Trades Make the World Go 'Round
Often have trades been stigmatized as work for undereducated people but that couldn't be further from the truth. Trade work often requires complex math ranging within the realm of calculus for construction workers, or the advanced life sciences a person studying ag would need to make sure what they are cultivating is given proper conditions to survive. For me, I want to go after certification in electrical engineering due to the math part of it and how big of a role it plays within a community in order for it to thrive.
This certification has stuck out to me whenever I started my look for a trade. I love every aspect of it, the math, and the machinery I would be working with, and it would allow me to follow in the footsteps of my cousin. He was the one who gave me the nudge to sore in this profession. He encouraged me to seek out what I wanted to do and not what would be the most profitable. I love the idea of getting to work on electrical designs, whether it be for a house, office building, or a personal project to help further my understanding of electricity on a fundamental level and allow me to strive for a higher degree in this field.
Whenever someone asks me what my profession is, I want to be able to tell them I work as an electrical engineer, someone who helps run a community in a subtle yet impactful way, most communities thrive off of electricity, and I want to be one of the people who allow for that.
