      Bold Make Your Mark Scholarship
Over time I have thought about this question over and over again. However, growing up I looked up to a family friend and they were always helping people. In short, they always did their best in everything they did and helped people in any way they could. In my eyes, that's the type of person that I want to be. As for an impact, I would say that I want to be known as a person that worked hard not only for myself but for other people as well. I plan to carry out these goals in many ways. I plan on developing my skills and my mindset as an individual. This will allow me to help other people as well. This is due to the fact that I want to better me to better other people as well. In contrast every day I want to help other people as much as I can. Even if the event or task is small. I plan on helping in any way that I can.
Robert Lee, Sr. and Bernice Williams Memorial Scholarship
Throughout my life especially in the last few months, I have had to deal with my college decision. One of the biggest concerns for me is paying for college. My family is not willing to help me pay for college which results in me having to attend a school where the tuition is not too high. With that being said there are many things I have done to receive money to cover my college cost. I have been applying to scholarships that are in my community and online as well. Also, I have chosen to attend Widener University where I applied for many scholarships. Over the last few months, it has been stressful to manage the college process, while applying for scholarships, maintaining good grades, working, and even maintaining a social life. I'm very fortunate to have a community that's supportive of the person that I'm and the decisions I make as well. This is I why plan to help my community as much as I can in the future, and even now. My community runs donation boxes, which I volunteer at in the summer. It gives me a chance to get to know the people around me, as well as a chance to help people that are facing adversity. I have met all sorts of people that have faced many issues. And with that, I learned how to help other people in many different ways. Just talking and listing to people has gone a long way in helping them fix their problems. At the moment I'm very busy still with school and finishing my college process so I can't help my community as much as I would like. However, there are many opportunities this summer for me to help out. There are a numbered of events this summer that require volunteers and donations to run smoothly. This is when I plan on helping in the future. I also plan on helping out down the line even if I'm away. During the holidays I will be home from college which allows me to help out as well. Facing adversity is a tough challenge. I conquered my adversity by working hard in school and applying for scholarships. In return I have received money to help pay for college, however, there is still a long road ahead of me. I understand how adversity can be difficult which is why I plan on helping other people in my community.
      Bold Growth Mindset Scholarship
You can always learn something new every day. However, over time it may be hard to keep a "growth mindset". In my eyes, small goals are what keep me on track to keep a growth mindset. Taking on a big task may be hard, to learn and grow from. However, when you take that big goal and turn it into smaller goals, learning comes naturally. In return, you can grow from it. I also think about my goals in life. And if I want to achieve them I have to get better in everything that I do. And to do that I have to grow as a person. And to do that, I have to keep a mindset that will allow me to keep growing. Growth equals change, and when you change you get results. So in my eyes keeping a mindset that allows me to grow is everything to me.
      Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Being patient is very important to me. Throughout my life, I thought that being first was the only thing that mattered. Which would result in me rushing my work or things that I was doing. Over time I broke this habitat of rushing things. However, it was not an easy task to break. I have learned in life that being patient is much more helpful and better tailored to success in the real world. Being impatient is not only rude but only allows an induvial to attain success for a shorter period than being patient and maintaining success for an extended period. Throughout my life, I thought that winning was all that matters. However, my thinking changed over the years. And this was changed through my experience as a young adult. I care more about what I'm producing from my efforts than completing a task or doing something fast. In conclusion, being patient changed my life for the better. It changed the way I think, which made me into the person that I'm today.
      Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
From my experience studying is completely personal. Everybody learns in different ways. I used to be an average student, but when I changed the way I studied my grades drastically changed. I started to maintain a 3.94 GPA on a 4.0 scale, throughout high school. To do this I made a simple process called the "Study Break Down". Frist is step is to find out when the test or quiz is. The next step requires you to see how much time how to have until the day of the quiz/test. Then the most important part, find out out what is actually on the test. You need to make sure you find all of the material that you will be tested on. And if you are not sure, you should check with classmates or the teacher. Then you divide the days you have with the sections of the material that will be covered. For example a chapter 5 math test. There are six days before the test and five units of chapter five, So each day I would practice one unit, and follow that process. It's also important to note that if you have extra time you can get more work done. And finally, the next step is to find time to study. To do this plan out your day in extreme detail to ensure you have enough time to study and get work done. And when the test day does come, just relax and ace it.
      Bold Gratitude Scholarship
I think giving back to people is extremely important. Especially for the people that you care about. I think giving is a way to show gratitude. it symbolizes how much you care for an individual. And sometimes words are hard to express to someone, so giving someone something it's another way to say thanks for everything. To me, I love to give back because I like to my gratitude to people. I have a lot of special people in my life. And sometimes the best way to show your appreciation for everything they have done is to give. That's why giving is important to me. When I receive something from someone I always remember their kindness. The idea to me is that they did not have to give me anything. It was the kindness out of their heart to do that. I was always told to return the favor. The favor does not have to be right away, but it's the idea that you will help that person out. Or get something over time. This is to show your gratitude and appreciation towards them. This to me is why giving is important.
      New Year, New Opportunity Scholarship
My name is Brennan Zimmerman, and I'm a hardworking student preparing for college. I'm excited about new opportunities in the upcoming months. Such as new friends, new courses, and experiences that I have never been in before. I'm also excited to chase my goals in this new year as well. Such as my goals for my physique and my grades as well. I'm a very passionate person, especially when it comes to things that I love and like. I'm a very hardworking student, and person as well. This is why I take much pride in everything that I do.
      Bold Longevity Scholarship
I think there are many ways to live a long, healthy life. However, I would recommend a lifestyle change. In my eyes, I don't think there is one thing that you can do to live a long, healthy life. A lifestyle change can produce a longer life. In the last two years, I changed the way I lived my life. I started weight training six times a week and started doing cardio 6 times a week as well. Exercising has a lot of positive benefits. There are so many that it would be an essay long. However, the biggest benefit is it keeps your body running smoothly. This is important because if your body starts to fall apart you won't be able to live a long life. The biggest misconception about exercising is that all you have to do to get in shape is work out. This is part of it, however, most of it comes down to your diet. Diet is key to living a long healthy life. By eating the proper amount of protein, carbs, and fats you can live a long healthy life. and can't forget about your fruits and vegetables. I think there is a major aspect that people forget about when talking about a healthy lifestyle. And that comes down to your mental health. I think by removing negative things from your life, you can live a long and prosperous life. Overall being healthy physically is important, but you have to remember your mental health as well. To me, a lifestyle change is the best way to live a long and healthy life.
      Bold Driven Scholarship
I have many goals for the future. As a senior, I want to continue my good grades. And maintain a 3.9 on a 4.0 GPA. I want this to apply to college as well, I want to maintain the same excellent academics in the future as well. After college, I want to do many things. This includes getting into real estate, stocks, and achieving my dream job as well. My dream job is to be a business operation manager/director. This is based on my interest and the skills that I have. Overall want to be very successful and happy as well. And to do this I have to be financially free. That's my biggest goal for my future. Being able to do whatever I want while being financially free is my biggest goal. There are many things that I want to achieve in my future. I hope to come up and achieve more goals in the future as well.
      Bold Turnaround Story Scholarship
There was a time in my life when my life was not the best. I was in 7th grade at the time and everything in my life felt like it was going the wrong way. My grades were slipping, and my best friend moved away. Overall everything else that was going on in my life was going in the wrong direction. A lot of the people in my life were changing as well, and I felt like I was left in the dust. I felt lost and did not know what to do with my life. Really I had no idea what I needed to do. However I told myself I needed to make a change, and that's what I did. I started to run track and quickly became one of the top runners. Which also started to create positive changes in my life. I started to care about my grades and other aspects of my life. I met new people that I still talk to daily. There was a chance that I could have gone on the wrong path, but it turns out that I choose the right path.
      Bold Success Scholarship
I have many goals for my future. For me, I think the biggest goal would have to be time. Time is the most valuable asset there is. You can neither create nor destroy time. And to have a lot of free time I need to make a good amount of money to be financially stable. Which in return would allow me to have a lot of free time. With this free time, I could spend more time with my family and friends. And even explore all parts of the world. To me, that is my biggest goal in the future. Free time is very rare for adults. Most people get stuck in the 9-5 and regret stuff they always wanted to do. That's one thing that I never want to happen to me. As a result, I need to be financially stable in order to do this. So having time in the future is my biggest goal.
      Bold Bravery Scholarship
To me living boldly and being brave means everything to me. I live my life with the thinking of being true to myself. This means that every day I don't back down on what I stand for or believe in. I also make sure to practice trying new things. When I was little I used to be afraid of doing things that are new to me. However, that changed in the last couple of years. Every day I make it a goal to try something new or do something that I haven't done yet. This is because I want to live a life that I have no regrets about events that transpired in my life. And the idea that you might discover something new that you absolutely enjoy. That's why I make it a habit to live boldly and be brave. It may not be easy sometimes however I always try my best to live my life this way.
      Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
To me, having confidence means many things. However, I think the way I interpret it is having a sense of pride and belief in yourself. This can be any solution, that I think this can apply to. To me, that's what confidence means. Growing up I was never really had confidence in myself. The only thing I was really good at was sports. Other students were a lot better than me at schoolwork, which made me feel left out. This changed however when I was in 7th grade. I had a teacher that told me to trust and belief in my abilities as a student. Which really meant a lot to me at the time. This gave me tons of confidence which eventually translated to good results. I started to receive A's, which I need up to get all throughout high school. There are still things that I'm not super confident at yet. However, I want that way of thinking to change. So I'm always working on approving my confidence as a whole every single day.
      Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
From my experience studying is completely personal. Everybody learns in different ways. I used to be an average student, but when I changed the way I studied my grades drastically changed. To do this plain out your day in extreme detail to ensure you have enough time to study and get work done. And when the test day does come, just relax and ace it.
      Bold Encouraging Others Scholarship
From my experience, the people around you influence who you are as a person. Not only that but if you treat them a certain way that will in return treat you the same. That's the beautiful thing about having people around you. So I always make sure I do my best to encourage the people that are around me. Not only will they help me, but they better themselves as well. Which makes me very happy to witness. People are amazing, and people tend to dismantle their flaws. However, the best feeling is when you are encouraging them and they eventually succeed. It brings me bliss when I see these events unfold in my eyes. That's why I always strive to encourage the people around me. To do this I always tell them the truth even it is harsh. I think by doing this they can see their weaknesses and improve them. after that, I always tell them that it was easy everybody would do it. And the idea that nothing is ever just handed to you there is always a cost. That's how and why I encourage the people around me. From my experience, this has always worked with the people around me.
      Bold Self-Care Scholarship
Self-care is very important to me. I practice this physically and mentally, and sometimes that goes hand to hand. For me physically I always make sure I routine for my body to have proper hygiene. Which also helps me mentally because it just makes me feel good. I also make sure I work out six out of seven days of the week, which keeps my body strong and healthy. Mentally working out helps me out a lot. It allows me to clear my mind and feel refreshed. Without I don't know where I would be. This has made a huge impact on my life and has changed it for the better. Overall I also like to practice meditation which has really helped my mind and my body. It makes me feel more connected to the people around me and to myself. These are some of the ways I practice self-care. Without these things, I think it would be very difficult to function on a daily basis. That's why self-care is so important to me.
      Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
Friendships are a very important thing in my life. Having friends provides you with so many benefits. When I think of what do my friends mean to me, I think of one thing in particular. And that has to deal with bonds. We are tied to our family members by bonds, but that is because we are relatives. Making bonds does not have to be just with your family, it can be with whoever. That's why friendship is so important because you can have good people around you that mean a lot to you. So when I think of what friendships mean to me in reality I think of bonds. Bonds are very meaningful because it shows that you care for your friend which evidently can create a long-lasting relationship between the two of you. That's why I'm always grateful for the friendships that I have. And I hope that I will never lose these bonds that I created between my friends.
      Bold Goals Scholarship
      Bold Persistence Scholarship
Throughout my life, I have always strived to do better at everything I do. And as a varsity runner, it can be difficult sometimes to shave off time from your personal best. I remember for months I was not getting better even through hard training. So I knew that there was a switch that needed to be flicked. I started to put more hours in the weight room and on the track. And I also started to become more confident in everything that I did. Which really paid off for me mentally. A big component in track is your mental stance, meaning how you are feeling mentally. And after three weeks everything paid off. I felt like I hurdled over all the obstacles that were in my way. And I finally started running faster times. Having persistence can be very difficult. However, how you react and deal with those situations makes or breaks you.
      Bold Nature Matters Scholarship
Ever since I was young I always enjoyed nature. It's a big reason why I joined Boy Scouts. Throughout the years of growing up, I always spent a lot of time outside. It was only recently that I realized how important nature is, and that we should never take it for granted. Especially with our society day, nature is constantly changing as a result of it. Which made me realize how much I appreciate nature and everything that it has to offer. Right now in my life, I have been extremely busy with school, working out, work, and scholarships. Each day I give myself at least 15 minutes to go outside and go for a walk. This allows me to clear my mind and reset my frame of mind. This is why I appreciate nature so much. It gives me a chance to relax and enjoy myself in that said moment. That is why recently I have been appreciating nature more and more.
      Bold Reflection Scholarship
Over the last 6 years of my life, I feel that I have experienced the most change. I started to take things more seriously in all aspects. From school, sports, relationships, and things of that nature. This is why I'm looking forward to the future. I have very high hopes of what my future will consist of. Over the last few years, I learned that you have to work hard for what you want. A prime example of this is in the classroom. In middle school, I had to learn how to study properly and become better at learning in general. Which took time, however over time it paid off. I averaged a 3.94 GPA on a 4.0 scale throughout high school. I have many other examples like this on how I worked hard, but the point is my work ethic has become better. This is why I'm looking forward to seeing what life brings me next. I feel that is hard to say what exactly will happen in the future, but right now my priorities are to be hardworking in college. And counting out my senior year of high school with good grades.
      Bold Meaning of Life Scholarship
I feel that many peopel complicate the meaning of life. Overall I feel the main of life reveres the idea of why are we here? More specifically I think it means what you want to live for. I think your life should be whatever you want it to be, and that is the purpose of your life. Thus the meaning of life. Whatever you want to do in your life, should be the meaning of life. To me, that seems the most logical when talking about this topic. However, I also think that the way I look at the meaning o life can be different from others. Generally, I do think people think the same that your life is precious and you should make the most out of it. It all comes down to the idea of what do you want in your life, and what do you want to do in your life. To me, that's the meaning of life.
      Bold Speak Your Mind Scholarship
One thing that I value about myself is that I speak my mind. Ever since a young age, I was committed to speaking my mind on various things. I always try to stay true to what I believe in. Many people think that speaking your mind is a bad thing. However, I don't look at it that way. If you believe in something or value something why should you not be vocal about it? That's how I speak my mind, because if I feel a certain way about something I will tell people about that. That's how I am as a person. That's what I truly believe in. I stay true to myself and don't let others influence the way I think and speak. As a person, you should be able to freely speak about what you think or believe in. And other people should not be able to take that from you.
      Bold Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
Mental health is a big issue in the United States. Mental illnesses and mental health tend to be overlooked in our society. I feel the best course of action to help someone that struggles with mental health is to simply be there for them. I feel listing the person and understanding what they are going through is extremely valuable. You can get a better understanding of what they are going through. Which in return gives you and that person a better connection. I think it's important to make sure you make that person feel comfortable. Mental health problems are not easy to talk about. By understanding their feelings and what they are thinking you can generally help them through their problems. Whether it's helping them through their problems or providing a person to talk to. Everyone experiences mental health differently. Some have it worse than others. Until you can see how they are, it's hard to understand what they're truly dealing with. If the situation gets worse you can take them to see a mental health therapist who is a professional at what they do. However, I do think the best thing you can do for someone that is struggling with mental health, is to listen to them. Let them vent to you about what they are going through. Which gives you a better understanding of what they are dealing with. It's hard to open up to people that you are not comfortable with. This practical solution can really make a big difference in someone's life.
      Bold Fuel Your Life Scholarship
There are many things that fuel my life. However, the biggest thing that fuels my life has to be my goals. There are still so many things that I want to accomplish in my lifetime. So for that reason, I wake up every day ready to go passionate about what I have to do to complete my goals. I have all sorts of goals that are long-term and short-term. It can be simple as getting done your chores or long term like being very successful in the future. That's why goals are so important to me. I love to work hard for the things that I want in my life. And I do this through my goals in my life. I feel that everybody should find something that drives them to give them fuel to their lives. For me, my goals are what motivate me. And they provide me we fuel to my life.
      Bold Empathy Scholarship
If I were to share one sentence with the world it would be as the following show some empathy towards people. Every single person in this world has their own struggles. And showing a little more empathy towards people can make a positive impact on the world. The idea is that if we show some more emotions and understatement to people the world would become a better place. Lots of people are going through hardships and talking to them, can help smooth their pain away. Also even if people are happy, showing emotions and talking to them can make their day even better. By being kinder to people you can really make a big difference in someone's day. And if everyone in the whole world could be nicer to each other even by a little bit, then the world would be a happier place. With that being said I would say show some empathy towards people.
      Bold Relaxation Scholarship
Over the last few months relaxing has been very hard for me. However, there is one thing that has been helping me relax. And that's thing is working out. Working out not only helps me relax, but it clears my mind. Which in return it makes the rest of my day brighter and clearer. Which overall will make the rest of my day better, and more positive. I feel that relaxing is very hard for many people because I knew that it was hard for me. However, I think it's important for people to find something that helps them relax. If not your mental health will be worse than it should be. And you never want to worsen our mental health. So for me working out helps me relax. And working out helps my mental health greatly, which is healthy for the long term. That's why I'm so grateful for finding something that helps me to relax.
      Bold Hobbies Scholarship
Over the last few years of my life, I have developed many new hobbies. One hobby that I always had was reading. I love to read new books, for many reasons. For me, reading stimulates my mind and helps me comprehend new words. Also, I love to read the plots of the novels. My next hobby is working out. I love to keep active and make sure my body is healthy. To me, my health is very important. It also clears my mind and makes me happy at the same time. So I really enjoy getting a good sweat in. This can be from lifting weights, running, etc. My next hobby is community service. I normally do a lot of community service through Boy Scouts, however, I like to help out my community outside of scouts as well. I try to help out people whenever I can. It can be as simple as helping a neighbor bring in groceries or shovel their driveway. To me, these hobbies mean a lot to me, because I enjoy them.
      Bold Career Goals Scholarship
Growing up I had many dreams of different jobs that I wanted to pursue. However over the last few years I developed a passion for the field of business. There were many things that stuck out to me in the field of business. And one of those aspects was the diversity in different categories of business. I started to do research on each aspect of what makes up the business field, and I found a position called operations manger. This job is very important in companies because it overlooks all different fields in a business. They not only manage the business departments as a whole but they help out and see what can be fixed in each department. Which to me I thought was extremely important, and that’s why being a business operation manager is my dream job. They are extremely to companies and they get to look overlook all aspects of the company.
      Bold Make Your Mark Scholarship
Having a positive impact on the world can be done in many ways. I'm currently 17 years old and I joined Boy scouts at the age of 12. There were many reasons why I joined Boy Scouts, but the biggest reason was to make an impact on my community. By making an impact on my community I can help so many different types of people. Through boy scouts, I"m able to help homeless people by collecting donations for food/clothes. Which in my eyes helping people in my community makes a positive impact on the world. From a physical standpoint, scouts help the environment as well. We understand that nature is a very precious resource. So to help the environment we carry out service projects that allow growth in nature and the community. By participating in these events I feel that I make a positive impact on my community which leads to a positive impact on the world.
      Bold Acts of Service Scholarship
I'm an active member of the Boy Scouts. And in Boy Scouts, we participate in many different projects that benefit other people and the environment as well. Each month we perform different types of service projects. Last month we did a food drive to collect canned goods for the homeless in our local area. This is a positive way to help others in our community that is less fortunate. We also perform different types of projects for the enlivenment as well. Such as cleaning out water streams, or fixing the volleyball court at our local church. These not only help the environment, but it helps the people that live or live near that environment. Which to me means a lot. Performing these good deeds each month makes me happy from the standpoint that I can help others. And in the future, I hope to continue this deed of helping others.
      Bold Listening Scholarship
People undervalue how important it's to listen to others. I feel that people think about what there going to say instead of listing to the actual person that's speaking. And by doing this you truly don't understand what the other person is saying. And not only that it's rude to not give someone your full undivided attention when they are speaking to you. To me, that's very important when someone is speaking to me. I try not to think about what I'm going to say, unless if I really have to. This is because you may not fully understand what a person is saying until you give them all your attention. That's why listening to someone is so important. Of course, it's natural to think about what you're going to say next. However, by listing to someone or the people around you, you can show your respect to what they have to say.
      Bold Passion Scholarship
I have always been passionate about learning. I think learning is part of human nature, but it also allows people to grow as individuals. When you learn something new, your world can change for the better. Meaning there are so many benefits that come with learning something new. Even if you learn something small there can be many positivities from it. However, there are many people in the world that don't care about learning new information. Which to me seems very crazy. This is due to the fact that there are so many things in this world that I don't know about. and by learning for information I can become a better individual. It's not the aspect on which I am saying that I'm smarter than someone, but it's the idea of learning something that I never knew before. I'm always working hard to become a better person, and learning is part of that process. Without the passion to keep on learning I have no idea where I would be.
      Bold Best Skills Scholarship
The best skill that I have is what I call adaptability. Meaning depending on the situation that I'm in, I will adapt accordingly. When I was younger I realized that I had this skill. If I were in a situation I could react extremely quickly and turn the situation around for the better. There is always room for improvement in every aspect of life. This is a hard skill to improve because the situations can vary and happen suddenly. Over time I learned and improved this skill. I started to become more creative, and react quicker. Which has helped me out a lot in the last few years. I'm always finding ways to improve this skill. And the way I do this is by putting myself in situations that I'm not used to. By doing this I'm seeing something new, and as a result of this, the way I react will be different.
      Bold Motivation Scholarship
There are a few things that motivate me daily. And the major thing is my goals. If I were lazy or not motivated I would not reach my goals. And to me the goals that I want to achieve mean everything. And I really will never be satisfied until I reach my goals. So when I wake up in the ring and I feel tired or even not motivated I remember why I work as hard as I do. Motivation comes in different variants to people. However, if you don't have a goal or something to look forward to it becomes hard to be motivated. My goals are what motivate me on the daily basis. They give me a reason to keep working harder and become a better person as well. Without my goals and things that I want to accomplish in life, then I would feel lost. The goals that I will achieve one day are what motivate me on the daily basis.
      Bold Wisdom Scholarship
      Bold Turnaround Story Scholarship
There was a time in my life where my life was not the best.
      Bold Memories Scholarship
I have always been naturally good at things in life. Such as school, sports, and even things in everyday life. Thus I was better than most people at certain things. I always loved to win and beat my peers. This especially applied to academics in school. I was always good at science in middle school and got really good grades. However, someone beat me by a good amount of points on a midterm. And it made me angry and frustrated. This experience humbled me greatly. It also allowed me to grow and understand that there are people that are better than me at certain things. And I had a hard time accepting that idea. Mor eor less I did not want to accept that possibility. Over time I learned to accept this and work hard for the things I want in life. And I can say it was thanks to this simple incident in middle school.
      Bold Optimist Scholarship
Tough times are always hard to go through, but they are part of life. People are not perfect and never will be. However, there is one thing that I have always thought of when going through a difficult time. And that's the idea of understanding what is going on in my life. Meaning whatever I'm going through I think of it as part of the process. The process refers to my development as a person. Hardships and tough times are a part of what makes you into the person that you see in the mirror. I look at these times as a part of development, which makes me value and appreciate these times. Without tough times in my life, I don't think I would be the person that I am today. So in conclusion I look at the positives when I'm going through a tough time. I understand that this event will benefit me in the long run.
      Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
I think growth is extremely important for an individual. And one aspect of my life that I could never deal with was acceptance. Over the past few years, I could never accept certain things that have occurred in my life. However now I do, and I even embrace acceptance. I would always try to run away from my problems and never face them head-on. Now in life I accept was it given and I make the best out of each situation. There are things in life that will not go your way. And I would always run away from this conclusion. I am grateful that I moved past this. I learned that accepting who you are or what you have been given is so important. There are still so many things that I have to learn about this world and even myself, but this is a good start. And I am eager to see what is in store for me.
      Bold Caring for Seniors Scholarship
As a member of Boy Scouts, there are principles that you must follow. And two of the biggest involve being helpful and caring. I was always told the little things in life can add up to be the biggest things in life. A lot of my neighbors in my mom's neighborhood are elderly. Every week since the age of 13 I have helped bring groceries for my neighborhoods. I never did this for money or a reward, it was more from the standpoint of being helpful. This is something so simple but helps it really helps out the people in my community. When you get older it's hard for you to do tasks that used to be simple. And carrying groceries is a prime example of this. I think doing this task improves the lives of the elderly, as well as my life. It shows me how I should be appreciated for everything I have.
      Bold Climate Changemakers Scholarship
The climate is a precious asset that people take for granted. As a Boy Scout, there are many things that I do for the climate. One way that we help the climate is by doing service projects. There are many types of service projects that we do. However, a recent example that we performed was cleaning a stream that leads to a river. We removed the build-up in the stream to ensure the water could travel smoothly into the river. That's one of the many things I like about scouts because we can help our community and the climate as well. We perform these projects monthly. On the other hand, there are simple things that I do daily that help the climate. Such as picking up trash that I see in nature, and in public places. This simple process helps the environment and the aspects that make up the environment. Another simple task that I do and everybody should do is recycle. This simple task has many benefits for the climate, and it is not hard to do. These are small of the things I do to help and support the climate.
      Bold Financial Literacy Scholarship
The best financial advice I received is to spend your money wisely. To me, it sounded cliché or so generic when I was first told this. Then this idea had me thinking for a good while. I was told this at a young age when things adults said were meaningless. However, as a high school senior this principle is hitting home. The idea of being finically responsible was unimaginable as a kid. Whenever I received birthday money or gift cards, my first thought was to spend it on things I wanted. In the last couple of years, this idea has changed my point of view on money. I never understood the value of a dollar. And how important it’s to save money. I’m approaching a big turning point in my life at the moment. I soon will be a college freshman and an adult. College is not cheap and everyday life can be expensive as well. So now my finical decisions are crucial. I have to learn when to spend and save money. Which can be a very difficult thing to do. So when I think of the best piece of financial advice I have received, it has to be to spend your money wisely. Moving forward in my life I will take this principle to the heart. This is to ensure that I will be finically stable in college and after college. I think a lot of people look over this concept of spending your money wisely. However, I will make sure that I do not make that mistake.
      Bold Great Minds Scholarship
A person that I admire in history is King Leonidas I. There are a lot of people currently that I admire such as Elon Musk, but a person who is a historical figure is different in my eyes. Leonidas is famous for the Battle of Thermopylae. His army including himself constisted of 300 men, and they were able defended the pass through, were the Perison king was going to pass through from. Leonidas accomplished so much with such a small army. The idea that he was willing to scarcice himself for Greece was monomanetal. He was a role model on the standpoint that he was willing to do whatever it took to protect Greece. The events that took place at the Battle of Thermonplyae, lead the Greeks laterto win against the Perisnas. I admire Leadindas, because he showed the world what mattered to him. He was passionate for greece and the overall survival of Greece. And that makes me want to be passionate for the things I care about as well. I also admire King Leonidas because he was willing to do whatever it took to be susseccful. And to me that shows his true character. This idea also isnpries me to work harder for my goals. Not in the standpoint that I have to sacrifice myself, but the concept of working hard for my goals. And he also showed me that hard work breeds success. For these reasons King Leonidas 1, is a person that I admire in history.
      Bold Deep Thinking Scholarship
From a global standpoint, Covid-19 is still the biggest problem the world is facing. There are many challenges that the whole world has been facing with this issue. There have already been many things that each part of the world has done. However, I think there is a key vital point to ensure the closing of this problem. And that has to deal with the fact of eliminating the possibility of this issue being able to happen again. We already understand where and how this issue took place. As well as the things that caused the issue to take place. If we could stop this process from happening again there will be a bigger and better future. I also think communication is a big issue with this aspect. There are still so many people who are uninformed on Covid-19 as a whole. And to be more specific they don't understand where and the process took place. And this is not just in our country it is throughout the world. which makes it a big global issue. Moving on if there was a way that every country could be informed about these issues, there would be a better chance of slowing down the chance of a pandemic from happening again. With that being said I think the biggest issue in the world right now is Covid-19. This is based on a global standpoint, not as a country. I think by having people across the world informed on this matter, and educating people on how this happened we can stop a Covid-19 from ever happening again.
      Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
Currently, we are exploring the topic of mental health. This is the first time in history that we really explored the topic of mental health. Mental health is a big issue that has always been overlooked. There is so much we still do not know about it. However, we are doing more research into this topic. And our society as a whole has been more courteous towards this subject. I do still think there is a lot of work that needs to be done for this subject. I think in the past saying you have a mental health illness, people would look down upon you or say you're weak. Which is entirely not true. In our current society people still do this however I think that people don't understand how much of an issue mental health is. There is so much we still don't about this topic. And once we have more research and data it will be easier to di-stigmatize mental health. Lots of people know it's an issue, however, there are still a lot of naive individuals out there. Personally, I haven't had too much trouble with mental illness compared to what others have gone through. There was a point in my life when I had dealt with depression. This lasted over three months. The way I thought and acted was greatly affected. However, I realized how grateful I am for what I have in life, and realized there are people that are in far worst situations than me. I will say those three months were not easy. the things that I believed in were affected. I thought the things that I believed in were dumb or were not good enough. Over time I realized that I was wrong and I should keep faith in the things that I believe in. I thought overall that I was not good enough. And that the people in my life needed more out of me. Which was not true at that given moment. So overall during this stretch of three months my relationships with people took a negative turn. I thought that I needed to change everything about myself and that even included what I wanted to do when I was an adult. I thought that my current dream job was not good enough and that I needed something better. This is what my experience with mental health looked like. And overall I wish mental health was di-stigmatized. I do believe my experiences with this issue have opened up my eyes and have made me want to di-stigmatize the issue as a whole.
      Bold Simple Pleasures Scholarship
I think the simple things in life are sometimes better than the bigger things in life. In my eyes, I think simple pleasures are the best pleasures that life has to offer. There are a few simple pleasures in my life that make me happy on a daily. An example of this is when I wake up in the morning and go to the gym. That's a simple pleasure, but it makes me extremely happy. And it makes me look forward to going to the gym the following day. Something so simple has such a big return. Reading a book is another example. I love to keep my mind engaged, and reading a book accomplishes this task. This is another example that it's so simple, but gives me joy and pleasure. The little things in your life can give you pleasure that you never knew existed. These are some of the simple things in my life that give me pleasure.
      Bold Giving Scholarship
      Bold Loving Others Scholarship
Love is a beautiful thing. I think it is important to have some sort of love in your life. In my life, I have many people that I love and care for. And it's important for you to tell these people how much you care and love them. This can be done in various ways. However the way I show this is by showing people how much I appreciate them. I do this by verbally telling them or if I see something in a store that they may like, I will grab it for them. I think doing simple things like that is the best way to show a person how much they mean to you. It's the idea that it's not simple or too extravagant. More or less it's a medium. Meaning that it's just right for an individual. That's how I show my love towards important people in my life.
      Bold Joy Scholarship
To me joy means happiness. Or the idea of doing something that I enjoy. I try to implement joy in some way every day. This is important to me because without joy my morale will take a turn for the worst. And living a life with despair will only negatively affect you. So every day I seek and do things that give me joy. For instance, reading, working out and spending time with friends and family. These things give me joy in different ways. Also, the idea of finding and trying different things gives me joy as well. To me, this concept is very important. And I believe everybody should try to find at least one thing that gives some joy. Even if this is done in the slightest or smallest way. Joy in my eyes means happiness. And I enjoy and thrive on things that make me happy. So this is how I seek out joy in my life.
      Scholarship Institute Future Leaders Scholarship
Leadership in my eyes is the most impressive skill to have. And I feel that I properly demonstrate this skill on a daily. In sports, I was the caption of the varsity track, and by being a leader it was my responsibility to lead the whole team. when workouts were tuff or if people were discouraged it was my job to get them back on track. As a member of Boy Scouts, I live out leadership in my daily life. In Boy Scouts, I'm senior patrol leader. With this task, I must take charge of all the scouts in my troop. And with a large number of scouts, this can be difficult. Over time I became better at leading in many different ways. At first, I thought being a leader was all about bossing people around. I soon learned that was not the case. To me being a leader is guiding people in the right direction. I think leadership is a way for an individual to help and guide others. This can be done in a variety of ways. Such as teaching, helping, guiding, demonstrating, and even elaborating on a given subject. To me having great leadership incorporated all of these things. I don't think a leader should just take action with their words. It should be done by example and demonstrating. Speaking is only one part of leadership. People are different in many ways. So for some people leading by speech will not work and this applies vice versa as well. People learn in many different ways. So I think being a great leader demonstrates this idea that people work in all sorts of different ways. And having great leadership will understand and combat this way of thinking. To me being a leader is important. I like helping others and leading by example. The idea that I can help guide someone in the right direction means everything to me. So overall this is what I think being a great leader is all about.

      Bold Perseverance Scholarship
In my life, I have experienced many hardships and obstacles. However, the most difficult situation I've dealt with was when I traveled to Switzerland for Boy Scouts. For a few months, we trained to hike up the Swiss Alps. Once we started our hike in Switzerland we felt that the mountain was against us. It started to rain heavily creating slippery terrain, shortly after that it began to snow. The terrain was an absolute mess. Everyone wanted to give up and go back to base camp. That idea crossed my mind many times that day. At this point, we were halfway up the mountain which was about a three-hour trip so far. At this point majority of my troop decided that we should go back due to the conditions and fatigue. However, that idea didn't cross my mind at all. A couple of my fellow scouts and I that didn't want to go back down gave the rest of the group a speech. Stating that we came so far and that if we give up now that's what the mountain wants us to do. I blabbered the idea of testing how strong is your will to persevere and keep moving forward. Shortly after we began our hike up the mountain again, and three hours later we were on top of the mountain. Even through the worst conditions and fatigue, we persevered on.
      Bold Books Scholarship
I have read all sorts of books in my lifetime. However, the most inspiring book I ever read has to be Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven. To me, this book is very important. There was a time in my life when I felt down about myself. Everything in my life at that moment was going in the complete opposite direction. From school, sports, relationships, and overall everyday life. I happened to be on amazon looking for a new book for my AP English class and I stumbled onto this book. The next day I started reading the book, and my perspective on life changed. The book talks about how little tasks can add up to be bigger things. Meaning if you make your bed in the morning, you have already accomplished on positive task. And by doing this task you will want to complete other tasks throughout the day. Thus by completing one simple task it leads to other big things getting accomplished. After reading this book I implemented this idea into my daily life. And after that, I saw so many positive changes in my overall life. The best way to describe it would be turning on a light switch that you never knew was there. This book means a lot to me because it inspired me to a new way of life.
      Bold Independence Scholarship
Independent does not necessarily mean that you're alone. You can be independent, but still have people in your life. In my eyes being independent looks like an individual is self-efficient in their everyday life. That's what it looks like and means to be independent. One thing from a young age that my parents taught me was to learn how to do things on my own. Don't get me wrong at a young age I still needed assistance However, over time I got better and learned how to be self-efficient in doing certain tasks. And those tasks later turned out to be other things. Gradually over time, I learned how to be independent, and not rely on others. Now there are times in my life that I naturally don't know how to do something. And I have to learn it for the first time. Again naturally most people would ask for help, but by being independent, I always try to figure out the situation myself. Independence has had a huge impact on the person that I am today. Being independent has given me confidence that I never knew of, and even allowed me to become a better person overall. So being independent means a lot to me. Without being independent, I don't know where I would be.
      Bold Love Yourself Scholarship
The thing that I love the most about myself is my work ethic. I love this about myself for many reasons. Number one it helps me gets a lot of things done, and this makes me happy. And secondly, it gives me something to look forward to doing. My work ethic allows me to accomplish my goals and leaves me satisfied at the same time. Without my work ethic, I don't know how I would do most things in my life. For instance, accomplishing school work, working, and even sports. My work ethic has gotten me to be where I am today. And has allowed me to accomplish many things in my life. Which I'm extremely grateful for. My work ethic is a big part of who the person I'm today. And it has allowed me to love myself and the person that I have become. With that being said the thing I love most about myself is my work ethic.
      Bold Investing Scholarship
In the past year, I started to invest in stocks. And the biggest obstacle I ran into was the idea of waiting. I would see my stocks go down making me want to sell them immediately. However, I was told to wait and hold. This statement was told to me by my stock and investment teacher. I was explaining my situation to him, and he gave me that feedback. He told me to learn patience which I apply to not only investing but everyday life. Which to me makes it the best piece of advice I have ever received. A couple of months later the stock price had risen way more than what I bought it for. And it made me have a realization on how important patience and waiting are. Currently, I'm still using this idea to this day. Being patient and waiting is the best investing tip I have ever received.
      Bold Mentor Scholarship
I hope to be looked up to as a person that is reliable. A person that can help you out if you are in a difficult situation. Growing up I have had a person like that in my life. And they played a crucial role in the person that I'm today. And to me, that's the type of person that I want to be like. Being able to others is very important. I want to have a positive impact on other people's lives. Just like how I received guidance from another person. That's is the type of person I want to be. Being able to help people change themselves and become better people is the type of mentor I want to become. Doing this will not only befit others, but it will benefit me as well. This will help me become a better person and help others as well. For these reasons, this is the type of mentor I want to be.
      Bold Great Books Scholarship
My favorite book is called Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. I recently read this book for a literature circle in AP English. At first, when I heard that I was going to read this book, I was a little disappointed. However, my whole point of view on this book changed when I started to read it. And then it shortly became my favorite book. I read all sorts of books, but this book stood out to me compared to others. I think the reason why this book is my favorite is that it's unique. I never read a book like it. The book is very interesting in different aspects. For one there is no real narrator identified. Which was the first time I ever read a book that the narrator has not been identified. Moving on the book has many different timelines. For instance, there is the past, present, and future. However, these topics are explored with all different characters in the book. Which makes it very interesting. The book is also relatable in a sense. The book takes place in a pandemic. There was an outbreak of a certain type of flu. And it was extremely difficult killing a lot of the population. So the idea that I could relate to the book, makes me like it even more. Overall the complex structure and characters make the book very enjoyable to me. And the idea that I can relate to the book makes Station Eleven my favorite book.

Adversity is a hard thing to face, however, the way you look at it will determine how troublesome the problem will be. When I'm faced with a problem I look at it from a different angle. My way of thinking is that if I don't have obstacles or if something is not challenging then I will not learn/grow from the situation. To me, I look at adversity as growth. Growth is important for all human beings. So when faced with adversity I look at it from the standpoint that I have the opportunity to grow from the situation that I am in. Now how I processed dealing with the problem takes a few steps. For instance, I look at the situation that I'm in. Then I decided what is the best course of action that will benefit or help resolve the problems. After that, you must take action and face the problem head-on. If you don't face adversity head-on you will succeed. With that being said your mindset on adversity must change. Everyone that faces adversity should find something beneficial from it. For instance, I look at adversity as growth. And to me growth is everything. That's why I don't mind when I'm faced with adversity. That's how I look at adversity and deal with adversity.

Growing up I tried changing the way I acted towards people and I learned very quickly this is the wrong thing to do. I started to be myself and not change the way I acted, which in return kept me true to myself. Another thing that I do is stay true to my beliefs and feelings. I think this is the most important thing for an individual to stay true to themselves. Meaning in my day-to-day life I don't change the way I think or feel about things just because someone else felt differently from me.
