Bio

The last two years for me have been both challenging and a great experience.I got married and due to Covid 19 became an at home mom of 4 and decided to further my education. I received my Associates Degree in Cybercrime Technology in 2012 and if I continue to stay at the pace I am going will have my BS in Information Technology in December of 2022. I have been blessed to be able to focus on my studies and be at home with my kids, but after I receive my degree my youngest will be starting school and I will be able to get back in the work field.I hope to get a position as a DBA or work in the law enforcement field behind the scenes. I take my studies and every position I play very serious and I have no doubt that I will be successful in my future career.

    Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
My children have taught me patience more than anybody else. Being a mother, wife, daughter, and sister have presented some obstacles, but the patience I have developed has made me a better person not just for my family, but also for myself. I've always been the one to think that everything happens for a reason, and learning to be patient has taught me how to be calm even in the most stressful situations or when things don't go as planned. Because of my capacity to demonstrate compassion and empathy, I have developed strong relationships with family and friends. Patience enables me to make better judgments and be more receptive to change by reducing my negative feelings. So, as you can see, patience is vital to me since it makes me a better person.

Have you ever researched the significant contributions made by black women? Black women have to overcome the stereotypes that came with being both black and female. Despite the fact that she has stepped out of retirement on several occasions when needed shows her commitment and dedication and her love for what she does. She was also the first African American pediatric neurosurgeon. Alexa Canady is that remarkable woman.
    Cliff T. Wofford STEM Scholarship
Hello everyone! My name is Brittany Smith, and I am studying to get my BS in Information Technology. I am originally from Georgia, but I currently reside in North Carolina. I would describe myself as a visual learner and I take in information best being hands-on. I received my Associates in Cyber Crime Technology in 2012. Achieving that degree, I was taught how to investigate computer crimes and recover computer evidence. After having my last son, I decided to stay home for a year and further my education at Southern New Hampshire University as a remote learner. I started working on my degree in early 2021 and have put in so much effort since then that I was recently advised that if I continue at the pace I am going, I would graduate in October 2022. I have maintained a 4.0-grade point average and will be classed as a Junior in January. Needless to say, I am highly self-motivated and believe that I am capable of accomplishing everything I set my mind to. There will always be a high demand for skilled workers in the IT field. The more knowledge I have the better chance I have of advancing with good pay when I do get back in the work field. With the constant changes in technology the skills that will be taught during this program will help build my confidence while pursuing my career goals to be successful. With this degree, I would like to have a career in the law enforcement field, computer forensic analyst, or database administrator. I feel having the right skills to perform a job not only affects you, but it motivates those around you and creates a positive workspace. When I consider how I can make a difference in this world as a single individual, it appears to be a difficult challenge given everything that is going on. But, as I reflect, I have made steps in that direction, the first of which was to make myself a better person. I've grown so much and will continue to develop as I seek for self-improvement and a life with meaning. While I aim to get my degree, I will also work to improve my teamwork skills by addressing any shortcomings I may have. Working hard is essential, and I will constantly push myself to be the greatest version of myself and to do my given tasks to the best of my ability.
    Bold Self-Care Scholarship
Much has changed dramatically in the previous two years, and it has had a significant influence on my life. I became one with my soulmate, and soon after we both agreed that having me remain at home for a year or two would benefit us because we had just welcomed our youngest child, and childcare was so expensive for two little children. This was a significant shift for me because I was used to working, earning my own money, interacting with other adults on a regular basis, and having two brief breaks and one lunch all to myself. Now I have two little best friends who shout my name all day, follow me from room to room, and believe that my food is our food. I also have two older children that bicker over the other person glancing at them anytime they are in the same room, but I wouldn't trade my four bundles of joy for anything. My answer to dealing with my madhouse is to take a weekend off every two months. I am free of children and a needy spouse, and the greatest part is that I can eat anything I want without having to share. Taking time for myself has a significant impact on my mental, emotional, and decision-making abilities. Self-care enables me to be the greatest version of myself for my family and, more importantly, for myself.
