I want to practice law because I believe in the transformative power of justice to create lasting change for individuals and communities. Growing up in a community deeply affected by systemic inequities, I saw firsthand how the lack of legal representation perpetuates cycles of poverty and incarceration. Witnessing these challenges inspired me to become an advocate for marginalized populations and ensure that justice is accessible to all, not just those with privilege or resources. My passion for the law is rooted in personal experiences that have shaped my understanding of fairness and justice. Growing up, I watched friends, family, and neighbors become victims of a legal system that often prioritized punishment over rehabilitation. Many lacked the knowledge or resources to navigate the system effectively, leaving them powerless in courtrooms where their futures were decided. These experiences instilled in me a desire to change the narrative for individuals dismissed or overlooked by society. Through my work with Fatherhood of Felons Inc., a nonprofit I founded, I have witnessed the life-changing impact of legal advocacy. Our organization provides expungement services, parole hearing preparation, and legal aid clinics to help individuals reclaim their lives after incarceration. These efforts have reinforced my belief in the importance of skilled, compassionate attorneys who can stand with those facing systemic barriers. Working with individuals on their legal journeys has shown me how critical it is to have knowledgeable advocates who are committed to justice and fairness. Practicing law offers the unique opportunity to address systemic inequities at their root. For me, the law is more than a set of rules—it is a tool to challenge injustice, empower individuals, and create meaningful structural change. I am particularly drawn to areas of law that intersect with social justice, including criminal defense, civil rights, and public interest law. By advocating for equitable treatment, fair sentencing, and access to resources, I aim to dismantle the barriers that prevent many from achieving justice and equality. In addition to addressing systemic issues, I see the law as a way to empower communities through education and representation. Many individuals in underserved neighborhoods lack basic knowledge of their rights, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation. As an attorney, I want to bridge this gap by providing accessible legal education and representation. I believe that understanding one’s rights is the first step toward empowerment, and I am committed to using my legal career to uplift and support communities that have long been marginalized. While my commitment to practicing law is shaped by the adversity I have witnessed and experienced, it is equally driven by hope and a vision for a more equitable future. I believe that the law can be a powerful force for good when approached with integrity and purpose. My goal is not only to represent clients but also to advocate for systemic change that addresses the root causes of injustice. Through the law, I aim to bring compassion, determination, and a relentless pursuit of justice to every case I take on. Practicing law is not just a profession for me—it is a calling to make a difference. I am committed to giving a voice to the voiceless and ensuring that justice serves everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through the law, I aim to leave a lasting impact, creating opportunities and hope for those who need it most.

I am the founder of Fatherhood of Felons Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to addressing the systemic challenges of mass incarceration and poverty in underserved communities. Our mission is to break cycles of generational adversity by providing resources and opportunities for individuals to rebuild their lives, stay out of prison, and contribute meaningfully to society. This mission is not just professional for me—it is deeply personal. I grew up in a community where poverty and systemic barriers were a way of life, and I witnessed firsthand how these challenges trap families in cycles of despair. These experiences shaped my beliefs, relationships, and vision for the future. Growing up in a poverty-stricken neighborhood, I saw how limited access to quality education, job opportunities, and supportive resources created an environment where crime and incarceration became almost inevitable for many. Families struggled to survive, and hope often felt out of reach. These challenges taught me resilience and gave me a deep understanding of the systemic issues at play. They also instilled in me a belief that transformative change is possible when communities are provided with the right tools and support. This belief became the foundation of Fatherhood of Felons Inc., where we strive to create programs that address these systemic issues at their core. Through our work, we provide practical resources such as resume clinics, job fairs, mock training sessions, legal aid, and youth prevention programs. These initiatives are designed to empower individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to break free from the cycles of poverty and incarceration. I believe that every person deserves a second chance and that sustainable solutions require addressing the root causes of adversity. By offering gainful employment opportunities and legal support, we help individuals and families rebuild their lives and restore their dignity. Experiencing socioeconomic adversity has deeply influenced my beliefs and strengthened my relationships. It has taught me the value of empathy and collaboration, as I understand the struggles that many in my community face daily. These experiences have also shown me the importance of relationships built on trust and mutual respect. As a leader, I strive to build these connections within my community and beyond, working with allies who share our vision for equity and justice. My future plans are centered on expanding the reach and impact of Fatherhood of Felons Inc. I aim to scale our programs and services to touch more lives and provide long-term solutions for those trapped in cycles of poverty and incarceration. This includes developing partnerships with businesses, policymakers, and community leaders to address systemic barriers and advocate for meaningful change. I also plan to increase our focus on youth programs, ensuring that children in underserved communities have the resources and support they need to avoid entering the prison system. Ultimately, my goal is to leave a legacy of hope and opportunity in communities like the one I grew up in. I want every child to have the chance to thrive, every family to have the tools to succeed, and every individual to believe that they can overcome adversity. By addressing the root causes of poverty and incarceration, I believe we can build stronger, more equitable communities for generations to come. This vision drives me every day and is the reason I am dedicated to making a lasting impact through Fatherhood of Felons Inc.
