FinalistBio
I am an intellectually curious, adaptable, and driven individual looking to leverage my finance, consulting, and teaching background to solve social problems. After obtaining my MBA, I intend to become a social impact consultant to help businesses, non-profits, and social enterprises maximize the good they do for society. Some of my proudest achievements to date are
-advocating for the first campus-wide gender-inclusive housing at MIT,
-providing support to female-identifying individuals in Boston shelter programs,
-helping adult English learners pass their United States citizenship tests, and
-tutoring 20+ Japanese students in English to prepare them for admission interviews to their dream high schools (an acceptance that shapes their university and career opportunities).
While I hail from the greater Seattle area, I currently reside in Kyoto, Japan. I teach English through the JET program in 6 public schools (4 elementary schools, 1 junior high school, and 1 regional special needs school).
