Volunteering
NHS — My role was to help people along with the giving blood process. This included making them feel comfortable at all times, talking to them when they needed it, and really just distracting them from the fact they are giving blood. I helped wherever possible.2019 – 2021Volunteering
Shop Class at Palmyra-Eagle High School — Our roles were to design and build hand sanitation stations for the school, sort legos for upcoming robotics classes, build devices for the Special Education Department, and finally we made saw-horses for the shop itself.2020 – 2021Volunteering
Independent — I set up tables, stands, garbage cans, signs, I drove in stakes and put up tape to map out areas for the festival. Finally, I helped carry picnic tables into position. I also directed which way runners should run on their 5k.2017 – 2021Volunteering
Quarterback Club/Football — I ran a football camp for Palmyra-Eagle Players. I practiced with them, ran plays, and did drills. I "coached" while also participating.2020 – 2020Volunteering
Athletic Booster Club — Setting up and cleaning up the annual Holiday Bazaar at Palmyra-Eagle High School. I also helped venders with the transportation of their goods and items into the school to be sold.2017 – 2021Volunteering
Hoops Club (Basketball Program) — Helping with/doing scoreboard, scorebook, and concessions. I also helped to raise money for the club by decorating and selling cookies at the annual Holiday Bazaar at Palmyra-Eagle High School. All of the money made went to the Basketball Program.2017 – 2019

Winner Throughout my high school career, I have been continuously called upon to lead. Whether it was sports or other clubs and organizations, I have been looked up to as someone to go to when in need. With the current situation of the world and Covid, my senior year of football was pushed back. With the month of August normally being a staple of hot and humid football practices led by coaches in preparation for the upcoming season. This past year was different and all dates were pushed back. I took this as an opportunity to help my teammates and my senior football season in general. I took on the task of holding captain's practices. Having no coaches allowed to help during this time, all eyes were on me. I had to balance the values of being a teammate and leader. I needed to make the most of each practice, pushing players as hard as they could go in the heat, while also maintaining the respect level from these teammates. I straddled the line of friend and coach, riding it into the season.
When it comes to what I learn in my STEM career and using it to make the world a better place, I will need to make the most of every opportunity I am given. When I am given the opportunity to speak up and make a financial decision for the company I need to do so. Giving the company my all and being honest throughout it all will be what is best for the company and its employee's lives. Being in charge of the records and finances of a company is a huge responsibility. I will be the one keeping the company in check and ensuring that the company stays upright. By being honest, using my training and speaking up when possible, I could help a company to save money, stay on track and even save employees from a loss of job.
I have always given everything I am a part of my all. It has always been instilled in me that I need to work hard and push for everything I want. When it comes to STEM and making the world a better place, I will always push to give my place of employment and even my community my best. By obtaining and holding down a job through the many opportunities given through finance and STEM in general, I can do enough to give back to the people around me who have shaped me into the person I am today. By giving my best to my job I can work my way up and gain stability. Once I have this stability, I can use my free time to not only help others with their finances, but also give my time back to the people that gave me their time in my childhood. This could be in the form of donations or volunteer work, which I have been involved with my entire middle and high school career. If I am able to succeed in finance and STEM, I can be the one making the world a better place by helping others reach their dreams in STEM. Maybe in the future I can be the one giving out a scholarship to those at Palmyra-Eagle. I can continue to be the one that people look to when in need.
