My goals in life are to be able to take care of my two beautiful children financially and show them the world. I would like to become an RN and have experience in healthcare administration as well. I want to be able to help as many people as possible I can throughout life and who knows maybe have my own nursing home someday. Sometimes in life, you need a little help and that's why I join Bold.org for the help they have to offer. Being a positive role model for my daughters and making them proud of me.

Hi, my name is Ebony Dunaway. I currently live in Philadelphia PA with my two small children. I will be starting Nursing school this September 2023. I found that my having a low income and being limited to how much work I will be able to do also fasa goes but so far, I'm going to need help getting through school. So here I am putting my best effort forward. I'm pushing to complete school not only for myself but for my children to give them a better life and move out of Philadelphia. Where I'm from there aren't many opportunities so you have to make one for yourself. I wake up every day and work hard to apply myself to have a better life and to be able to maintain my living situation.
If I were to receive a scholarship from your organization it would help me in so many ways. I would first take care of the remaining balance from my school tuition. I would then want to look into how much student loan interest I have and pay a majority of that off. I would also want to pay bills and take care of my living expenses. I would also want to give back to others first it would be my children I would want to take them on a nice trip and spend quality time with them for they have always been patient with me as I get through school. Another thing I would want to give back to is a non-profit research development that searches for a cure for people with Lupus. My sister is my biggest supporter when it comes to taking care of my children and just supports me as well. living with lupus can be hard so anything that can help her like she helps me is worth it.
I want to thank you for putting opportunities out there for people like me to be able to better themselves so that they can have better lives and opportunities. Also for taking the time to read my essay in the hopes that something good does come my way. Anything helps big or small but I learned you as the person have to want the help first so this is my first step. Many people don't make it out of Philadelphia so im working hard so that I can make it out. I hope to hear from you guys soon again thank you for your time.

Hi my name is Ebony Dunaway I'm 30 years old and I currently live in Philadelphia PA. I am a single mother with two beautiful daughters. I went to Upper Darby high school. From there is where I graduated with my Associate's degree in Applied Science. I then got my Medical Assistant certification and then went to CNA school. So I guess you can say I went backward. I am currently working as CNA I have been doing that for 8 years. I never thought I would ever apply to become a nurse but hey I went for it and got accepted recently to the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology for their LPN program this upcoming Fall.
What inspired me to want to pursue and advance in my nursing career was I got tired of being afraid of the what if's. I wanted to be that nurse my residents could count on and also want to better my children's life as well. Living in Philadelphia right now isn't the best and I want to be able to give my girls the best out of life. So, obtaining my LPN Degree feels like the right step on a great path. Yet my having some financial hardships is what worries me, so I'm applying for scholarships at this time.
Some of my goals are to complete the LPN program. I would like to further my career and obtain my RN & BSN and minor in Healthcare administration. I do believe there's a great need for more people in the healthcare administrative field. Another goal of mine would be to one day open my own Nursing home. I also would like to do traveling nursing as well to be able to help people all over the world.
In conclusion, I would like to thank you for your time and for allowing me to apply for your scholarship. I want to keep striving for greatness and continue to do my best. I will... "don't what to say hope" obtain my LPN Degree. I want to make my girls proud of me because it's me they look up to the most. I also want to help so many people in my life and learn from the best. I'm also ready to take my career to the next level and see what nursing life takes me. I hope to hear back from you guys and thank you for your time any help would be greatly apricated.
