North Star Dreamers Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will financially bless me and my family to allow me to get the education I need to engage in my career choice as an investment banker. My school is very pricey even with the scholarships I have been granted and it is not for certain what the future holds. My family has assisted me greatly in giving me the opportunity to attend this school and the scholarship would take so much weight off all of our shoulders. I am attending Ramapo College of New Jersey on multiple scholarships. I knew this major would be the best choice for me because of my interest in business (specifically finance) for quite some time now. I have interned with multiple companies including a Real Estate Fund based in Atlanta and New York “Tops Housing LLC” and an insurance company “Farms Family Insurance”. Seeing the way these companies are ran and the professionals running them is very inspiring and mesmerizing. I also have an intense passion for investing and understanding the stock market which I’ve been doing for over 2 years now. I also enjoy studying different real estate markets. I knew I wanted to engage in a career like this so I’ve been preparing remaining on high honor roll for the entirety of my junior year. Then I pulled out of my public school to continue my academic path as a homeschooled student. Maintaining a high gpa and being self guided. I hope this can sit as a representation of my drive to success. I also have closed a wholesale real estate deal which you do not need a license to do. The story behind that is very long but in short detail you find a property that is in poor condition and have the the owner agree to sell it to you. Then you would partner with a person to purchase the property at a marked up price, you as the middle man would receive the difference of the two prices. These are among some of the great experiences I have put myself in the middle of to gain an inventory of skills. I would like to thank you for enabling me to apply for such a great opportunity and I hope I am accepted of this offer. I am excited to see what the next few years have to offer for me and to burst into a strong career. Thank you.

My experience with mental health has affirmed that you are in control with what you want. Everyday will not be as easy as the day before and next week won’t be easy as the last. Regardless we have our internal needs met to make the decision and fight through these struggles that are different for everyone. This applies to business and entrepreneurship because everyone is aware it is not an easy path to follow with plenty of blockades and bridges to cross. Countless doubts flooding your mind. When you get you thoughts under control and really work to focusing on the end goal is when you truly reach a point of success even if it isn’t the end goal yet. With any type of
Mental health struggle the same rules should be taken into action. As someone who has dreams of starting their own financial institution/fund I am doing everything I can now to build the skills and tools I will need. Meeting the right people and acquiring a strong network of inspired people alike. Just to make these struggles a little bit easier. I have interned with real estate funds and insurance agencies both ran by entrepreneurs. I have spoken to great minds on Wall Street who had to really work for their position. All of these experiences made me question “am I really going hard enough?”. Having these inner doubts are not negative at all but actually beneficial because they motivated me. I have been on a journey for knowledge in the past year because I know that is the only way to achieve the success that I want. I will be majoring in finance this year with the intent of first achieving a job of investment banking. This decision in itself was a struggle to come to this decision because I struggle with math but for years have gone the extra mile to get tutoring and help with the things I do not understand. Through my senior year as a newly homeschooled student carrying to my graduation it was not easy and there were plenty of times I felt lost. Feeling defeated is just a normal part of life and I am glad I am learning this early on. Even as the world changes and makes it more difficult for the people below to rise on top I am keen to the probability of success by setting yourself up and I am ready to travel the path.
