Lynn Welding Next Generation in Welding Scholarship
There are many factors that have led me to choose a path in welding. One factor is that I am very math minded. To be a successful welder, you use math in everything you do from measuring angles to setting your bottles at the right amount. You also use math to set angles when building staircases and other fab work. When using math in welding, it is very important to be precise. Measure twice and weld once!! I also enjoy the freedom to use my creativity to build and fabricate items for every day use. I have personally built a towable trailer and did all of the welding and fab work on it. I spent lots of hours perfecting this trailer for our county stock show. I won 1st place and went on to several other shows. This year I am using my welding skills to fabricated and build a BBQ pit from the ground up! Welders are very beneficial in the rise of metal buildings and homes. I have firsthand experience at building metal barns and homes and understand everything that goes into that fabrication. I have spent the past 1.5 years working with another welder building homes, barns, staircases, and other items. I learned valuable lessons and tips during this time. Another reason I chose to become a welder is that I love to travel and I know that this is an option for many welders in today's world. Traveling and using my skills in different places is something I think would be beneficial not only to me but also to my family. Welding also never gets boring since there are so many different types of welding. I am certified in 7018 stick welding and 0.35 MIG welding. Welding gives you the freedom to use your skills to help others and can be beneficial in all areas of growth in our world. Lots of building requires welders to use their skills to better their final product.
Welding is very important in today's society. Everywhere you look, there is always something that has been welded. With the rise of homes and buildings being built, there will always be a need for welders. As more buildings and facilities are going up, welders will always be in high demand and will have lots of opportunities. The jobs are limitless when you have the ability to love what you are doing and take pride in your work.
