My parents worked very hard to provide as much assistance to my upbringing. They earned just enough to pay for our rent and utilities. I reached a point in my life where higher education is the only way to better my life. I want to break the generational curse that has been imbedded. I volunteered at an education center where my friend was an educator. After the first two weeks, I was hooked. Working directly with children broaden my perspective on my career path.
I realized children gravitate towards me, at first I was unsure until I realized I have a calming nature and with that, the children feel comfortable speaking to me and expressing their points of view. Working with children is rewarding; I realized I wanted to help the next generation of children by becoming a child Psychologist. I'm currently in college pursuing my Associate in Arts degree in Psychology by May of 2025. I will be transferring to an institution to further my education at a different university. I'm on an accelerated plan to receive a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology.
Furthering my college education is a paramount goal of mine. I desire to open my practice to create a safe space for children to develop freely and be able to voice their opinions, while strategizing ways to cope with the children's social psychology. I will learn to implement standards that help educate both parents and the community on the importance of mental health. My goal is to build a community to work alongside others that share interest in focusing on the importance of children's behavioral and mental state.

Today’s society is the reason for my fight. Being brought up in a immigrant low income family has always been difficult. I was not able to partake in certain activities like the other kids in school. I remember having to sell brownies and candy at school to raise enough money for my senior GradBash. As time progressed I entered my first year of college and the stress of being my parents caretaker has taken it’s toll, my grades started slipping by the second year of college, I was put on academic probation. I had to struggle to make ends meet and scramble enough money to pay for a few of my classes. The stress of money, dealing with COVID-19 and taking care of my parents has been quite difficult but I wouldn’t want it any other way. This only fueled by determination further into becoming a child psychologist. I’m currently enrolled in college and pursing my degree still.
Being present, tending and listening are a few factors I will utilize to better assist those in need of my assistance. I want to create a safe space for individuals to voice their thoughts freely without feeling judged. This method is to bring awareness to mental health. Volunteer work will be a factor, the company will be giving three free sessions to individuals interested in our services. The possibilities are endless that’s the main reason for this, to give a magnifying look into building a better society that nurtures the factors that are important to human development.
