Hello, my name is Destiny and my passion for practicing law stems from a deeply rooted desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those navigating through tumultuous family situations. I envision a future where the legal system becomes a beacon of hope for individuals trapped in broken homes, ensnared by domestic violence, or grappling with the complexities of child custody disputes. My commitment to these specific areas of law reflects a profound understanding of the far-reaching consequences these issues can have on individuals, families, and the broader community. Growing up in a community where such challenges were prevalent, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of broken homes, domestic violence, and contentious child custody battles. These experiences fueled my determination to pursue a legal career dedicated to advocating for those facing similar struggles. I recognize that the legal system can serve as a powerful tool to bring about positive change and offer much-needed support to individuals in vulnerable situations. My advocacy for individuals from broken homes is grounded in empathy and a genuine desire to provide a voice for those who may feel silenced or overlooked. I understand the importance of creating legal frameworks that prioritize the well-being of individuals and families, seeking solutions that promote healing and stability. My commitment goes beyond the courtroom; I envision community outreach programs, educational initiatives, and support networks that empower individuals to break free from cycles of abuse and dysfunction. In addressing domestic violence within families, I seek to be a force for change by working within the legal system to implement measures that protect victims, hold perpetrators accountable, and foster a culture of zero tolerance for such behavior. My goal is to contribute to the creation of a legal environment that not only punishes wrongdoing but also rehabilitates and supports survivors on their path to recovery. Child custody disputes are another focal point of my passion for family law. I recognize the profound impact these cases can have on the lives of children and aim to ensure that legal processes prioritize the best interests of the child. I envision myself as an advocate who navigates the complexities of these cases with sensitivity, aiming for outcomes that provide stability, emotional support, and a nurturing environment for the children involved. In conclusion, my aspiration to practice law in the realm of broken homes, domestic violence, and child custody matters is rooted in a genuine desire to be a positive force for change. My commitment to making a difference is reflected not only in academic pursuits but also in my vision for a legal career that actively contributes to the well-being of individuals and families in need. My passion is not just a career choice; it is a calling to use the law as a tool for compassion, justice, and the restoration of hope in the lives of those who need it most.

Being the youngest alongside 4 older brothers in my family, I've always been “the accused,” something goes missing, “its Destiny,” something didn't go a certain way, “its Destiny.” Growing up where nobody ever wanted to listen to my truths has always been hard. It has always been difficult defending myself which built a wall between my family and I. It made me put little trust in those who had no trust in me. I grew up having to be cautious in my own home knowing any little thing or action could go against me. It motivated me to stand up for myself because nobody else will, to speak up on issues that I don't think are correct instead of turning a blind eye, to help those who are also being falsely accused and have nobody to speak up for them. Even though I am still “the accused” in my household. That doesn’t mean I will sit back and watch as others become “the accused” too. I have learned that with a little digging and a little seeking, your name can be cleared in a matter of seconds. I want to help other people clear their name so they don't feel so alone which has sparked my career interest. Now I have the mindset that if people want to say, "nobody else would do that but you," they are going to have to say that about your drive, your work ethic, your never-quit-attitude, and my future success.

I have always wanted to become a lawyer whether it be a family lawyer or a criminal lawyer, I just knew I wanted to be able to fight for someone and for them to be able to count on me to win for them. I want to be someone everyone can count on to fight for them and be able to successfully get them out of any trouble that may come their way. Being a lawyer would be like finally accepting myself and overcoming hurdles to become a strong and successful black woman in society who doesn't need anybody to fight her battles. I want to major in political science or child psychology because it surrounds the bases of my career choice. My biggest Goal when it comes to entering College is that I go to a HBCU which is a predominantly black institution. It has always been my dream and I had to sacrifice much of my childhood and freetimes to try to get accepted into these schools. That means during summers when everyone was having fun and going on vacations, I was taking Summer College classes. I was also working like crazy to try to pay off school and put as much money in my savings just in case the school's prices were too high. I want to do college full time and then do a four year law school and take the LSAT when I'm confident.
