Wendy Alders Cartland Visual Arts Scholarship
Personal Statement I believe that art has the power to transform lives, especially for young people in under-resourced communities. Growing up, I found solace and inspiration in the visual arts, and I want to share that gift with others. This scholarship would help me turn my vision into reality, creating opportunities for young artists who might not otherwise have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. Giving Back 1. Establishing Community Art Centers I want to create community art centers in underserved areas, offering free or low-cost art classes, workshops, and mentorship programs. These centers will be safe and inspiring spaces where kids can explore their creativity, learn new skills, and build confidence. By partnering with local schools and community organizations, we can make sure these resources reach as many children as possible. 2. Creating Scholarship Programs To help talented young artists from under-resourced communities, I plan to establish scholarship programs that cover tuition for art schools, art supplies, and other educational expenses. These scholarships will provide the financial support these young artists need to pursue their dreams. 3. Offering Internships and Apprenticeships I want to offer internships and apprenticeships within my fashion and skincare businesses. These opportunities will give young artists hands-on experience, professional guidance, and industry insights, helping them build their portfolios and develop valuable skills. 4. Organizing Public Art Projects and Exhibitions I plan to organize public art projects and exhibitions to showcase the work of young artists in public spaces. These projects will include murals, community art installations, and gallery shows, giving young artists a platform to share their voices and talents with the world. Public art projects will also engage the broader community, fostering a greater appreciation for the arts. 5. Partnering with Local Artists and Organizations I believe in the power of collaboration. By partnering with local artists and arts organizations, we can provide mentorship, co-create art projects, and host joint events that highlight the work of young artists. These partnerships will help create a supportive and vibrant artistic community. 6. Art Supplies Donation I want to ensure that lack of materials never hinders creativity. By establishing an art supplies donation program, we can collect and distribute art supplies to schools and community centers in need. This program will provide young artists with the tools they need to express themselves. 7. Leveraging Online Platforms To reach a wider audience, I plan to create online platforms and digital resources that provide art education and opportunities for young artists. This could include online tutorials, virtual art classes, and digital galleries where young artists can showcase their work. Technology can help us overcome geographical barriers and ensure more kids have access to quality art education. 8. Advocacy and Policy Initiatives Finally, I will advocate for policies that support arts education and funding in under-resourced communities. By working with policymakers and educational institutions, we can ensure that the arts are a fundamental part of the curriculum and that schools have the resources they need to support their art programs. Conclusion Receiving this scholarship would enable me to make a real difference in the lives of young people through visual arts. By creating opportunities, fostering creativity, and advocating for supportive policies, I hope to inspire the next generation of artists and help them reach their full potential. Thank you for considering my application. I am passionate about making a positive impact and believe that with your support, we can transform the lives of young artists in under-resourced communities. Sincerely, Christina Odupelu P.S. Chellez Brand Scholarship
If money were not an issue, I would dedicate my resources to making the world a kinder and fairer place. My main focus would be on creating strong support systems for special needs individuals, children, immigrants, and women. I imagine setting up educational programs that meet diverse learning needs, building community networks that provide essential resources, and offering tailored services to help immigrants feel at home in new places. Advocating for women's rights would be at the heart of my mission, ensuring that women everywhere have access to education, healthcare, and equal opportunities. In the world of fashion and skincare, I would transform the industry to be completely sustainable and eco-friendly. This would mean promoting zero waste, using recycled or sustainably sourced materials, and ensuring that biodegradable packaging becomes the standard. My brand would lead the way, setting new benchmarks for the industry and investing in technologies that encourage recycling and upcycling. I believe that we can create beautiful, high-quality products without harming the planet, and I am committed to proving that sustainability and style can go hand in hand. Beyond my professional goals, I cherish a well-rounded and fulfilling personal life. I have a deep love for the arts—music, fine arts, and dance—which fuel my creativity and provide balance. These passions allow me to express myself and connect with others on a deeper level. I also enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time with animals, all of which bring me joy and fulfillment. Cooking and gardening, in particular, connect me to the earth and remind me of the importance of sustainability in every aspect of life. These passions and initiatives reflect my broader vision of a more equitable and sustainable world, coupled with a rich and diverse personal life. I am passionate about helping others and believe that my efforts can contribute to social justice, environmental stewardship, and the empowerment of underrepresented communities. I want to live in a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. A book that perfectly captures my essence is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. This timeless story of selflessness and giving resonates deeply with me because it reflects my desire to give back to the world in meaningful ways. Whether through sustainable fashion, innovative skincare, or community support, my goal is to make a positive, lasting impact. "The Giving Tree" symbolizes my commitment to nurturing and supporting others, making it an ideal representation of my values and aspirations. My journey is about more than just a career; it’s about creating a legacy of kindness, sustainability, and empowerment that can inspire others to do the same. Level Up Scholarship
Video games have been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember, leaving a profound and lasting impact on my personal growth, relationships, and creative expression. At their core, video games serve as a form of entertainment, offering a reprieve from the stresses and challenges of daily life. Whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed or exhausted, immersing myself in a virtual world provides a much-needed escape—a chance to explore new landscapes, embark on thrilling adventures, and experience moments of pure joy and excitement. However, the influence of video games extends far beyond mere entertainment; they have played a significant role in shaping my cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills. From navigating intricate puzzles to strategizing in fast-paced multiplayer matches, gaming constantly challenges me to think critically, adapt to new situations, and persevere in the face of adversity. These mental exercises have not only honed my analytical skills but also instilled a sense of resilience and determination that has proven invaluable in both virtual and real-world scenarios. Moreover, video games have been a cornerstone of my social life, fostering connections with friends, family, and fellow gamers alike. Some of my most cherished memories revolve around shared gaming experiences—bonding over cooperative missions, engaging in friendly competition, or simply hanging out in virtual spaces and chatting for hours on end. Even when separated by physical distance, online gaming platforms provide a sense of community and belonging, enabling me to forge meaningful relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Beyond their social and recreational aspects, video games have served as a wellspring of inspiration for my creative endeavors. The rich narratives, immersive worlds, and compelling characters crafted by game developers have sparked my imagination and fueled my passion for storytelling and artistic expression. Whether through fan art, cosplay, or original writing, I've found countless ways to channel my love for gaming into creative projects that reflect my appreciation for the medium and its impact on my life. In essence, video games have been more than just a hobby; they've been a source of joy, growth, and connection that has profoundly shaped my identity and enriched my journey. From the exhilarating highs of victory to the poignant moments of reflection, gaming has provided me with countless opportunities for learning, self-discovery, and personal development. As I continue to embark on new adventures and explore uncharted territories, I remain grateful for the transformative power of video games and the enduring memories they've created along the way.

From a young age, I have been captivated by the world of fashion and its ability to convey a person's unique personality and artistic flair. The concept of empowering individuals to feel confident and beautiful through their clothing choices is genuinely inspiring to me. Fashion has always been a way for me to express myself and showcase my creativity. The fashion industry is constantly evolving, providing limitless opportunities for creativity and self-expression, and I am thrilled to be a part of it. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the industry in a positive way by advocating for sustainable and ethical practices, ensuring that fashion continues to thrive in a responsible and impactful manner. This is why I am passionate about helping people find their own unique fashion sense and style. I want to empower individuals to express themselves through their clothing choices and to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. In addition to fashion, the world of fine arts has a special place in my heart. It enables me to convey my emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a way that words cannot match. The process of creating something unique and beautiful from scratch fills me with immense joy and satisfaction. The impact of art is not limited to aesthetics alone; it has the power to evoke emotions, spark conversations, and unite people from different backgrounds. Whether it's painting, sculpture, photography, or any other medium, fine arts are an essential part of our cultural heritage and history. I firmly believe that art can inspire and transform individuals, and I feel blessed to be able to partake in such a meaningful and fulfilling creative pursuit. My hope is to use my skills and passion for the arts to make a positive impact in the world. In conclusion, I strongly believe that creativity plays a vital role in our lives and can have a significant impact on our personal and professional growth. Through creative pursuits, we can discover new talents and passions that we never knew existed, leading to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. As a designer, I'm constantly observing and analyzing the world around me, seeking ways to incorporate what I see into my designs. For instance, I draw inspiration from the organic shapes of leaves and flowers, which have motivated me to create patterns and motifs for textiles. Additionally, I'm influenced by the clean lines and geometric shapes of modern architecture. Moreover, I find inspiration in the challenges and difficulties that people face in their daily lives. As a designer, I view these challenges as opportunities to develop creative solutions that can make people's lives easier and more enjoyable. The world around me is brimming with inspiration, and I'm always on the lookout for new ways to incorporate it into my artwork. It's a reminder that beauty and functionality can be discovered even in the most mundane objects and situations, and that there's always a fresh design challenge waiting to be tackled.

Jason L. Berry "Art Is Life!" Scholarship
Art is a form of expression that has the power to move people deeply and evoke emotions that we may not even know existed within us. It is a medium that transcends language, culture, and time, and can connect us to our innermost selves and to the world around us. To me, art is a way of seeing and experiencing the world in a different light. It allows us to explore different perspectives and ways of thinking, and to challenge our own beliefs and assumptions. It is a reminder that there is beauty and meaning in the world, even in the midst of chaos and suffering. One of my favorite forms of art is painting. I am always in awe of how artists are able to take a blank canvas and turn it into something that evokes such powerful emotions. The way that colors, lines, and textures can come together to create a mood or tell a story is truly remarkable. I remember the first time I saw Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night". The way that the swirling sky and the glowing stars seemed to come alive on the canvas was breathtaking. It was as if I was transported to a different world, one that was filled with magic and wonder. I felt a sense of awe and appreciation for the beauty of the world, and for the way that art can capture that beauty and share it with others. Another form of art that I find deeply moving is music. There is something about the way that music can stir our emotions and touch our souls that is truly powerful. Whether it's a haunting melody or a lively beat, music has the ability to transport us to a different time and place and to evoke feelings of joy, sadness, or nostalgia. One of my favorite composers is Abel Korzeniowski. His music is so rich and complex, and it speaks to the human experience in a way that is both universal and deeply personal. When I listen to his " Dance For Me Wallis", The song evokes a sense of elegance and grace. While it was not specifically composed for dance, I can imagine that it would be well-suited for a ballet or contemporary dance performance. The sweeping strings and poignant piano melodies create a sense of movement and fluidity. Overall, "Wallis" is a lovely piece of music that inspires the imagination and creates a sense of beauty and wonder. In a world that can often feel cold and disconnected, art is a reminder of our shared humanity and our capacity for beauty and creativity. It is a way of connecting with others and with something greater than ourselves. Whether it's through painting, music, or any other form of art, we can tap into the power of creativity and imagination, and experience the world in a truly transformative way. Design to me means expression. A career in fashion design would be a lot of fun for me because I would be doing what I have always loved. My passion for art has always been with me throughout my childhood. I know a career in fashion would not only surround me with my devotion but surround me with like-minded people who love to express beauty through art. I want to work with other artists who have a passion for innovation and bringing ideas to physical expressions that can be enjoyed by others; fashion design is a good way to express such creativity. Fashion to me is an art that can be viewed, and enjoyed by other people. Sharing art, and creative innovation is a passion of mine because art is much enjoyed when shared by others. I wanted a career that involved and benefited people. Fashion can affect the way a person views and expresses themselves. I love to be a part of helping people express themselves and learning to love themselves for who they are. The way we dress affects us all on how we feel and are perceived by others. Its effects are our aura, our confidence, and the overall perception of how we are perceived by the outside world. The power fashion has on the inside of all of us is a beautiful and innocent thing.
    Bold Creativity Scholarship
I honestly cannot remember the exact moment I fell in love with creating. All I can remember is the day I told my mom that "I am going to be an artist one day." I was five years old. She listened to me and never discouraged me. It has been about fourteen years now, and she has been my greatest supporter. The person who introduced me to fashion design was my mother, truthfully. I have always loved to dream and imagine, it is my haven. Design is my way of taking what I envision and bringing it into reality. I apply creativity in my daily life to solve problems around me and come up with solutions to everyday problems. Creating and generating new ideas excites me and gives me a purpose. Art and fashion have manifested themselves in my daily life by helping me draw inspiration from everything. Being the daughter of two immigrants has also helped me understand different cultures and arts around the world. It has helped me see the correlations we all share as humans. The way art can connect people was one of the reasons I fell in love with it. I believe the Bold Creativity Scholarship will help me further my knowledge of fashion design in college. My goal is to one day have a fashion house of my own. The Bold Creativity Scholarship can be one step closer to my goal.

    1. I deserve this scholarship because I can spell SCHULARSHIP. I think..... 2. Well, I just graduated High school. They told us that we are supposed to leave now. I was like so what does this mean... we like can't come back anymore. Luckily, I am enrolled in this strange and foreign place called college. They said I could like stay at their crib for some time. 3. An obstacle that I overcame recently was not losing my mind when Popeyes ran out of half of their sauces. That was truly unbearable.
    Pro-Life Advocates Scholarship
I have been raised in a Christian family my entire life and for as long as I can remember. I have always viewed abortion as morally wrong. I knew that God created us thoughtfully in our mother's womb. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 I learned about the gruesome actions done in abortion when I was a freshman in high school. I remember hearing on the news about protests for pro-choice. So I decided to research more, and I could not believe how wicked crimes were being done to the unborn child. I believe after conception there is a human life. A human life that has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. No parent, no person has the right to take away or give value to an infant’s life. I know even at my age that I have an unpopular opinion. But the way I see things is that the unborn child has no voice to cry for mercy or help. God has endowed me to be that voice for the unborn child. so I take that extremely seriously. Everyone who knows me knows that I am Pro-Life, and most of them don't agree with me, but I am not afraid of thinking differently. I think it is important for people who are Pro-Life to be confident in their beliefs and do what they can to take a stand for the unborn child. One thing that I find remarkable is a quote from one of my favorite pastors Jentezen Franklin. From my memory, he said that “in the United States you can go to prison for 3 years and be fined $5,000 for killing a Bald Eagle egg, but can kill the unborn human child and go free.
