since for me when I see a need available, I have a longing to fill that need.
To be selfless it is also important to put others before myself. This could be taking the time to do the dishes without being asked or even compromising your schedule to help others. It is all about compromise, you could pack your schedule or be able to move it around to help those in need. To show compassion you could give money but the most important and meaningful thing you can give is time. In conclusion, I show compassion and selflessness mainly in my place of work. To be compassionate we all must be willing to be aware of others needs and put ourselves before others.
Bold Hobbies Scholarship
My favorite hobbies include singing, writing songs and poems, and making jewelry. Due to my busy schedule I don't often get the time I would like to do the things I love but when I do get that time I enjoy it.
Singing and writing songs has always been a way for me to express myself. I have a hard time getting vulnerable and showing my weaknesses but writing has given me the chance to do so in a safe space. The songs that I write are freeing since it can also help others feel less alone. Lately since I’ve been working eight hour shifts I have been putting my writing into poems and songs. This is often the best option since I tend to get home late and don’t want to wake anyone up.
The most rewarding thing for me is to do things for other people since I love to see others smile. So most recently I have been making Clay earrings and painting pictures for the ladies at my work. This is the most calming thing I have done so far. It’s rewarding to make something with your hands that people can Cherish.
In conclusion when I have the time my favorite things to do include singing, writing, making jewelry, and painting.
Bold Hope for the Future Scholarship
God's promises give me hope for the future. Specifically, His promises for
Strength, protection, and peace of mind.
God will give me strength through the storms of life because of this verse and many verses of the Bible like this one: “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” Corinthians 12:9 so I should not be afraid of any scary situations life may throw my way. Even sayings from authors show His unending strength such as one from Crystal McDowell "He gives us the strength to move forward even though we feel weak.”
He will also protect me “ The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long.” - Deuteronomy 33:12
Lastly, He gives me peace of mind: “He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints.” - Psalm 85:8. “Your faith has saved you, go in peace” Luke 7:50. I know this for a fact is true since before God worked in my life I suffered from bad anxiety, worry, and even some depression. During a summer camp while praying God would take away my fear of life He did. I simply just looked down and my nervous shaking was suddenly gone and hasn't come back since.
How do I know all of these things are true? I know He keeps His promises since He has already kept far more important ones such as my place in heaven and that His son died on the cross for me.
Most importantly whatever happens here on earth is not permanent. Pain, hurt, and sickness will be gone in heaven and my Lord and Savior will have a mansion for me in heaven. In conclusion, I have hope for the future since God promises me as a child of God to give me strength, protection, and peace of mind.
Bold Meaning of Life Scholarship
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” - 1 Corinthians 13:13 The meaning of life is love. To achieve love, I need to put others before me, be bold and meet new people, be intentional with relationships, have a good relationship with God, and know what I want in a partner.
Before I achieve love there are some things, I need to work on personally such as healing from my dad leaving, trusting more, and learning how to open up to the right people. To find the love I will need to achieve the following: Be bold and meet new people, be intentional with the relationships I make, and most important Have a good relationship with God. Specifically, to find the love of my life I will need to know what I want and how to recognize this quality.
To be closer to God I will simply need to, obey, talk to Him daily, and listen to Him in the still moments. Finding a life partner can be difficult especially in today’s culture when people put on an act. This can make it hard to figure out a person's true behavior, but when you have a good relationship with God, He will keep you safe and tell you when someone is not who they say. Since only God knows the heart.
In conclusion, to achieve finding love by Being bold and meeting new people, being intentional with the relationships I make, and most important Having a good relationship with God. Before I do find the love I need to work on healing from my dad leaving, trusting more, and learning how to open up to the right people.
Bold Talent Scholarship
My talents include writing and singing both of which require determined practice to develop the skills needed. For writing, I practice different forms of writing such as songs, poems, and research poems. Much of honing in on my writing skill is simply analyzing how other writers express their ideas. My favorite writer to analyze is Sue Monk Kidd since she expresses complex ideas in simple terms that everyone can understand, is in touch with her emotions, and expresses the difference between fact and opinion.
For singing, I practice by warming up my voice using vocal warm-ups that have theatrical and opera roots, singing in the choir, and harmonizing with songs on the radio. The biggest thing about singing is to not focus on how technical to be but how to convey your emotions honestly.
The most important thing to me is that I use my talents to glorify God.
Bold Best Skills Scholarship
The best way to see improvement is to see where you have been.
The skill that I have been working on is singing, I have been singing since I was eight years old. I started out with musical theater songs and classic blues songs such as Ella Fitzgerald. Once I mastered the basics of singing, I went on to do musical theaters only to then branch out into the church. I did solos, joined the choir, and even played and sang in the praise band. Then I started writing my own music and discovering music theory.
Recently I have been working on perfecting my vocal strength by learning Italian, Latin, and German opera. I started with a Latin chorus now to singing out Ave Maria every time I get the chance. The next step for me is to work more in a group setting by joining another choir. Harmonization takes time and practice that requires others around to help. I am excited to see what will come next and how I will integrate this skill into my career.
Bold Legacy Scholarship
The legacy I want to leave behind is being known as being a caring nurse, detailed researcher, loving wife, and knowledgeable mother. I want to be the kind of nurse that speaks for her patients when they cannot speak for themselves. That can figure out their needs promptly and can perform well under pressure. I want to be a light in a time when they are suffering. I also would like to be known for research in the medical field specifically for topics that aren't explored. Such as the effects a full moon has on psych patients. I'd like to create true change using data and common knowledge while getting patients' input on current situations.
I would like to be known as being a loving wife that supports her husband and works with him to accomplish both of our goals. I want to be someone that grows with the other person, communicates, and doesn't give up when times are tough. I want to give my all. I want to be the mother that helps her children grow in the Lord. I want to teach them to thrive in the world and not to be terrified of the world since God is their protector. I want to teach them how to respect, love, and honor in a world that frowns upon these things. I want to teach them to be selfless, kind, and sincere in a world that is.
In conclusion, I want to be known for being a nurse, researcher, wife, and mother. Most importantly, I want to be known as a Child of God. I want my words and actions to radiate Christ Jesus that died on the cross for me. When I die someday, I want to hear my Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful servant".
Freddie L Brown Sr. Scholarship
I saw a tattered flag
worn from the wind and frost
But realized it was just a sign
Of what America has now lost.
Worn tattered and broken
Is it beyond repair?
If only we would realize
How long it took to get there.
Not proud of our heritage
Trying hard to hide it.
Not collaborating
The government has separated us entirely.
Worn tattered and broken
Is it beyond repair?
Nothing really is
If only we would see
what it took to get there.
Bold Generosity Matters Scholarship
“Be compassionate as your Father is compassionate.” You can be generous in many different ways with many different tools. You can be generous with money, words, and (my personal favorite) time. Generosity is very important to me. Generosity is being kind without a reason, helping instead of hurting, and being sensitive to those around you. It does not mean stomping on others when they are down, being rude, or discouraging those around us. The reasons I show generosity are to be a light in a cruel world and to be closer to God
This world is truly a cruel place, do we need another way to hurt or tear people down? We need to be uplifting to people since we never know what kind of hurt they can be going through. They could be dealing we a myriad of things like loss, body image, and even a bad family situation. A kind gesture, expression, or even word could make someone’s hurt have a little less sting.
Generosity is also important to me because God commanded it. This command not only benefits my relationship with Him but also my relationship with others. I want to show the same selfless love to everyone just like Jesus Christ showed love to everyone.
In conclusion, the reasons I show generosity is to be a light in a cruel world, to be closer to God. What the world needs most is generosity.
Bold Speak Your Mind Scholarship
Speaking your mind comes at a price. In today's society speaking your mind is not well known and can actually be frowned upon. Most don't speak their mind in order to stay in good graces with a boss, to not hurt someone's feelings, or don't just out of fear.
I like to speak my mind. To me being direct is often the only way to accomplish what you want. So often people beat around the bush life is too short to do so.
I speak my mind with the intent to help a citation. I am often careful with my word choice and tone since often it's not what you say but how you say it.
To conclude I want to share what it was like when I did not speak up in a time of adversity. When I was working at a fast-food establishment there was an employee with special needs. Sadly he was mistreated by all of the employees. He was either given a pity smile, made fun of, or just ignored. This hit me close to my heart since my brother also has special needs. If I would've spoken up I could've changed the situation. This is why I will always speak my mind from now on.
Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
The phrase fake it till you make it is valid for most but not to me. I am working on my confidence with little things since little things are often what means the most. I grew up being the shy kid, terrified to cross the street, and talk to those who I wasn’t familiar with. Most people thought I was either uptight or just a sheltered homeschooler. Because of this confidence is extremely important to me. The work I have put into my confidence over the years has enabled me to sing in public, talk to almost everyone I meet, and be bold as soon as I walk out the door. The three things I find that give me the most confidence are knowledge, experience, and posture.
Knowledge and experience often go hand in hand. When both of these are acquired, I often have an understanding of what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. This boosts my confidence since I can instruct others on how to do what I do. My posture often affects my confidence positively. The small gesture of just rolling my shoulders back, walking with purpose and strength, and keeping my head up
In the rare event, none of these things work music is my way of regaining confidence. I often turn to the powerhouses of the 90s to gain confidence such as Christina Aguilera, Alisha Keys, and Beyonce. My go-to song is “This Girl is on Fire” by Alisha Keys. Because of my confidence, I am sure of myself. I know exactly what I want for my future and how I will achieve such goals. I laugh without fear of the future knowing my plans are sound but also knowing my confidence will take me anywhere I could imagine.
Bold Simple Pleasures Scholarship
The simplest things are often what makes the day worth wild, these carry the happiness while the big pleasures are still lingering. The small things can also be the most entertaining. These small pleasures include the cool air blowing against my cheek while walking into work. This often calms me and gets me into a state of focus. Working in a hospital requires focus but also requires one to be able to find a sense of calm in some of the hardest situations possible. Another little thing that calms me is when it starts to rain. I often find this is the best time to read and write. I do not have to even watch the rain just to hear the pitter-patter of the raindrops is serene enough. Often this is the best time to break out the hot tea and a good book to read under the sparkling fairy lights.
Often it is just the easiest to get away, the best simple pleasures include those on the beach. Every year my family and I go to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. It is truly amazing there the sunsets are the piece de resistance. The waves crashing into the shore are the only alarm clock in sight. The sunrise and sunsets are breathtaking. While watching the sunset the only thing that is on your mind is taking in that moment. All of a sudden, all your problems disappear, and you are left with peace.
These are just a few of the little things in life that bring me joy. Often these little things lead to an abundance of joy throughout life.
Environmental Impact Scholarship
The problem I have found in society is the many people trapped either mentally ill, trapped in their own bodies, and those who do not have direct access to healthcare. I plan to fix both of those problems while encouraging new nurses into the field. I have a series of goals to achieve to make that dream a reality. My future goals include becoming an RN with a BSN. First, I would like to be in the Med/Surg Unit. Once I earn the necessary bedside experience I wish to move to the Psychiatric Unit. After I have all certifications needed, I would love to go on mission trips periodically to offer the expertise that I will have in nursing. I plan on writing books on my journeys to encourage young women to help those who are not as fortunate as we are in America.
I plan to achieve this goal in the next 12-15 years. First of all, when I graduate high school, I will apply for medical assistant at a local hospital. In between my graduation and the start of my spring semester at Ivy tech I will be taking classes to get my CNA. I plan to take my prerequisites at Ivy Tech and then transfer to IU to finish my degree. After I graduate from college, I will move up at my place of work to get 5-7 years of bedside while taking courses for the mission field. Once I have my BSN and all other required licenses and courses, I will find a local mission organization that needs an RN.
I plan to fund these goals in many different ways including hard work, investing, and fundraising. I would very much appreciate a starting boost so I can make my dreams a reality. All I want is to inspire young nurses to reach outside their comfort zone so they can go help those less fortunate than us. This is just my dream but soon it will all fabricate. Will you help a determined young lady reach her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse?
Bold Reflection Scholarship
My name is Elizabeth LeBrun. I am a senior in high school getting ready for my spring semester of college. I work in a local hospital to save up for my education and also to earn experience working in the field. My desired field of study is nursing. I plan on becoming a Psychiatric RN with a BSN. Being a nurse means the absolute world to me. I am willing to do whatever it takes to be that can change the sadness in the room to joy. I want to have the best technique possible while also being personable. I plan to make an impact with my future career in nursing is after I get my BSN, I plan on periodically going to the mission field. I want to help those that do not have easy access to healthcare.
My mother's diagnosis of breast cancer shaped my hopes for the future. She was diagnosed with breast cancer which later came back in early 2020. The care she had received from certain medical practices left her with neuropathy and increased sensitivity to previous allergies. I almost lost her to this disease so instead of trembling in fear I want to make a difference in healthcare. I want to be able to give alternative treatments that are less invasive with better results. I believe because of this experience in my life it will make me a well-informed and caring nurse. My hope is I will be able to inspire young girls like me to shoot for the stars by writing a book of my experiences as a nurse.
Bold Goals Scholarship
My future goals include becoming an RN with a BSN. First I would like to be in the Med/Surg Unit. Once I earn the necessary bedside experience I wish to move to the Psychiatric Unit. After I have all certifications needed I would love to go on mission trips periodically to offer the expertise that I will have in nursing.
The main purpose of writing books is to inspire young nurses to reach outside their comfort zone so they can go help those less fortunate than us. This is just my dream but soon it will all fabricate. Will you help a determined young lady reach her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse?
Minority/Women in STEM Scholarship
I believe I am in the true minority of wanting to pursue my education in STEM, especially since nursing is sadly not considered to be STEM by some. Therefore, that means scholarships are extremely hard to find. It quite surprises me that it is not since nursing does require the need to apply math, biology, and technology day to day in a hectic environment.
The true feeling of being in the minority comes from the fact that STEM is not defined well enough; it is quite an umbrella term that makes certain benefits rather challenging to find.
Another challenge I have faced while working my way to starting Med school is that the support seems little. I have had coworkers call me crazy for wanting to work in such a hard environment. I have even had nurses try to convince me to pick another major. Not many people understand I like a good challenge. No matter how difficult there is nothing my drive cannot accomplish. I am willing to face any difficulties in the field of nursing to help people. Even the difficulty of fighting for advocacy. Nursing is a STEM field and a very important field as well. Most STEM majors would not be able to carry out their goals if it were not for nursing.
Bold Self-Care Scholarship
Being that I work in healthcare it is extremely important to separate yourself from the unit and take a deep breath. I have quite a few ways to relax but here are some of my favorite ways to do so. On the weekends I spend the night at my grandparent's house so I can go to church with them. One weekly tradition we have established is to watch a movie. It seems rather simple, but the fact of the matter is it helps me sleep and gives us all something to discuss in the morning during breakfast.
When I’m not at my grandparent’s house I have found different ways to relax. One of my favorite ways is an at-home spa day this includes all the essentials such as a face mask, hair mask, bubble baths, and exfoliants. A spa day is not complete without some way of entertainment. I enjoy reading books from my favorite authors such as Elizabeth Barret Browning while soaking in the tub. While I am doing other self-care activities, I enjoy listening to records from musicians such as Elvis Presley and Janis Joplin.
The last way I like to relax is exercising. It tends to keep me focused grounded while giving me the time to breathe. Specifically, I enjoy walking to the nearest park and doing yoga. These activities have not only helped me relax but have also given me the time to contemplate my goals in life in a calm setting. I cannot write the essay without mentioning the one relationship that keeps my mental health in good condition. That relationship is with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He keeps me calm with the promises He gives and gives me a sense of peace knowing that He has a plan for my life.
Richard Neumann Scholarship

Once I have my BSN and all other required licenses and courses, I will find a local mission organization that needs an RN.
I plan to fund these goals in many different ways including hard work, investing, and fundraising. I would very much apricate a starting boost so I can make my dreams a reality. All I want is to inspire young nurses to reach outside their comfort zone so they can go help those less fortunate than us. This is just my dream but soon it will all fabricate. Will you help a determined young lady reach her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse?
Dashanna K. McNeil Memorial Scholarship
My name is Elizabeth LeBrun I am a senior in high school getting ready for my spring semester of college. I work in a local hospital to save up for my education and also to earn experience working in the field. My hobbies include writing, singing, reading, playing guitar, and making jewelry.
My desired field of study is nursing. I plan on becoming a Psychiatric RN with a BSN. Being a nurse means the absolute world to me. I am willing to do whatever it takes to be that can change the sadness in the room to joy. I want to have the best technique possible while also being personable. The biggest way I plan to make an impact with my future career in nursing is after I get my BSN, I plan on periodically going to the mission field. I want to help those that do not have easy access to healthcare. It will be a challenge, but I am ready for that challenge
The main reason I am interested in the field is because of my mother. In 2017 she was diagnosed with breast cancer that later came back in early 2020. The care she had received from certain medical practices left her with neuropathy and increased sensitivity to previous allergies. I almost lost her to this disease so instead of trembling in fear I want to make a difference in healthcare. I want to be able to give alternative treatments that are less invasive with better results. I believe because of this experience in my life will make me a well-informed and caring nurse.
I am known as being an avid reader but I’d have to say that no story has shaped my life goals like the one I am currently experiencing daily. Hearing patients talk about their lives is an incredible opportunity that I will be forever grateful for. In the future, there will be a book I hold in higher regard. I plan on writing a book based on my journey to becoming a nurse.
Bold Passion Scholarship
I am extremely passionate about many things but what I enjoy the most is writing and reading. I often find myself simply lost in a good book. It is my way of traveling to other worlds without a ticket or bus fare. This trip only involves two things: a good imagination and a comfortable setting. I enjoy reading in a dimly lit corner of my room decked out with delicately hung fairy lights. I prefer to read in the afternoon when it is quiet. The best time to read is when I hear the pitter-patter of a spring storm rolling through. My passion for reading falls directly into my passion for writing. I often enjoy research projects.
Recently I have been preparing to do a physiology paper on an individual named Anna Delvey. The German citizen is responsible for scamming US banks out of over 50 million dollars without even a bit of remorse verbalized while in federal custody. These kinds of stories are what I would like to bring to public attention while also writing my own. Sometimes the best stories are not ones that are not already written but the ones that are being fabricated. That’s why I look forward to writing my own book about my travels in the field of nursing.

Lo Easton's “Wrong Answers Only” Scholarship
I deserve this scholarship since I am an entitled white girl that deserves my opportunities to be handed to me without me working for them. Another reason I deserve this is because I need emotional support from piggybacking off my mom's cancer to win scholarships. That's been so hard for me I deserve some kind of trophy for that.,
My academic goals include sitting around in my friends' pajamas, barley paying attention in class, and not lifting a figure my whole first semester. Btw this scholarship is already compromising my last goal how disrespectful. I guess you'll have to deal with my text lingo TTYLXOX.
The hardest thing I encountered was being blocked in by traffic while trying to get to a shoe sale at sears. The audacity of those people to get into a car wreck. That caused me a lot of emotional trauma.

Youssef University’s College Life Scholarship
At this point in my life, I am working extremely hard in my part-time job for my college semester starting in spring. One thousand dollars would be extremely helpful in this time of my life. At this time, with one thousand dollars I would invest half of it into some stocks along with some money I have put aside. As for the other half, I would simply put that into the savings account I have for college. I am aware it may not be the most exciting answer, but it is a responsible answer that has been meticulously thought through. Medical School is known to have a high percentage of debt for students. Therefore, I want to be prepared my biggest fear going forward is the lack of funds that will inhibit me from being able to save lives

Robert F. Lawson Fund for Careers that Care
There’s nothing more I want in life than to make a positive impact in society. The way I plan to make a difference is by being a nurse. By being a nurse I’ll be able to help those who are hurting not only by giving them the proper care but also by being able to make them smile. I want to bring a positive aspect into the healthcare setting. It may sound cheesy, but a smile and a positive attitude can make a dramatic difference in someone’s life. A positive attitude can show a lonely patient that they are indeed being cared for. It could also help someone who is struggling with their self image to find self-worth. When patients are in the hospital they are often the most vulnerable, so this is the perfect opportunity to make them feel as comfortable and loved as possible. Improving patient care will also mean making an impact on the coworkers around me. A positive attitude is important in every aspect of the field. I have been working in healthcare for almost a year; surprisingly I have seen teams of nurses working against each other and not together. I want to find new ways to emphasize working as a team is the best way to make patient care more efficient and less stressful for staff.
Since nursing schedules can be flexible I also want to make a difference in my community. Fundraisers are often the best way to do so since they can be versatile , and can be held in different locations. What better way to get more volunteers getting employees from healthcare? Holding fundraisers, that are not just annual, could also indirectly improve the work setting. Giving the opportunity for coworkers to naturally develop team building skills while in a non-stressful environment. It’s a great opportunity that will also benefit the community.
As you can see I’m a young woman with many ideas jumping at every opportunity to make an impact in my community and in the workplace. I have a plan and have the steps to achieve those goals. I was made for nursing. I’m used to hospital visits and long awaited calls. I’m used to being on the other side of healthcare ever since my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m more than ready to be the one giving the care, and not the one that’s worrying how my mother’s case will be handled. I want to give the best care possible for patients. My motivation through the process of education will be my mother. I want to give patients care just as I would give my mother care. I’m ready to change healthcare for the better.
