    Billie Eilish Fan Scholarship
My top three Billie Eilish songs are "Birds of a Feather," "Ocean Eyes," and "Wildflower." Each one resonates with me in different ways. "Birds of a Feather" holds a special place because I’m currently in my freshman year of college. Moving away from home, and leaving behind my family and friends, has been tough. I always knew we wouldn’t be together forever, but this song makes me think about them, especially my twin sister, who has been by my side since birth. The line “I don’t wanna say goodbye” hits hard because saying goodbye to everyone, especially her, was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. "Ocean Eyes" resonates with me for a different reason—it reminds me of my late mother. Although my eyes aren’t the same color as hers, the song brings back memories of her eyes, flooding me with the good and bad times we shared. Thinking about her eyes makes me emotional, much like the song’s tone. This song will always be close to my heart because of that connection. Finally, "Wildflower" reminds me of the girls I’ve liked. Some relationships ended poorly, some were great, and some never had a chance to blossom. This song takes me back to those moments, especially the ones where I never got the chance to tell someone how I felt. Billie Eilish’s songs stir up a lot of emotions—ones that might be considered negative or sad—but I don’t feel that way when I listen. She forces me to reflect on things I otherwise might not have, and I’m grateful for that. Through the good and the bad, she kept going, and so will I. Thank you, Billie Eilish—I’ll always be a fan.

There are numerous improvements that I would like to see in my town, the nation, and the world. An improvement in social justice and equality for all people, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or socioeconomic background, is one of the most significant changes I would like to see. I think that everyone deserves the chance to lead a happy and meaningful life and that this can only be done through advancing justice and equality. I am striving to support organizations and activities that advance social justice and equality in order to help make a difference in my neighborhood. This includes giving my time and money to charities that help marginalized populations, like food banks, shelters for the homeless, and legal assistance offices. Additionally, I am planning to participate in debates and speak out in favor of laws and procedures that advance social justice and equality, such as fair housing laws, equal pay for equal work, and accessibility to high-quality healthcare and education. I want to see more environmental sustainability in my neighborhood, the nation, and the world, in addition to promoting social justice and equality. This entails taking action to lessen our environmental effects and protect natural resources for upcoming generations. I'm trying to lessen my own carbon footprint to contribute to this cause by using reusable bags, conserving energy, and supporting sustainable energy programs. I also support groups like conservation organizations and businesses that use renewable energy sources in their efforts to preserve the environment and advance sustainable lifestyles. Overall, I think it's critical that each of us take local action to improve our neighborhoods, the nation, and the world. We can all benefit from a better future if we try to lessen our influence on the environment and support organizations and projects that advance social justice and equality.

As a current student, I am actively working to address my future student loan debt by being strategic about my education and career choices. This includes carefully researching and choosing a college and degree program that will provide me with the skills and knowledge that I need to succeed in a high-paying career. I am also taking advantage of opportunities to gain relevant work experience and build a professional network while in school, which can help me to secure a well-paying job after graduation. Currently, I am looking into becoming a federal agent because that is my passion and it will provide me with enough money to pay off my student loans in a timely manner. In terms of budgeting and financial management, I am taking steps to ensure that I am spending and saving my money wisely. This includes creating a budget and tracking my expenses so that I can identify areas where I can cut back on unnecessary spending and redirect that money toward my future loan payments. I am also exploring different savings and investment options, such as a 401(k) or a Roth IRA, which can help me to grow my money and prepare for the future. Another fundamental way that I am addressing my future student loan debt is by staying informed about the different repayment options that are available to me. This includes researching income-driven repayment plans, which can base my monthly loan payments on my income and family size, potentially lowering the amount that I have to pay each month. I am also exploring loan forgiveness programs, consolidation, and refinancing options, which can help me manage my debt and save money in the long run. In the future, I am also planning to live frugally and avoid taking on additional debt, such as credit card debt or a mortgage. This means being mindful of my spending and making smart financial decisions, such as buying an affordable home and avoiding lifestyle inflation. By living within my means and avoiding unnecessary debt, I can minimize the overall amount that I have to repay and focus on paying off my student loans. Overall, addressing my future student loan debt is a priority for me. By being strategic about my education and career choices, managing my finances effectively, and staying informed about my repayment options, I am working to ensure that I can pay off my loans and avoid financial stress in the future.

The song that has the most important message for me is the song Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. The section that specifically resonates with me the most is the following: "Well, I've been afraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm getting older too" I resonate with this part of the song because as I get closer and closer to college I start to think about moving out of my parent's house and becoming independent. I know that right now I am not ready but I believe wholeheartedly that as more and more time passes I will become bolder and will eventually be ready to live by myself. I can't stop getting older and even those memories of me running around with my friends in 1st grade seem so distant that I get a little sad but I also get excited because I know the future holds great promise. All of the changes that will be occurring following my senior year frighten me and there's no running from it so I just have to head forward not knowing what will happen. I listen to this song multiple times a week and every time I listen to it I get inspired and excited about what the future holds that is why Landslide by Fleetwood Mac has the most important message to me.

The person who has supported me the most in reaching my educational goals is my mother and she has done this by continually pushing me to be better as well as providing me with the necessary skills and tools to achieve these goals. My father is in the military so whenever he had to be away for work my mother would support not just me but my twin sister and older brother. I respect and love my mother so much that words can not describe it. When I was little she would put a book in my hand and during that time I may not have liked that, I could have been outside playing but I can now keep up with my honors and AP classes because of this. She would sign me up for clubs and activities for me to go to so that I could find my passion and by doing so I have found soccer which is something I cannot live without and it's all thanks to her. As I have previously said, my father is in the military and that meant that our family would pack everything up and move around every two years which I was not too fond of but you play the cards you're dealt. Every move brought nervousness and anxiety because it meant a new school with no one I knew and a new soccer team. My mom would always be there for me if I was ever having a hard time trying to find friends or adjusting to the new academic standards. She would and still always ask me how my day was which I would sometimes just reply with "It was ok" but every time she asked me that question I just felt all warm inside. Even now she is supporting me in my final years of high school by helping me study for my ACTs and SATs, helping me in any way she can with my very stressful AP classes, and even the very difficult college search and application process. I have taken all of the classes that will help me to continue to reach even higher educational goals and I can thank my mom for everything, I wouldn't trade my mom for anything in the world! Thank you, mom, I love you.
