The value of an education has been instilled in me from a young age. I have watched my single mother struggle to make ends meet. She has expressed how she wished she would have finished school so that my brother and I could have had a better life. I plan to achieve what she was not able to by completing the Radiology program with your financial assistance. I would like to become a Radiology Tech to lessen the burden on my mother by providing for myself.
My mother is Mexican American with parents who came to the U.S to give her a better opportunity in life. My abuelo did not attend school nor did my abuela. My mother did attend college and received her associates. That’s as far as she got. She met my dad and had me which ended her college career. Fourteen years later she was left as a single mom with two kids and little income to make ends meet. She got a job working at the Health Department helping the public. Her paycheck is small as a vaccination clerk but loves what she does. This has inspired me to become a member of the health care community. I would like to contribute as my mom has all these years.
Right now, I help my mom with my brother by taking him to school and cooking for him. I also work a part time job to help with my gas. This financial assistance would allow me to move to Levelland, TX to attend the Radiology Tech program and live in the dorms. I would like nothing more than to make my mother proud. I would like you to consider me for your scholarships.

Growing up with a single mom has been hard money is always a struggle and me being the oldest I have to help my mom out a lot and help take care of my little brother.
Right now, I help my mom with my brother by taking him to wherever he needs to go such as to his workouts or anywhere he needs to go and cooking for him. I also work a part-time job to help with my gas. My mom has shown me that even if you're all alone trying to do everything for everyone it will all be worth it in the end, that's why I push so hard in school so I can show my single mom that all her sacrifices were worth it. Being raised by a single mother has shaped me as a person she's taught me how to be an independent woman and how to be strong when things get hard that you can't just give up. My mom is most definitely my hero and my reason for continuing to push myself so when I become successful I will be able to give back to my mom for her being strong for my brother and me.
This financial assistance would allow me to continue going to Levelland, TX to attend the Radiology Tech program and also get my associate's degree in applied sciences and live in the dorms. I would like nothing more than to make my mother proud. I would like you to consider me for your scholarships.

My name is Brianna Richburg and I am a freshman in college currently. A little bit about myself is I am 19 years old who is wanting to go to school for Radiology Tech and this is the job I've been wanting to do for a long time. My parents got divorced when I was in the 4th grade and have mostly lived with my mom and had to step up and help around a lot. I enjoy the outdoors a lot which I do with my dad a lot. I also enjoy reading it's a big part of my daily routine I read a little something every day.

Wellness Warriors Scholarship
College is a stressful environment and I am a freshman in college so believe me when I say it's stressful. Sometimes it's difficult to make time for your wellness but, I try my very best to make time for it. In the mornings and before I go to bed talking about my intentions for the day and what I want to get done for the day. Then, for my night journaling, I talk about my day and if I accomplished everything I needed to get done. The next tip that I enjoy doing is going to the gym in the evening to release stress and just do something to make my body feel good. I highly recommend students or anyone to get into doing yoga or cycling etc. Anything to get your body moving and help you release stress and clear the mind. Maintaining your wellness will help you succeed as a student because it helps release stress which is good for the mind and when you feel healthy you tend to do better as a student. I feel if students were to prioritize their health it would help keep students mentally ready to learn and feel more energized. As a college student, we're constantly going and going every minute and every second of the day. I tend to get overwhelmed and I have to take mental breaks a lot throughout the time I'm doing homework which is mostly in the afternoon and evenings. Another huge factor of personal wellness is getting into taking vitamins, I can't stress this enough. Take the required vitamins such as D3 and Vitamin C and for me since I am a woman I take a women's multivitamin. Vitamins are what help keep our immune systems healthy and also just make your body feel like you're taking care of it and getting the nutrients your body needs. College students would be so much more efficient in school if they took care of their wellness more and resources at colleges should stress that to college students and show the pros of having a healthy mind and healthy body. Personal wellness should be prioritized in college. I'm sure there are more things I could do on my behalf to become more physically healthy and keep my body in shape. Every college student should have self-care remedies to help them get through their college experience. I know me having these remedies has honestly helped me a lot and I hope to continue to grow more throughout college.

Bold Driven Scholarship
Hello, my name is Brianna Richburg and I'm interested in this scholarship because I come from a low-income family and I'm a senior in high school who plans to go to college to become a Radiology Technician. Ever since I was a little girl I've always had the biggest dreams for myself and my future.
I have many goals for myself and I keep creating more and more as I get older. My first goal for myself is to do a really good job in college and try my very best to get all A's in my classes. Another goal I have set for myself is to graduate with my Associate's and become a Radiology Technician. It's my dream job to be a Radiology Tech and I know it would make my mom proud to see me succeed and that's my biggest goal of all. Like I said in my first paragraph I come from a low-income family and my mom is raising my brother and me and it's hard on her because she doesn't get paid very much. By applying for scholarships I hope to win some and that is another goal. I want to win as much scholarship money as I can so my mom is having to pay for all of my college alone. Thank you for taking the time to read my essay, I hope you will consider me for this scholarship.
Bold Best Skills Scholarship
Hello, my name is Brianna Richburg and I'm a senior in high school who is interested in this scholarship. Every day I'm constantly trying to improve my physical skills and also personal skills. I have to say my best skill is being observant. I have other skills and abilities I'm very good at.
Being an observant person is my best skill because I tend to understand that person better or whatever I'm doing when I'm observing something or someone. I've never been a talkative person, so I tell people I'm an observer. Sometimes it's better for people to just listen and observe but, many people are better at things than others. I honestly wish I was a talkative person, but I feel more comfortable being an observer and listening to people because you can learn so much just by observing.
I'm improving my skill by trying to talk more so I can get a better observation about things. I feel that talking more while making an observation could help me understand better something. Another way I'm improving it is by improving the way I think about what I'm observing because sometimes I tend to overthink it and I just get confused about it all.
Thank you for reading about my skill and what I'm doing to improve it. I hope you can consider me for this scholarship it would be a huge help towards my financial needs for college.

Bold Hope for the Future Scholarship
Hello, my name is Brianna Richburg and I'm interested in this scholarship. This is a really good topic to talk about right now, especially since we've had a lot happen in the past two and a half years, well, almost three. Between COVID and everyone having to quarantine, the next big thing between Russia and Ukraine is known as "WW3". Right now everyone is thinking there's no hope for our future and things are just going to get worse. In my eyes, I see it just as all of God's plans he has more in store for us and being just don't see it yet.
One thing that gives me hope for a better future is God. Through everything, we've been through it's always gotten better at the end, knowing God has his plans gives me hope for a better future. When everything starts going to crap God is watching everything and he is planning on what he's going to do, also showing people that they need to have hope and trust he knows what to do. I've always put my trust in God when things are going wrong, putting all my trust in him. I know slowly the future will mature and hopefully, people will mature also.
Everyone is different though and people believe in many different things and think things will turn out differently from other things. I do have other things that give me hope that the future will be better but God would have to be my first choice. Thank you so much for reading my opinion on this topic and I hope you will consider me for this scholarship.

Sloane Stephens Doc & Glo Scholarship
Hello my name is Brianna RIchburg, I would love to apply for this scholarship. What are my most valued and quality characteristics I value the most in myself? I have many things I value about myself and I feel like the different characteristics and qualities I have are what make me an amazing person all around.
One quality I really value about myself is how kind I am to everyone. Growing up I've never had many friends and girls were never kind to me, it tore me down a lot when I was younger. My mom always told me it's jealousy and to always be nice to people because you never know when you might need help and being kind to everyone will make everyone want to help you and also be kind to you. I've always been a kind person I could never imagine treating someone the way people have treated me my whole life basically. Being a kind person to everyone makes you feel amazing for treating people nicely and making new friends because you're kind to them. Having this quality has opened new friendships, also opportunities for me. Kindness can get you far in life and so far it's been helping me on my life journey in a way. In my future being kind always to everyone will help open more and more opportunities and also make new friends along the way.
I also want to put a characteristic of myself. I'm a helpful person. My parents are divorced and my single mother takes care of me and also my little brother, my dad doesn't help take care of us. So, growing up since I was the oldest I was always the "next mom" meaning I need to help take care of my brother also. I've always helped my mom no matter what. She never has to beg me or bribe me to get me to help her because she raised me to always be helpful to everyone. I'm always willing to help everyone and I always try my very best to always help anyone and everyone. My characteristic will help me get far in life because if I help others I hope others will also help me in the long run.
Thank you for reading my essay and I would love to be considered for this scholarship as it will help me go to college and not have to rely on my mom to pay for my schooling all on her own.
Bold Happiness Scholarship
Hello, my name is Brianna Richburg and I need financial help to be able to pursue the career of becoming a Radiology Tech. I have a few things in my life that make me happy and enjoy life. Though, it's hard trying to be happy while being a teenager because a lot of these happen in your teenage years but thankfully I have things that make me happy.
One of the main things that make me happy is my family. I've always been happy around my family because we have such a good time when we all get together. Another thing is having an amazing boyfriend who supports me in anything I do and he also pushes me to follow my dreams even when I feel like I can't push myself. Recently it's been hard to find things that make me happy because my dad had told me he wouldn't help my mom pay for my college which I figured. My mom is my prime happiness because even though she doesn't make a lot of money she's going to help me in any way she can to help pay for my college. She is truly my happiness and I don't know what I'd do without my mom.
Bold Love Yourself Scholarship
Hello, my name is Brianna Richburg. I will be talking about things I love about myself and why. As a teenager, it's very hard to have self-love, especially in our generation today. This year I've been focusing on finding the things I love about myself.
It's hard to just choose only one thing I love about myself but it would have to be my eyes. I have beautiful hazel eyes and many people compliment me on my eyes, they're my best feature. When people first look at my face it's usually the first thing people see. I love my eyes because they change colors sometimes it depends on what color I wear or what kind of day I'm having. My eye color is usually bluish-greenish, but when I decide to wear green they'll be more green.
I know being a teenager trying to find something you love about yourself can be hard but, everyone is beautiful in their own way. I wish more teens can see no matter what you look like you're beautiful no matter what. I love everything about myself but if I had to choose one feature it's my eyes.
Bold Independence Scholarship
Being independent means being okay with being different from others and also okay with being alone at times. I've always been an independent person I like to think. I don't see the problem with being independent and being alone. You might ask why do you enjoy being independent?
Growing up I have always enjoyed being alone, doing things without needing someone there for me. Many people like to say I'm a loner because I don't like to hang out with people but, I feel like I get more things done if I do things independently. Even in group projects in school, I would much rather do it alone than have to rely on other people to help me do the work. Independent doesn't mean you dislike people or anything like that which many people think it does. I believe many people are very dependent on other people instead of being independent. When you're an independent person it allows you to do pretty much do whatever you desire and be able to get whatever you need to be done. I've always had trouble making friends because I enjoy my own company and like being alone. Being independent has had a good and also bad impact on my life because it's hard to make friends when you're used to doing things alone, the good impact is how I'm okay with being independent because it makes me a strong woman. I hope you will consider me for this scholarship.
Bold Self-Care Scholarship
Hello, my name is Brianna Richburg and I will be explaining my self-care routine. Everyone has their - unique ways on how they practice their self-care. I enjoy doing self-care because in a way it helps me calm my nerves, and also in a way it helps me just think about other things instead of school, work, or things going on around me. I have a few ways how I like to practice my self-care practices.
I like to do my self-care sometimes during the week and mostly on the weekends to help myself relax more. The first thing I enjoy doing is I enjoy journaling about my day or I like to look up different prompts for me to write about if I can't think of anything to write about. Another thing I enjoy is reading. In a way, reading helps calm my mind and helps me relax. Right now I've been getting into working out to help with my physical self-care. A huge self-care that should be practiced more is resting the body because teens and also adults stay up late thinking about life or things going on and we never give ourselves time to rest our brain and also our body. My dad has been getting into meditation and also likes daily affirmations. He said he notices how it's helped relax his thoughts and also helped relax the body.
Self-care has impacted my life in a good way it's helped my mental health a lot and it has honestly been a good feeling being able to practice self-care to mentally, also physically help myself. I believe everyone should have a self-care routine at some point in their week.
Melaninwhitecoats Podcast Annual Scholarship
Hello, my name is Brianna Richburg and I'm currently a senior in high school. I've always been very interested in the healthcare industry since I was around maybe 11yrs old and I could never figure out what career I wanted to do. I finally made my decision to for sure work in healthcare. I'm very confident this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
For my future career I've chosen to become a Radiology Technician and you might as why that job out of everything in the healthcare industry? I've always been good working with technology and i've also been very intrigued by the way our bones are and the anatomy of the body. I also think I would do really good in this career.
How will I commit myself to diversity within your respective choice of profession? A little background information about is I'm half Hispanic and also half Caucasian. I will treat everyone with kindness and respect no matter their race or their religion because everyone is equal no matter the color of their skin or what they believe in. Everyone there is for the same reason to work and become successful. My parents raised me to respect everyone no matter what because like I said we're all equal and should treat others the way we'd like to be treated.
My parents are divorced and my little brother and I live with my mom and we see my dad sometimes on every other weekend. My mom doesn't make much money and we honestly do struggle sometimes, I really want to attend college and get a good career that I like and will keep the bills paid. It's hard paying for college because my dad doesn't help my mom so everything is on her shoulders. This scholarship would help me in so many ways such as textbooks, money toward my dorm, supplies for school. Overall it would really help my mom out so she's not coming out of pocket so much money and this scholarship will help me be able to get the education I need for my job.
What goals do I want to accomplish within the next 10 years? I have many goals I have set for myself but I will give you some of them. One of my biggest goal I have is to make sure I graduate college because I refuse to fail everyone and waist all the money. My next goal is to become successful so I'm not struggling and not have to worry about not making the bill because I don't have the money for it. Overall, I hope in 10yrs I have my career I've chosen and show everyone that I did it and prove everyone wrong who doubted me all these years. Thank you so much for your time!
