Bio

I’m indecisive, I ponder all kinds of paths I can walk in this lifetime. I’m caring and a tad bit sensitive. I can be harsh sometimes but just for a while. I reflect on my actions thinking about if it was appropriate, if not I think about how to be better. I’m patient with people. I rather talk calmly about a situation then come up with a solution. I’m hard working and very motivated. My dream to buy my mom a home where she is comfortable.

I want to buy my mom a house. My parents got married at a very young age, mainly because I was on the way. Unfortunately, they had a nasty divorce. When my parents were together, my dad brought in most the of money. Soon after my parents officially split my mom very quickly had to find a home for my siblings and me. She worked endlessly to make ends meet. We live in a world where my mom makes too much money for food stamps or any other possible government assistance. For some time we lived with my aunt, she was nice enough to let us use her living room as our home. After that, we stayed with another aunt to lucky had a whole spare bedroom for all five of us. Finally, things were looking up for us and my mom got a good job. Good enough to pay for our apartment, small and not enough bedrooms but we finally had a space to call our own. Things were hard, and are hard still. Since I graduated high school I have worked to contribute to our living expenses to somehow alleviate some of the stress off my mom. Even then together we make just enough to keep the roof over our heads but nothing more. Years have gone but and somehow we have outgrown our home. My mom sleeps in the living room on a blow-up mattress, my little brother sleeps on the couch right next to her. My sister took over my mom's bedroom to set up a baby crib, even if I wanted to give up my room my mom would never accept it. I am grateful to have a roof over my head and food in the fridge but how I wish to buy a forever home for my mom. A home no one can take, not my dad, not the landlady, no one. My mom had me when she was fifteen. She has not stopped working since, from the fast food industry to an office job and countless doctors' offices she will do whatever it takes to make sure my siblings and I are okay. My mom has never given up, she always gets up and does the very best she can. I have seen my mom struggle because of money all my life. I want to have a good career so that money will never be one of my struggles. I do not want to have multiple jobs to make ends meet. I will do the very best I can. I want one career, one job, and one forever home. I believe a career in nursing will help me achieve all my goals. I want to be able to help someone both physically and mentally once I become a nurse. Be a friend to those in my care, and encourage them to keep fighting.
