      My Brother's Keeper Scholarship
I will use my education to go on to college at Michigan State University to major in Nursing. I have always had a dream and a heart for helping others, even before having a secondhand challenge from someone in my family. Overcoming a hard challenge is one of the hardest things you can do. It is hard, whether it's tearing a muscle, breaking a bone, or overcoming a sickness. I live in a house of 7 people. I grew up constantly helping others and working around the house. Whenever I cleaned, helped my sister brush, or brushed my mom's hair, I always felt like I was helping them. I grew up and still loved making people feel cared for and wanted to help where I could. I find the movement of the human body, how it functions, and how treatments can improve the quality of life extremely intriguing. This topic inspired me to take on a Major in Nursing. I feel the need to help others mainly because people have helped my brother overcome something difficult. Earlier this summer in July, my mom received a phone call from my older brother. He had called us to tell us he was being rushed to the hospital due to his fainting being so dramatic at a restaurant with his co-workers. We rushed over to Grand Rapids as fast as we could. As we got there, he was there on the hospital bed, and he looked majorly distressed. My Mom held his hand and stayed with him, and my Sister and I held hands on the couch. We were terrified. After waiting for a while a doctor me in after giving my brother an MRI, and they found a tumor in his head. My heart sank into my stomach, and I cried with my family in the room. The rest of my family were rushing on their way, and soon, they arrived. All five siblings and our family were in there supporting my brother. He came out and was in pain, and we all supported him. This experience this last summer has pushed me to realize the tragedy people go through, whether it is tumors, cancer, or diseases. The way the nurses were so caring and kind is something that enlightened my heart. I was never sure what I wanted to do with my life until then. It opened my eyes to realize that I wanted to change someone's life. Being put through the hospital experience and how well they treated every patient was life-changing and was opening to me. It is something I want to do like someone did for my family. I have always loved watching people smile at new things that change them from overcoming a hard period in their lives, it brings me true joy. My brother's experience this past summer made me want to pursue this career of changing the lives of society. This will help me help society, overcome challenges, and make a difference as the doctors helped my Brother. This scholarship would assist me in my journey by easing financial stress and helping me pursue my dream. This scholarship will enable me to dedicate more time to my studies, community service, and other activities to my education. I want to make a change in someone's life and see that smile that makes my heart grow whenever I help people recover from a challenge as nurses did to my brother. This scholarship will enable me to dedicate more time to my studies, community service, and other activities to my education.

During my time in high school, I have been interested in helping others and the science behind it My Grandpa who was 90 years old died from skin cancer and old age on January 20th, 2024. My Grandpa was the perfect Grandpa for as long as I could remember. He read us stories, kissed us, and loved all his grandchildren unconditionally. He used to trick my Mom into thinking that because they were the Landuyt family, they always got extra sprinkles on their ice cream. He always wanted us to all feel special and loved, whether it cost him a little lie. Many years ago my Grandpa went to the doctor and was diagnosed with skin cancer on his ear. When my mom told me this I was sad on the inside, but I never really showed my emotions on him being sick. I didn't need to be yet because my Grandpa fought and kept fighting and beating skin cancer until it came back over and over again. In the year 2023, he had to get half of his ear removed because the cancer spread to his ear canal and all in the left ear. They thought that they had caught it for the final time. At least 5 different times my Grandpa was told he had cancer again, and all the times he fought and tried to keep himself around as long as he could. Finally, Grandpa told one of my Aunts he didn't want to fight anymore because he was old and was tired of constantly having doctor trips and medicine to take. On January 18th, my mom got a phone call from my Aunt, and he told her Grandpa had fallen, and it made my heart sink. I had a bad feeling that he was going downhill, but I didn't want it to happen, and even if I didn't show any emotion outward to my family, I was heartbroken. But I continued to keep it to myself. The next day, my mom got another call from my Aunt saying Grandpa fell bad this time, and he had to have several people help him up. I knew it was not good then, but I continued to keep it to myself, and the following day, he passed away. The Grandpa I loved more than any of my other Grandparents, was now at rest. I haven't comprehended it yet, but I am trying to accept it and think of the good because I know he would have wanted that. My grandpa is my forever role model, and I will always live by his legacy and words.
      Empower Her Scholarship
Empowerment to me is overcoming a lesson, a complex challenge, or an overcoming of life. Empowerment can be yourself or someone around in your life. Empowerment was shown in a situation this past year for me. Someone in my family empowered me when I came from a brutal life lesson and someone very special today. At the end of my junior year of high school, I did not know what it was like to face harsh reality, hurt, and insecurities that I didn't know I had. In junior year, an important figure in my life told me that I should be thoughtful about what I stand for, what I say, and what I can improve on myself. I never did listen to them or took in that advice until recently. I took advantage of the advice given to me and went on never understanding what it truly meant. Previously in my junior year, I had a friend I didn't stand up for because I wanted to fit in with a different group of friends who thought I was cool. So when the group of friends started singling out my other friend, I stood observant, not knowing how much more that one friend meant to me. At that time in my life, I just wanted to be part of a friend group who thought I was cool, and I thought I was cool instead of standing for what was right, and my first mistake was made. I did not stand up for what I truly believed in because I trusted that one friend more than those girls always had. Then, throughout my entire junior year, they body shamed, made fun of, and hurt my friend, and I let it happen. I never stood up for them. By the end of the year, I was done with hearing it all and letting it happen then realized that my friend being bullied was always better than those group of " cooler" friends. Then I brutally ruined my friendship with the "cooler" friends by saying something awful about one of the girls. Even though she was wrong, it didn't make what I did right and I didn't watch what I said. Then even through the summer after my junior year leading into my senior year, I did not learn that final piece of advice. What can I do about it? That summer, I always struggled with self-reflection, so over the summer leading into this school year, I worked hard always to know what I could do to improve myself. While that has gotten me a lot of places, I never applied that final piece of advice. One day, I finally realized how much that advice meant. So now I will always work hard to improve, reflect, and help others have it an easier way than I did because that important person in my life told me so, I should and will always listen to, my Mom. Receiving this scholarship would assist me in my journey by easing financial stress and helping me pursue my dream. This scholarship will enable me to dedicate more time to my studies, community service, and other activities to my education.

Finances have been a struggle for me my entire life. My family of 7 has been on food stamps, medicare, and my child's health care. It was limited to 1 vehicle when I was younger and it was a struggle to get around. I still have many financial burdens, but scholarships have given me a new opportunity I am grateful for. My school tuition is expensive, but it is possible because of scholarships given to me. I will use my education to go on to college at Michigan State University to major in Nursing. I want to first provide the information that I am attending Michigan State University and majoring in Nursing. I have always had a dream and a heart for helping others. Overcoming a hard challenge is one of the hardest things you can do. After college graduation, I have thought about becoming employed in an entry-level position at a company to gain skills and experience in a more serious environment. Even if the job is not in my work field or something I am passionate about, a real-world, full-time job can help you build your resume. I think it would be smart to do this because you can pay debt and gain even more experience in different environments After college, I also thought about getting a job and focusing on my degree. I want to also move home with my family and live there while working. After paying my debt, I want to get a job in a doctor's office. After spending a couple of years paying off student debt to the best of my abilities, I want to find my own home with my significant other. I want to search for a job in Michigan or wherever the world takes me. I want to learn to live independently, find a fiance, and learn how to manage my lifestyle. I want to grow up and learn how to be okay living with others around me in my home. Learning to a new life is hard to overcome, which is what I am looking forward to. I need to help others mainly because people have helped my brother overcome something difficult. Earlier this summer in July, my mom received a phone call from my older brother. I want to change or help as many people's lives as I can. My goal is to be a nurse who did something like other nurses did for my brother. I believe being a POC is a very important person in today's society with what experiences we have overcome over the past 4 years. The George Floyd Incident really made society shake their differences on what a person of color means or how people treat them. Being a person of color who is going to be a nurse is important for diversity in healthcare because it helps ensure patients and others in society from diverse backgrounds feel seen, understood, and represented. When healthcare providers reflect on their patients' racial and cultural diversity, it can lead to better things, such as communication, trust, and overall outcomes for society's health. Diversity is important because it will create inclusive and equitable health systems that meet the needs of everyone. This scholarship will enable me to dedicate more time to my studies, community service, and other activities to my education. This is what I will use my education for. I want to make a change in someone's life and see that smile that makes my heart grow whenever I help people recover from a challenge as nurses did to my brother.

From middle school until my senior year, I struggled with personal battles, self-reflection, and self-responsibility. I never considered what I could do better but instead focused on what others could do better. All these years, I was harassed, and I would always react poorly. This past year, I have had a person who helped me recognize the mistakes I was making. I again had the experience of someone harassing me and the friend who helped me through these problems. This person who pushed me and my friend put the test of new personal growth and maturity my friend had taught me. I applied everything I had learned and took in over the years of my life, and applied them. After the situation was put to rest, I realized how much better I felt and how much relief I felt from being mature enough to end the situation instead of pushing the problem. To this day, the person who started a lot of issues with me still harasses me and makes my life hard by harassing me in different classes. I have learned to deal with it and let them continue fuming over the lack of reaction I give them. This is a really big growth and step forward in my life because I could never take responsibility for anything, and this made me become kind and honest and realize my personal growth of overcoming something I could not accept for 12 years. Then, recently, after a lot of self-reflection, harassment, and working on myself, I have finally realized how much that advice means. So now I will always work hard to improve, reflect, and help others have it an easier way than I did because that important person in my life told me so, I should and will always listen to, my Mom. I live in a house of seven people. I grew up constantly helping others and working around the house. Whenever I cleaned, helped my sister brush, or brushed my mom's hair,I found the movement of the human body, how it functions, and how treatments can improve the quality of life extremely intriguing. This topic inspired me to Major in Nursing. I need to help others mainly because people have helped my brother overcome something difficult. On January 18th, my mom got a phone call from my Aunt, and he told her Grandpa had fallen, and it made my heart sink. A few days later, he passed away. The Grandpa I loved more than any of my other Grandparents, was now at rest. I haven't comprehended it yet, but I am trying to accept it and think of the good because I know he would have wanted that. My grandpa is my forever role model, and I will always live by his legacy and words. Its all for him.

I want to first provide the information that I am attended to Michigan State University and I am majoring in Nursing. I have always had a dream and a heart for helping others. Overcoming a hard challenge is one of the hardest things you can do. An option after college graduation to that I have thought about is to become employed at an entry-level position at a company to gain skills and experience in an more serious eniroment. Even if the job is not in my work field or something I am passionate about, a real-world, full-time job can help you build your resume. I think it would be smart to do this because you can pay debt and gain even more experience around in different environments After college, I have also thought about getting a job focusing on my degree. I want to also move home with my family and live there while working a job. I want to later after paying debt get a job in a doctor's office. After I spend a couple of years paying off student debt to the best of my abilities I want to find my own home with my significant other. I would want to search for a job in Michigan or wherever the world takes me. I want to learn to live on my own, fiance for myself, and learn how to manage my lifestyle. I want to grow up and learn how to be okay living with others around me in my home. Learning to a new life is something is hard to overcome which is what I am looking forward too. I will use my education to go on to college at Michigan State University to major in Nursing. I have always had a dream and a heart for helping others, even before having a secondhand challenge from someone in my family. Overcoming a hard challenge is one of the hardest things you can do. It is hard, whether tearing a muscle, breaking a bone, or overcoming a sickness. I live in a house of 7 people. I grew up constantly helping others and working around the house. Whenever I cleaned, helped my sister brush, or brushed my mom's hair, I always felt like I was helping them. I grew up and still loved making people feel cared for and wanted to help where I could. During my time in high school, I have been interested in helping others and the science behind it. Then, after all his procedures and surgeries, he soon began physical therapy after nurses and surgeons helped him. The therapists helped him get back on his feet and he sent us updates on his progress. This experience this last summer has pushed me to realize the tragedy people go through, whether it is tumors, cancer, or diseases. The way the nurses were so caring and kind is something that enlightened my heart. I was never sure what I wanted to do with my life until then. Being put through the hospital experience and how well they treated every patient was life-changing and was opening to me. It is something I want to do like someone did for my family. My brother's experience this past summer made me want to pursue this career of changing the lives of society. This will help me help society, overcome challenges, and make a difference as the doctors helped my Brother. Receiving this scholarship would assist me in my journey by easing financial stress and helping me pursue my dream. This scholarship will enable me to dedicate more time to my studies, community service, and other activities to my education. This is what I will use my education for. I want to make a change in someone's life and see that smile that makes my heart grow whenever I help people recover from a challenge as nurses did to my brother.

      Zendaya Superfan Scholarship
I admire her willingness to be open about many experiences. My favorite part of her career is acting, especially in Euphoria. The TV show shows a harsh, true, and realistic world of teenagers. I love the many characters she creates and how they all have there own perspective. It gives a reality of what people put on the screen about teenagers. My favorite perspective is Cassie. I enjoy Cassie's perspective because she deals with all issues. Mental disorders, abuse, divorce, death of others, drinking, drugs, and self-worth. Her perspective is eye-opening to me. Some teenagers struggle with things like that, and it shows how she deals with many. Zendaya truly showed what it is like to be in an abusive relationship, which is one of the most interesting things she displayed to me because I related to it at the time. She showed how anyone in Cassie's position is willing to ruin themselves to have something they truly want. Cassie was let down and put through extremely rough conditions with the psycho, abusive, and mentally struggling character Nate Jacobs. Nate Jacobs has his own story, which also involves struggles. But the character reminded me of the person I was with at the time. Drug addict, drinking issues, abusive mentally. It opened my eyes to the fact that I was doing what she was. I would do anything for the person I was with to stay with me, even if the interest was low or if he saw another person behind my back. It made me realize I had to change. This is why Zendaya is my favorite famous female actor. Her acting perspective to life has truly changed me to what I am now and how I am evolving from it. I admire her for what she represents and what she wants to share with the world.
