I am currently a High School senior, and my favorite class is auto shop. I have maintained a GPA of 3.5 over my entire high school career with an almost perfect attendance record. I have been in Future Farmers of America (FFA) and have won awards at our fair from my projects in Agricultural Mechanics class.
My goals are to attend WyoTech-Laramie trade school to earn my Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications. I will be earning my Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) degree in Applied Service Management. Upon graduation I will strive to complete my testing and experience to become a Master Technician.
My hobbies include volunteering at my local racetrack, which I have been doing for over five years. I also spend my time helping my friends work on their dwarf cars serving in their pit crews at the track. This is what I enjoy doing and would like to make a career in the automotive field doing something I love.
A scholarship would help me towards my goals of being in the automotive industry without the worries of how I will have to pay for it. The cost of higher education is burdensome and should not stop anyone from trying to reach their full potential.

I'm currently in my senior year of high school and have maintained grades over a GPA of 3.50 my entire high school career, along with an almost perfect attendance. I have taken an Agricultural Mechanics class and have won awards at our fair for my projects. My favorite class is Auto Shop. I have already earned my first high school Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. It is really where I excel as I'm learning while using my hands for practical applications. This is my strength.
I volunteer my time at our local speedway. I also work in the pit crew for my friends, while they race their cars. My parents took me to racing events, sometimes two to three hours away, so I could help my friends during the races out of town. My dad and grandpa both have older/classic vehicles we work on during our spare time and when they break down. We also show the vehicles at our local car shows and friends' barbecues. You can say this is my hobby and what I enjoy doing in my spare time.
I'm going to be attending WyoTech trade school in the fall of 2024. I'm going to be majoring in automotive technology and earning my initial ASE certifications. I will also be taking an applied service management class earning an Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) degree. In the future I may become a Master Technician or decide to open my shop. As I gain more information and learn of more opportunities, I will make informed decisions about my future. Right now, I still, "don't know what I don't know."
There is a major shortage of automotive mechanics, technicians, body repair specialists, and business owners throughout the country. A new era of electric vehicles is on the horizon and will eventually be a dominating factor in the automobile industry. There will be a need for people who can service and work on both types of vehicles to keep the industry and economy moving. Most consumer goods are moved via automobile/truck transportation, which improves the economy. An individual with the latest technology, information and schooling can only contribute to the workforce. I believe my work ethic, reliability and determination can be an asset to any business's success.
For me a successful life would be creating, working in, and making a living, while doing something you love to do. Not too many people enjoy their jobs and can work in the field they would like to. I'm young enough to create that opportunity for myself. If you enjoy your work, then the quality of your work will excel and everything surrounding it will be uplifted. My family and friends are all supportive, so I will be able to focus on my dream while creating a life to be proud of.

I am going to attend WyoTech vocational training school to earn my certificate in automotive mechanics/technician. I’m going to earn my Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) degree in automotive business while attending. I would like to earn my ASE first-year certifications as well. I'm currently taking my second year of auto-shop at my high school, where I have already earned my first ASE certification. I have already taken agricultural mechanics class, winning some awards at our local fair with my projects.
I volunteer my time at our local speedway. I also work in the pit crew for my friends, while they race their cars. I will focus and make my determination of where I would like to work after attending expos and job fairs, which are offered at the school. One goal would be to become a Master Technician. A scholarship would help me in many ways. First, I would be able to concentrate on my schooling without worrying about how I would pay for the school after graduating. Secondly, I don't want to burden my parents with the bills that are my responsibility.
Angelia Zeigler Gibbs Book Scholarship
As my senior year is ending and I embark on the next chapter in my life I have decided to name it possibilities. I have no idea what is going to happen next. In high school I knew what I would be doing every day. I knew that every day was a variation of the same routine. Get up, get dressed and go to school. Say hi to my friends, get to class to see the same people every day. I knew what to expect.
Now that I am going away to a new state. I won’t know anyone. They won’t know me. I don’t know what adventures life will have for me. Will I miss my friends, my family and the familiar? Of course, I will. Just because I will, I won’t let myself miss out on the possibilities that something exciting could happen. Who knows what is in store for me.
It’s a new start full of possibilities. Nothing has been written yet. I am finally able to decide what will happen next. I have the choice on what I want to do in life. What I want to study. This choice is exciting and scary but so amazing. For the first time I can control my destiny. I want to learn about so many things. I have received the foundation and I get to now use it to become the person I want to be. So many dreams. I can barely stand the wait. I want to start now. You hear people say slow down and enjoy the moment. When you know what you want to do with your life it is hard to wait.
The opportunities that are out in the world are endless. I want to see everything I can. I want to learn everything I can and find that one possibility that shapes me in who and what I will become. No limits on what I want to learn. I want to try to treat every day as a new beginning. Who I meet along the way. How will they impact my life? What will I learn from knowing or meeting someone? These are the questions that I ask myself. Oh, the possibilities that are around us all every day make my head spin in a good way. So, the next chapter in my life is called possibilities. The possibilities never stop good, bad or indifferent.
Fall Favs: A Starbucks Stan Scholarship
Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate is my drink of choice when the leaves start to turn colors of orange and brown. It means that all the best holidays are coming. The smell takes me back to elementary school and rainy-day lunches. The rain would come, and we would be stuck in the classrooms for lunch. No playing outside. No running around and throwing the football. Everyone would be super angry. I wasn’t happy either being stuck inside or missing out on running around with my friends. I knew something they didn’t though. Fall was here and that means so was pumpkin spice everything. This was ok with me because I knew I would get a special treat after class. All I wanted was that first cup of the season. The one that smelled of chocolate covered pumpkin pies.
Waiting for the school bell to ring and signal the end of the day was torture. The teachers’ voice I could barely hear for want of the warm beverage. The minute hand of the clock seemed to be moving backwards instead of moving closer to the end of the school day. Will the bell ever ring? I start to pack up my books hoping the teacher doesn’t ask me a question.
At last, the bell rings. I would race to the line hoping I would be first, and I could jump in the car. Nope someone would always beat me to the coveted first in line spot. Waiting and waiting one at a time until finally it was my turn. Would today be the day my dad would say, “First rain of the year must mean Fall is really here.” This would be my cue to ask for a treat. Dad, can we go to Starbucks?
Pumpkin Spice hot chocolate is my favorite drink, not just because it smells like Thanksgiving or because football season is in full effect. Not because the family gets together and celebrates the holidays. No, Pumpkin spice Hot chocolate reminds me of times of my dad picking me up from school and spending time with him. Having him listen to me and talking about my day. Sitting at a table just him and I. My dad no longer picks me up from school since I can drive. That first rain of the season though I picked my dad up a Starbucks and I get a pumpkin spice hot chocolate. We sit and talk about our respective days and enjoy the first Pumpkin spice hot chocolate of the season.
Disney Channel Rewind Scholarship
The two shows I would bring together would be Lab Rats and Kickin It. I think these two shows are both similar though different and could merge for an episode creating one of the best collaborations. The title of the episode will be called, “Kickin It with the Lab Rats.” The story would start off with the Lab Rats fighting some villains, who are way stronger than them and have way more fighting skills. The Lab Rats go looking for young teen people, who can fight. Then they go into the dojo asking if they would like to be bionic and help save the world from evil villains. Once they discuss with each other the semantics they all agree to help fight off the villains.
They went straight to the island, and they were given bionic powers based on what their personal skills were. After they were given their abilities, they had to immerse themselves into training to master their new powers, before they could go out and ensure the safety of the people. Once they have completed their training and are proficient with their new powers, they receive an alert. The villains are out breaking into a chemical lab for supplies. They head straight to the chemical lab and that’s where the fight starts. The Lab Rats and the Kickin It crew start taking the villains down. One by one from the weakest to the strongest. Once they defeat the underlings, they reach the leader. Fighting the leader becomes the hardest. Half of the Lab Rat and teens were injured and unable to fight. The team members who are still able to fight at the end use their combined powers all at once to knock out the leader and take him to a secure super villain jail.
After all the fighting was over with, they took the teens back to the island and told them they could not keep their bionic powers. They reluctantly said, “ok.” Once the powers were removed, they all asked for one thing. They asked for their dojo to be remodeled and to be updated with all the latest equipment and technology. The Lab Rats agreed that was a fair deal. A few weeks later their dojo was completed, and they started their training again. Everything goes back to normal as if nothing happened. That is the two channels I would merge and the episode that I would want to see and playout.
“Stranger Things” Fanatic Scholarship
The first person I would choose has to be Eleven. I would pick eleven for her powers because she could just use her powers against the new supernatural threat and use it to our advantage. The second person I would pick is Jim Hopper. I would pick him because he isn’t afraid of pretty much anything and knows how to fight, is smart in strategy and how to defeat supernatural enemies. The third person I would pick is Dustin Henderson. I would pick him because he is very smart, knows a lot about supernatural things and what their weaknesses and strengths are in addition to knowing how to stop them.
Those are the three characters I would pick to fight against a new supernatural threat. They were all picked based on what they knew and the strengths they would have against the enemy. The squad would have Eleven and Jim as the muscle of the squad. The other part of the squad will be Dustin as the brains and the strategist along with Jim also being a great strategist. The squad combined will be able to know everything about the threat, a way to attack it and have the strength to take it down. This is the squad who would defeat the threat.
Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
The aspect of Minecraft that stays with me is the freedom. The freedom in this game is one of a kind and it stays with me because it can build and do what I like. It stays with me because some days I feel like I want to build a giant building or want to build an underground base and the game doesn’t say no that’s not possible, but it lets do what you want. The other days I feel like exploring and that is what I just run of fly across the map with no limit of stopping me. What also stays with me is the multiplayer of the game and how you and your friends can build up your bases and fight each other or team up and make a giant home and just have fun doing what you feel like doing. One of my favorite things in the game is the animals, “except the spiders.” You have the freedom to tame a dog/wolf or get a chicken. You can even go to the ocean and see turtles, squid, dolphins etc. The best part of Minecraft is the options to do what you want and play with the people you want to.
Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
The best mode in Mario Kart and my favorite Co-Op mode is Grand Prix. This mode is my favorite because I am interested in racing and get very competitive when it comes to online racing. It also gives you multiple tracks to race on against the same people, so it is a fight till the last track. A memorable moment playing in this mode was when me and my friends got bored, and they really aren’t fans of Mario Kart.
My friends ended up downloading the game just to try it out. Afterwords I told them to join the race and we raced for hours. This was a favorite spot in my memory because they didn’t like the game, but once we all started in a race and started competing against each other we kept playing for hours. I’m reliving the moment because of the amount of fun we were having just chatting and racing each other trying to see who will have the most points out of the races. The main reason that Grand Prix mode is my favorite is because of that moment of me and my friends coming together and playing for hours. Having fun was one of the best moments that I can remember because it made us closer to each other.
Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship
The best and my favorite actor is Tom Holland. Tom Holland is my favorite actor because he connects to students and makes everyone feel like they can be him. Once he becomes spider-man he still shows that he is still a high school student who wants to have fun and get through school with great grades. After I see this, I think it could be me who can do something that no one can believe and still have fun getting through school but also be successful while balancing everything. The way in the movie that he balances being a superhero to a student makes you think that if he can got fight the villains and get up, go to school the next day makes me believe that I can push through the tough times in class get the work done and pass with outstanding grades and become the next superhero in my eyes. The way he plays the character and full shows how he is a student and acts how a student would in situations connects with me and how I view school and the world. The best spider-man actor is Tom Holland because he makes me believe that I can doing anything if I just push through and have the correct mindset.

I was administered an IEP during my elementary school years. I have a hard time listening to the teacher and understanding concepts verbally. I need to see what I'm supposed to do and have it explained to me how to do it. In elementary school and junior high, it seemed like the teachers didn't understand what I needed, which led to my poorer grades and frustration. In turn, I was depressed and sometimes defiant in class. Because I couldn't understand I didn't want to do the work.
During my freshman year of high school, our district made us stay home because of COVID-19 and we had to shift to online learning. My dad was home and ensured I was on task. He helped me get organized and explained to me each assignment if I didn't understand the instructions. He was there to answer any questions and help me complete tasks. During this time, I was earning high grades over a GPA of 3.50. I began to understand how to complete coursework, understand it and get good grades. I just needed to understand what I needed to help myself.
My sophomore year in high school was the first year I physically attended as the Covid-19 ended. I had my first Study Skills teacher who understood what I needed and was the first teacher who helped me excel in my learning. The RSP at our school has given me additional time for testing and a Study Skills class, where a teacher can assist me with any questions I may have.
