I am the 2nd oldest of four siblings, and we are all very close in age. My brother is only 11 months older than me and he is also starting college this year. My parents have worked hard to provide us all with the very best opportunities possible our whole lives. We have have had their support to play sports and anything we needed for school. Now is my time to start my college career, and a scholarship will be a way that I can ease the financial burden for my parents who will have two of us starting college at the same time and two who are still in high school. Most people probably don't know that I have an interest in business and finance. They may think I'm only about basketball - which is how I spend most of my time. But I take school seriously, I get good grades, and I have interests beyond the basketball court. I plan to major in Finance when I go to the University of Miami next fall. And I hope to one day follow the path my grandpa Jim blazed when he had his career in finance. Although I hope I don't have the same abrupt ending as my grandpa, he ended up having a life-changing stroke and having to close his business, I do hope I can match even a fraction of his success. That way I can take care of my family, the way my grandpa used to take care of his family. He was extremely generous with family, friends, his church, and community, and that's exactly how I want my grandchildren to remember me one day.
