      I Can Do Anything Scholarship
A pharmacist that helps the community in need and earns enough money to help my family and future families.
      Bold Climate Changemakers Scholarship
I keep a positive impact on the climate by keeping the environment clean. I never litter or put garbage and plastic in the oceans and lakes. I pick up trash if they are not in the right place. Lastly, my parents and I put organic materials into a basket to fertilize plants. Many people litter on the streets or properties of someone else. Even my parents and I collect trash on my property, which can be stressful. It is essential to keep our environment clean. We should pick up trash and place them in the garbage can. We should never dispose of them on the ground, properties of others, or the oceans and lakes. If we do it right, then we are saving every environmental life. I did a project on the greenhouse effect, and I calculated my carbon footprint. Fortunately, my result did not require me to reduce anything in my household. It is good to reduce carbon emissions from your daily activities, such as hang-drying clothes, hand-washing dishes, and other activities. You can also make a compost bag, filling it with organic materials, such as banana peel, chicken bone, and more. They are great for fertilizing plants. Helping and saving plant lives is essential. After all, we need carbon dioxide when we breathe out. In conclusion, even though I am not in a group, I do what I can do at home. They are small. However, we know that small activities direct toward achievement. The most critical lesson we all need to learn and act is to stop littering the environment, including the oceans. We would be saving the lives of everyone and the environment.
      Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
Learning is an ability and a skill that helps us adapt to the world. I have learned many views, opinions, and other information through education, social media, and experience of myself and others. I studied and graduated from a private Christian school. I am currently at a community college, studying and pursuing my major in Pharmacy. During my elementary to high school years, I have learned many facts and information about the Word of God. Additionally, I learned to become a responsible student. Now, I am working on becoming a responsible young adult. Even though I am already an adult, accomplishing my responsibilities as a college student, I could still make some improvements. After all, we do not live in a world where we can easily be carefree. Social media taught me never to trust certain news, including opinions posted by a user. I have read many posts where they wanted to prove a point about a common mistake that occurs in this world. However, when further reading upon them, I find out that they removed a big piece of the truth behind it. They should find better sources and evidence to support their claims and views. They should not be destroying the life of an individual. Of course, We are all well aware that we should not trust every social media post and news. To sum it all up, I have learned many points and information through education, social media, and experiences. These learning experiences occur almost every day. Essentially, it does help us gain knowledge and insights into the world where we reside. Overall, it is crucial to learn to become a responsible adult. If we do not, we would be leading ourselves to many challenges that would prevent us from moving on.
      Bold Great Minds Scholarship
There are many individuals from history whom I admire or appreciate. Since we are talking about only one individual, I will pick Olaudah Equiano, an African writer, a slave abolitionist, and a sailor. I read about him during my American Literature course. I am also happy to learn that he also believed in Jesus Christ. Equiano is known for his work, "The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, Or Gustavus Vassa, The African." His work consists of his slavery life and experience. Even though he went through so many obstacles, he used and recorded those experiences as evidence to abolish slavery and the slave trade. In a way, slavery created him into an abolitionist and writer. Equiano, as mentioned before, was African, and slave-owners did not like Africans to become educated. I believe it was because they saw it as a threat to their slave system. However, Equiano met individuals who were willing to educate him, including sailing. He also believed in Jesus Christ, and there was someone on the ship who taught him how to read the Bible and explained unclear passages to him. So yes, slave life has created him to become an educated individual. Equiano struggled through many difficulties in life. However, he pushed himself to educate himself and become a free, educated man, writer, and abolitionist. I believe Equiano has shown us that we should never give up on our goals, dreams, and ambitions just because of race or specific diversity and characteristics. We should fight through the obstacles and find our way to success. Frederick Douglass and Phyllis Wheatley had similar life. They all influenced everyone to become successful, along with abolishing slavery. That is why I admire Equiano because he shared what he knew was best and essential for the world.
      Bold Financial Freedom Scholarship
The most helpful financial advice would be the most basic one: save money and do not spend it on junk. Wisely spending money is essential in saving money and not losing money. When we spend it on concerts, parties, and other events that are not part of our goals, we are causing ourselves to live in a challenging and financially-unstable environment. Saving money is the simple advice we hear from everyone. This advice is worth noting because not many individuals do it. They spend what is unnecessary, which leads to regrets. It is best to know what is essential before purchasing an item. Knowing your budget limit is essential. If you were to go over the budget, you would be receiving hardships in your finances. That is why some individuals spend a certain amount of money per day, week, or month. In general, planning your budget is critical. It is a good idea to learn to become not tempted from spending money. When we receive a paycheck or loads of cash, we immediately spend it on useless items. Instead, we should be using that money to pay for groceries, rent, bills, clear-off debts, and other critical tasks. Once you take care of those tasks, you should start saving money and spend them wisely. Money should be used correctly and not abused. In conclusion, saving money and knowing your budget limit is critical for living a financially stable life. Yes, they are simple advice. However, it is worth mentioning as we tend to forget this simple advice. Once we accomplish them, we would eliminate financial difficulties.
"A State of Mind" Texas Scholarship
Texas is the second-biggest state in America. It contains well-known, unforgettable history, such as the Alamo. More importantly, which everyone needs to know, Texas is derived from the word “Tejas,” meaning “friend” or “ally.” Not many citizens of the U.S. treat everyone equally and friendly due to diversity. However, the U.S. stands for the United States, and we should all unite to one equal-human race. Texas means friend and ally. Therefore, we should all be friendly and not hate for being different. The Battle of the Alamo was an event that no one would ever forget. That is why we hear the phrase, “Remember the Alamo.” It was a war for independence from Mexico, and our fellow Texans fought and sacrificed their lives for our freedom and liberty. We know the names of well-known Texans, such as David Crockett, James Bowie, and William B. Travis. They fought and died while defending the Alamo. There were also about 200 soldiers during the battle who fought for independence. These men came from different places with different backgrounds. However, everyone ignored the differences and united for one purpose: to fight for Texas liberty. In conclusion, I believe these reasons are what it means to be Texan. We all have to be friendly and equal to each other, just like our fellow Texans were during the Battle of the Alamo. That is how you obtain a healthy and great country and state. More importantly, “Remember The Alamo” and our heroes and veterans of Texas.
      Bold Hobbies Scholarship
Hobbies are great to have for leisure activities. My hobbies are simple and popular. They are great, especially after I complete my assignments and activities at college. My hobbies are there to ease up the tension. My two hobbies are working out and exercising, and watching entertainment. My first hobby is working out and exercising. I started exercising ever since I enrolled in a physical education course at my college. It began on August 2021. I was about 187 pounds. Now, I am 171 pounds. The main reason I started working out was to lose weight and reduce stress. When we work out, we release endorphins, causing us to feel less stressed. College life has become stressful. Exercising has become a solution in reducing my stress and tension. My last hobby is watching TV shows, movies, and anime. I love watching entertainment. As for TV shows, I watch crime dramas, sitcoms, and other genres. Movies would depend on the plot. I watch them as a challenge if some movies are terrible, like the mockbuster movies. Other times, I watch great movies that have good ratings. Lastly, I watch anime series such as Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, and so much more. I also rate them on IMDb and MyAnimeList to share my review and rating with everyone. Overall, I watch the entertainment as a way to feel relieved. In conclusion, my hobbies are simple and universal. However, it is great to relieve stress. Exercising and working out are essential for your health. Watching entertainment is great for killing time and enjoying a night with family and friends, which is good for mental health. In general, both of my hobbies are good for mental and physical health.
      Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
Friendship is essential in life. Friendship is family. When we form a relationship with a trusted friend, we create friendship and family relationships. Which means we are all one family. When I played basketball in my Freshman through Junior years of High School, we built and improved as teams, and we also created a great friendship. We were all one family. During my Junior year of high school, we all huddled up before the game began and shouted, “LIONS, ONE FAMILY!” Therefore, friendship is family. I have been saying “family,” but it does not mean I am Vin Diesel, or Dom Toretto, from Fast and Furious 10. It was funny to hear it repetitively in the movie and several memes. However, we all know it is true. Trust builds friendships, and so do families. Therefore, friendship is family, and trust is essential for every relationship. A good verse from the Bible for friendship would be on Proverbs 18:24. In the New Living Translation, the Bible says, “There are ‘friends’ who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” We can see that real friendship leads to a sibling-like relationship. To me, friendship means having a trusted relationship with a friend. By definition, that is what it means. This relationship does require trust, which means your friend has your back and will support you in life. They are your family, which means they are like your brother, sister, or cousin. It is essential to hold that relationship firm and not lose it later in life. Some friendships are unreplaceable or hard to replace.
      Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Patience used to be an issue for me. I always felt behind in achieving my goals and dreams after seeing my friends accomplish theirs. The longer it goes on, the more I lose faith. However, we should never give up. Patience is essential because it helps us achieve our goals and ambitions and improve our tasks. When we exercise, we have to be patient with the results, such as weight loss and muscle gain. Even academic life requires patience. However, I need to quickly complete my courses because there is a time frame for how long each science course is valid for my Pharmacy major. However, finishing up every requirement for a future profession does require patience. I am also working out and exercising to lose weight. It does take time to get to my goal weight. I am trying to lose about 10-15 pounds. I started my exercise on August 30th, and I was 187 pounds. Now, I am 171 pounds. Everything takes hard work, commitment, and determination. During that process, we wait patiently for good news and effective results. Lastly, I will share a religious example. We all know God created us for a purpose. As Christian, we hear from individuals saying God has a plan for us. Remember, it will take time. However, we should never lose our patience and faith in His plan. Everything we are striving and accomplishing requires patience. Once that time arrives, all the waiting and patience will be worth it. Overall, patience is key to success. Without it, we would lose faith in our goals and tasks. If that happens, we will be giving up easily on everything. Be patient, and you will witness your accomplished result.
      Bold Best Skills Scholarship
I do not have a lot of skills that are considered the best. However, I will provide three skills that I believe are worth mentioning: oratory speech, taking photographs, and editing and photoshopping pictures. During my Freshman to Senior year of high school, I performed my original oratory speeches. I also competed at TAPPS with my competition piece and was placed. Even though I am not recently doing orations, I still have the skills of researching my topics and finding good sources to back up my claims. Everyone has it, too. However, it shows how essential this skill is for future careers. I also improved my oration skill only in High school because I performed it for four years. I also take pictures of whatever it is that is worth taking. During that time, I photoshop them to make them better or comical. I did that with most of my selfies and family pictures. I also edit some photos from cartoon shows to use them as a title page for my High School English Portfolio. It was challenging because I went after perfection. In the end, it was magnificent and complete. In conclusion, the three skills that I am pretty good at and slightly improving at are original orations, photography, and photoshop.
      Bold Helping Others Scholarship
My favorite way to help would have to involve having the skills. What I mean by that is I need to know how to do it before I even decide to help someone. If I am not good at a particular skill in helping someone, I would not be satisfied. However, if I am good at it, I would feel the benefits of helping others. There are certain subjects I am pretty good at, and when someone needs help with that subject, I can help them because I know it. If an individual needs help to carry an item or package, I can aid them, knowing my strength. Another example, which happened in 2019, was serving the citizens of Puerto Rico. After four days of renovating two homes, we were thankful to see their happy faces. Not only that, but we also provided blessing bags to some individuals of Puerto Rico. They were also pleased to receive the blessing bags and prayers from us. Overall, I need skills to perform excellent service. I would not feel the benefit of helping others without having experience in it. However, what matters the most is knowing you did a great job, seeing their happy expressions. If they are not pleased, then the only benefit you have is completing a task without satisfaction from others. Therefore, if you have the skills to complete the activity and gain happy expressions to whom you helped, you will receive great benefits from it.
      Bold Motivation Scholarship
My daily motivations are exercising, studying, and watching entertainment, such as movies, TV shows, and anime. When we exercise, we not only become active, but we are reducing stress. When that happens, it is easier to continue with our daily activities. As for studying, I study hard for my course because I need to become a successful Pharmacist. I need to fulfill my goals and dreams, which require a lot of preparation, determination, and commitment. It may not count as motivation because studying can become stressful. However, when we study new materials and information about a particular subject, we gain interest in them. This interest would allow us to continue forward with our life and studies. Lastly, movies, TV shows, and anime keep me motivated because it is entertaining. We all need a break from activities, and watching entertainment is a way for me to feel relief. Overall, my motivation includes exercising, watching entertainment, and studying to be successful.
      Bold Know Yourself Scholarship
I do not know what I have learned about myself that I have found valuable. However, not giving up on my dreams and goals might be a great, valuable lesson. Students sometimes change their decisions on what they want to major in because it is either challenging or not suited for them. As for me, I decided on Pharmacy. I chose not to change my major because I would be going through the same way as before. For that reason, I decided to continue with Pharmacy and become a successful Pharmacist. My other goal is to obtain an Associate Degree of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. After I receive those degrees, I will be working as a Pharmacy Technicians or Trainee to gain some experience. After that, I will be studying to receive a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Overall, I learned the two most valuable lessons about myself: never quit and accomplish your goals no matter what the obstacles are. With the blessing from God and support from my parents, families, teachers, and friends, I know and believe I can achieve my goal of becoming a Pharmacist.
      Bold Wisdom Scholarship
Never give up on your goals and ambitions. That would be my one sentence to share with the world. We all give up or quit our dreams or ambitions because we are not committed to it, lack determination, or let negativity take over us. If we give up now, we will be repeating the same mistake in the future. You will be doing it without even realizing it. According to II Chronicles 15:7 in the New International Version Bible, God said: “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." The point is that hard work pays off. We have heard that statement a lot in sports and professions. There is only one solution to make this statement believable: never give up. Right now, I am pursuing my education and major in Pharmacy. I decided not to change my major since that would be a hassle. I treat every profession the same. After all, earning them requires hard work. There is no shortcut to them. That is why I am sticking to Pharmacy as my major. I will not let anyone interfere with my goals and ambition. My advice, again, to all of you is to never quit on your goals and dreams.
      Bold Legacy Scholarship
I am not sure if what I am about to say is considered a legacy. However, I will say this: I want to make a difference in some way. My major is Pharmacy, and I am also pursuing my education by earning my Associate Degree of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Pharmacy was my only career/major choice that I feel was suited for me. I also believe as a Pharmacist, I would be helping the community. That is also my legacy. I want to make a difference by helping those in need and not giving up on my goals and dreams, no matter what the obstacles are. I want to be financially stable as well for my future. That is why I will do my best, performing well in my education. I do not want to change my major since that would be a hassle. I am going to stick to it and not give it up. Not only that, but I also want to show that I gave it my best and 100% effort. Perfection is what everyone strives for, including me, but "not everything is perfect." We have to give it all for whatever we are achieving, and that is what matters. If we do not do that, we would be giving up easily or not getting the desired satisfaction for that accomplishment. Overall, my legacy is to accomplish my goals and ambitions, not give up, be financially stable for my future, and help the community.
      Bold Perseverance Scholarship
I would say everything required perseverance. However, the main one would be college. My college education is challenging, especially when it involves high-level education and money. Not only that but finding a good professor is hard as well. Without a good professor, you do not learn or have fun learning. There was a year where I persevered through two science courses at my college. The two courses were Microbiology and Genetics. There is a reason why college advisors advise you not to take two science courses unless you are confident with your intelligence and time management. In this case, it was challenging because after I studied and completed an exam for one of my courses, I had a week or less to prepare and take an exam for the other course. Surprisingly, some lessons were connected, such as DNA or certain types of diseases and viruses. In the end, I received an A in one class and a B in the other. I was happy to complete them and not have to go through that again. I was glad to maintain a good grade and academic performance. We all have to be proud of getting a B. Even though “C’s get degrees,” A’s and B’s are a way to show that you pushed hard to earn them. Do not let anyone make your effort feel small or poor. We all have a different level of intelligence, but it takes determination and commitment to earn and maintain a good grade and academic standing, especially A’s and B’s.
      Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
Friendship is essential in life. As Dom Toretto would say in Fast & Furious: "I do not have friends. I have family." When we form a friendship with someone, we are also creating a family relationship. Overall, we all become one family. When I played basketball during my Freshman through Junior years of high school, we not only built and improved ourselves as teams, but we also formed a great friendship. We were all one family. During my Junior year of high school, my team and I always huddle up before the game and shout, “LIONS, ONE FAMILY!” We are not just friends. We are family. I have been saying, "We are family", but I am not Dom Toretto from Fast and Furious 10. Even though it was funny to hear it repetitively in the movie and several memes, we all know it is true. Friendships are created based on trust. This statement also applies to family. Therefore, friendship is family. Then again, trust is essential for every relationship. A good verse from the Bible for friendship would be on Proverbs 18:24. In the New Living Translation, the Bible says, “There are ‘friends’ who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” We can see that real friendship leads to a sibling-like relationship. To me, friendship means to have a trusted relationship with a friend. By definition, that is what it means. Having friends requires trust. That means your friend has your back and will support you in life. They are like your family, which means they are like your brother, sister, or cousin. Always find and make great friends whom you can trust. Good friends lead to good memories and experiences.
You Glow Differently When You're Happy Scholarship
My happy memory would have to be during my middle and high school years. My Varsity basketball years were even more memorable since my teammates always made me laugh or helped me become a better player. There were some fluctuations throughout the years, but that did not cause us to lose the friendship. Now, I am in college. I may be making new memories during those years. However, my middle and high school years would be my happiest memory of all. Middle and high school years may not be fun, but great friends lead to great experiences and happy memories.
      Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Patience used to be an issue for me. I say this because there are certain situations where you ask yourself, "Will I ever be able to accomplish my goals?" or "Will my fitness workout make me lose weight?". However, the longer it goes on, the more you lose faith in what you were doing. That is why we should stop giving up and keep on striving. Patience is essential to life because it helps us achieve our goals and ambitions and improve on particular tasks. When we exercise, we need patience for effective results, such as weight loss and muscle gain. Even academic life requires patience. In my case, I have to quickly complete my courses because my courses for my Pharmacy major have validity. However, our ambitions to our professions do require patience when it comes to achieving every requirement for it. I am also working out and exercising to lose weight. It does take time to get to the goal weight. In my case, I am trying to lose about 10-15 pounds. I started my exercise on August 30th, and I was 187 pounds. Now, I am 180 pounds. Everything takes hard work, commitment, and determination. During that process, we wait patiently for the good news or effective results to occur. As for a religious example, we all know God created us for a purpose. As Christian, we hear from individuals saying God has a plan for us. Remember, it will take time. However, we should never lose our patience and faith in His plan. Everything we are striving and accomplishing requires patience. Once that time comes, all the waiting and patience will be worth it. In conclusion, patience is vital to life. It helps build character and confidence. Importantly, we should never give up and lose faith.
      Bold Great Books Scholarship
My favorite book would have to be "Born A Crime" by Trevor Noah. It is worth checking out. It is a true story about a boy who was born in South Africa during the Apartheid system. It was illegal for Caucasians and Africans to be together and have mixed children. The story was very entertaining and fascinating to read. It had comedy in certain sections of the chapters. It also had some Christian aspects to it. Trevor Noah was born and raised in a Christian environment. His mother was a Christian. His autobiography became one of my most favorite books I have ever read. My college English professor assigned us this book. At first, I was not a fan of reading, especially as an assignment. In this case, I liked it and learned a lot from it. The questions were not difficult, so that also made it better. However, the main reason why this book is my favorite is that it is a true story, and it has comedy and a Christian aspect to it. Although religion is not a factor in why I like the book, it is still amazing to read about it since I am also a Christian. It was worth the read, and I enjoyed it. The ending was a happy one, so no one has to worry about a sad ending. It is also an adventurous story from what I perceived. Each chapter discusses Trevor's life and what he did to get through the day. Some of those stories are comical and entertaining. It makes you wish they made a movie about it, so we can visually see how it went. I feel like this book is only age-appropriate for those permitted to read books with curse words in them.
