Football has had a significant impact on my life, and my passion for the game has helped to shape who I am today. Growing up, I always looked up to my dad for many reasons, one reason of many, is that he played Division II college football at Fairmont State University. My mom’s family also has ties to this sport, my uncle also played in college, for the US Naval Academy, so both of my parents taught me about the game from a young age. I have so many fond memories of watching football with my family. My dad and his dedication and love for the sport inspired me to start playing in 7th grade, and since then, football has been an essential part of my life. I could not wait to put on my pads and helmet for the first time. It is a core memory that I will never forget. As I have continued my football career throughout high school, I have dedicated myself to working hard on and off the field, and giving my all to the game. My efforts paid off when I earned a starting spot on the varsity team, both on offense and defense for three years. I also had the honor to serve as a team captain for two years. Being named to the All-Conference team for two consecutive years was one of the proudest moments of my football career. I also received the Wildcat Award, that is an award voted on by the varsity football team every year for leadership, perseverance and being a team player. This was another proud moment for me, especially because I was chosen by my teammates. Through it all, football has taught me invaluable lessons in discipline, respect, teamwork, accountability, and brotherhood. These are lessons that I carry with me both on and off the field. Now, I am extremely excited, honored and proud to continue my football journey at the University of Findlay in Ohio. It’s a dream come true to be able to play for such an amazing program and school. I am looking forward to growing both as a player and person. I feel as if one of the reasons I have been given this opportunity to inspire others. I am planning to use my love for football to give back to others who love the game, by mentoring younger players, supporting my teammates, and showing others the importance of hard work and determination. I am hope to lead by example, and make a positive impact on others both on and off the field.
