What I want to do in life is to become a professional chef. I want to do this because cooking has always been in my life ever since I was a kid. I would always try to help my grandmother make a dish, but she wouldn’t let me. Once she left and moved out my mom and I started to do the cooking every day. For the first couple of weeks, I was the one to research recipes that we could make at home and I would help prep the aromatics such as garlic, peppers, and onions. My mom would work the meats and cut the meat. Then slowly I would start to take over and start to cook on my own. My passion for cooking has helped me in several ways. It helps me focus on something that I am good at. My anxiety has nearly diminished because of it. It makes me feel great to see people happy because they have tasted one of my delicious dishes. Most importantly, it brought my family closer together. My culinary goals are to get my associate degree in hospitality and take culinary certificate classes. After that, I want to transfer to a culinary college to do two more years so I can get my bachelor's degree. While in college I would like to work in a kitchen as a line cook and gain experience in working in a busy atmosphere. I want to observe and learn from the head chefs I met during my journey so I can continue to strive. My dream is to one day open my own non-profit business in underserved communities that would provide healthy meals to seniors, free lunches for kids during the summer, and dinners for families during the holidays. I got this idea from volunteering at the nonprofit my mother works for. They do incredible work for people with disabilities, and it brought me joy to help people in need. My goal is to brand my nonprofit and open as many locations as possible around the country. My nonprofit would not only feed the community, but it would also offer free cooking classes where people can learn how to prepare delicious dishes without having to spend a fortune at a restaurant. The goal is to bring people and families together through their passion for cooking, just as it did for my family. This ties back into the now, to start a business, one would need to put themselves out there. I’m currently trying to grow my social media pages and share my passion. P.S. You can follow my gram at chris_cookdelights. I also volunteer at events that have serving stations or need assistance with catering. I enjoy the fast-paced environment, and how they taught me to properly handle food and serve people. The best part is when I get to meet the chefs and taste the food. It motivates me even more to jump-start my journey. Receiving this scholarship is important to me because it would assist me in the beginning stages of my goal of attending culinary school. I am determined to work hard so that I can help the people around me. I believe the world needs more great chefs (like myself).

I also think to become a healthier person I would want to donate some money to gyms so I could partner with them or I could get my mom to give some classes since she is a gym instructor. At the end of the day that is what could happen and with this scholarship, I could make this dream a reality.
      Strong Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship
A culinary head chef isn't simply a good cook in the kitchen. They are a leader who arranges a bunch of tastes, methods, and personalities. A chef's job is much more than just making great food. It includes leadership. In the culinary world, a cook is a visionary who moves and guides a group to accomplish significance, all while conveying uncommon feasting encounters to their visitors. A chef must have exceptional culinary skills and knowledge first and foremost. This aptitude shapes the underpinning of their administration. They are skilled artisans who can turn ordinary ingredients into culinary masterpieces. Their expertise and experience inspire confidence in their team members and set a high standard for excellence. However, a chef's ability to cook is not enough to make them a leader. A true leader knows how important it is to work together and communicate well. They clearly convey their vision, outlining the desired outcome and team expectations. They ensure that everyone feels valued and motivated by fostering open lines of communication, which encourages creativity, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. Leadership by a chef extends beyond the kitchen; it stretches out to the turn of events and mentorship of their colleagues. They perceive the expected in every person and set aside some margin to support their gifts. A gourmet expert motivates development and gives valuable chances to realize, whether through instructional courses, studios, or involved insight. They create a culture of continuous improvement by investing in the professional development of their team, which ultimately benefits both the individuals and the organization as a whole. Additionally, a chef exemplifies perseverance and adaptability. The culinary industry is known for its high levels of stress and unforeseen obstacles. A pioneer resists the urge to panic even with difficulty, utilizing their critical thinking abilities to track down imaginative arrangements. They show others how it's done, showing their group the significance of self-control and genius, moving them to defeat impediments with effortlessness and assurance. Additionally, a chef is aware of the significance of collaboration. They encourage a feeling of solidarity among their colleagues, advancing a good workplace based on trust, regard, and collaboration. A chef assigns tasks based on each team member's strengths and weaknesses and gives everyone the opportunity to show off their skills. By utilizing the qualities of their group, a cook guarantees the smooth activity of the kitchen, bringing about an agreeable culinary encounter. In the end, a chef's leadership can be seen in the finished product, which is the exquisite meals that guests remember for a long time. A chef inspires their team with passion, creativity, and attention to detail by guiding and mentoring them. They motivate their coworkers to embrace culinary art and take pride in their work. In conclusion, the role of a chef extends beyond the kitchen; they are pioneers who develop a culture of greatness, move their colleagues to develop and learn, and make critical feasting encounters. With their culinary mastery, viable correspondence, mentorship, flexibility, and collaboration, a cook takes care of the body as well as sustains the personalities and spirits of people around them.

Cooking has always been my passion ever since I could remember. I grew up around cooking from either family or watching cooking shows on the food network. When I was nine, I would always try to help my grandmother make a dish, but she wouldn’t let me. She thought I was too little, so I didn't really expand on my passion. Everything changed when my grandmother moved away, and the kitchen became free. My mother began to take on the household cooking and she allowed me to help. I would research recipes and we would cook them together. We cooked different dishes almost all the time and gradually my mother started to let me cook more without her help. Cooking became such a huge deal in my home that our family made a game out of the dinners we prepared. The best-tasting meal would win the Head chef for the week. It was a game I often strived to win since I was so eager to show off my creativity. My passion for cooking has helped me in several ways. It helps me focus on something that I am good at.
