Hello, my name is Dalia! I push myself to succeed academically so I could pursue a career in medicine. My family and I have been traveling the world full-time for the past 10 years. In the hopes of combining my two passions, I plan to join the International Medical Corps as a doctor! Joining would allow me to help those that need it most; no matter where they are.
Every day, I try to find new ways to better myself academically and personally. I love supporting the communities around me, where ever I go by volunteering. I believe that smalls acts of kindness can change the world, or even more importantly, change a person's life for the better.

Bold Growth Mindset Scholarship
"Growth is painful. Change is painful. But, nothing is as painful as staying stuck where you do not belong." –N. R. Narayana Murthy
As a full-time traveller, I sometimes get the urge of giving up and staying in one place. For days on end, I would feel hopeless and tired. I would ask myself if all of my effort and sacrifice is worth seeing the world and helping those in need, when somebody else could just do it for me.
As a student who aspires to become a doctor and join the International Medical Corps, I sometimes feel like I won't make it. Or I'm not good enough to make it. Like all of the hours I put into my school work will ultimately be for nothing.
I quickly learned that the only way I could keep moving forward is if I accept that I will struggle along the way. The only way that I could grow as a person and student, is if I put in the work and keep a positive mindset. However, this is easier said than done. Here is how I do it:
I keep little reminders of my goals with me so I could feel motivated to get through my day. The reminder could be something as small as my phone's wallpaper, or even words of affirmation written on my hands.
Another way of keeping a growth mindset is by not sticking to a fixed daily routine.
And finally, by reaching out and asking for help when I need it most.
While change could mean an endless array of things, growth always reflects a person's effort.
It would mean a lot to me if you could assist me in this moment of need.
Thank you for your time!
I wish to hear back from you.
Bold Memories Scholarship
At the tender age of 7 years old, my parents informed me that we were going to travel the world. Time flew by, and before we knew it, we have been traveling full-time for 10 years! Thanks to that one day, all those years ago, I have become the worldly person that I am today.
Besides the fact that I have acquired friends, role models, teachers, and family on every continent, I have fortunately been able to learn about some of the richest cultures in this world. I have learned languages such as English, Arabic, and French on the go. I experienced and witnessed some of the most spectacular views, cities, and sites that this world has to offer.
However, one thing has come out of this that I hold very dearly. I was blessed with opportunities to volunteer and help the communities around me, wherever I go. I have dedicated my time to help orphans in the Middle East, clean churches in Australia, feed and take care of stray animals in Turkey, and raise awareness in the United States as a journalist.
One day, I hope to put this worldly skill to use by becoming a doctor and joining the International Medical Corps. Thanks to this worldly skill, I will be able to one day help those that need it most, wherever they might be, as a doctor.
If it wasn't for that day, I am unsure where I would be right now and what my passions will be. But it is best to not contemplate on the past but rather learn from it and be thankful for it. If I get selected as this scholarship's winner, I will be able to take the classes necessary to make my dreams come true.
Thank you for your time!
Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
After 10+ years of full-time traveling, one thing has always amazed me.
I have met more people than the average person my age, and I have seen and witnessed more of the world than some people will ever have in their entire life; so what have I learned? People, at their core, are one and the same.
We all want the same thing, no matter which side we want it for. We strive for peace and unity. We strive to be loved and to give back, in whatever way we could. I believe that there is a reason why we feel happiest whenever we put a smile on someone else's face first.
How has this piece of information influenced how I view things?
The knowledge that I have acquired allowed me to see things from both sides of the story, and it has made me so much more empathetic. I used to view things in black and white, but this knowledge has unlocked a variety of colors and shades.
The smoke has cleared when it comes to what career I would like to pursue in the future. I would like to become a doctor, but I also want to keep traveling the world. I have come up with a plan to join the International Medical Corps and help those that need it most, no matter where they are in the world.
Treat people with kindness. No matter their color, gender, sexuality, financial status, and degree; they are not so different from you.
We are all one at our core.
