I believe the future of aviation includes shorter commuter and commerce flights on smaller electric aircraft. Shorter and frequent flights require a different approach to maintenance because these aircraft experience the high stresses of constant operation. These aircraft will be comprised of new technologies like non-combustion powerplants putting an even higher emphasis on electrical and computing system maintenance. Another issue that will present will be the need for smaller electric airports or hubs.
Uber, Wal-Mart, and Amazon are already looking up. All three have invested in electric airborne technology to better serve a 21st century economy. With increased road traffic and a desire to reduce global pollution this is clearly the way of the future.
It is essential that we predict the needs of this emerging field of aviation. Community and government education are key. My goal is to provide that knowledge utilizing decades of marketing experience as well as the aviation technology education I am currently pursuing. Through government lobbying, community demonstrations, and public education I will effectively work toward full scale implementation of this emerging segment of aviation.

Aircraft Mechanics for Aircraft Mechanics Scholarship
I have always been fascinated by aircraft. Ever since I was a young boy I have wanted to work in aviation ever since I was a little boy. Seeing aircraft take off and land has always fascinated me. From that young age, I have been amazed by how many different parts and pieces work together to keep an aircraft safely in the air. While I am still amazed at the sheer feat of technology that aircraft are, my focus has shifted more toward what the future of aviation looks like. We have seen and marveled at the Boeing 747 and Airbus A380, but we have learned that these are not the most efficient means of air travel. We are now seeing a shift from larger aircraft with higher passenger capacities to more fuel-efficient aircraft that can travel farther distances like the Boeing 787 and Airbus A321 NEO. I believe the next step in the future of aviation includes shorter commuter and commerce flights on smaller electric aircraft. I have held these views for some time and now we are starting to hear about new companies like Archer that have partnered with United airlines. They will be offering flights from Manhattan to the surrounding airports in the new EVTOL aircraft designed by Archer in the next couple of years.
We must predict the needs of this emerging field of aviation. Community and government education are key. My goal is to provide that knowledge utilizing decades of marketing experience as well as the aviation technology education I am currently pursuing. I opted to go above the basic airframe and powerplant license and have already been trained in advanced aircraft systems and have obtained my FCC elements 1, 3, and 8 as well as successfully passed the Aircraft Electrical Technician exam administered by SpaceTEC. The additional education I have received by going this route sets me up for success in truly understanding how this new generation of aircraft operates with their complex electrical systems. Through government lobbying, community demonstrations, and public education I will effectively work toward full-scale implementation of this emerging segment of aviation.
