Bio

Hello! My name is Brenna and I am a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner student at the University of New Mexico. I have worked as a nurse for 10 years, and the most rewarding experiences I have had were while working on an inpatient psychiatry unit during the Covid-19 pandemic. During that time, I saw the large need for mental health care professionals in the state of New Mexico, which motivated me to go back to school. In my free time I like to spend time with my husband, our two cats, two dogs, and 5 chickens. I also do jiu-jitsu 2-3 times a week as a purple belt. Becoming a purple belt in jiu-jitsu is one of my greatest accomplishments, as most people do not make it past their blue belt. It is even more rare to do so as a female. Now that I am a higher ranking belt, I mentor new female jiu-jitsu practitioners which has been very rewarding.
