I, Breana Beltran , a first generation born Latina the daughter of two immigrants from El Salvador. Each parent had a different reason in background for coming to the United States. However their sacrifices and challenges that they have overcome created me to be a fierce and independent Latina. In the future I am hopeful and would like to become a wonderful physician that gives back to my community, Now your probably asking me how will I do this. It has been noted throughout my textbooks , studies and etc. that people on average do not attend a doctor office even if they need to seek medicine attention because the do not want to feel un-cared for or un heard. Therefore My positive impact on the world through my medical career is I want to change this. I want people to come into my office and feel safe ,feel heard. Everyone deserves to receive adequate healthcare. Everyone deserves to be heard, understood and make sure they are taken care of. Not only will I seek to provide the upmost comfort for my patients but i will make sure that the receive the best medical care. As a physician you are the spokesperson for your patient and you have to do everything in your power to make sure your patient gets the exams and medicines they need. However this is at times very tricky when dealing will patients that come from underserved community and lack the finances to support themselves and their families. Which is challenge because a patient can need a lifesaving medicine however if they do not have the funds for it they can’t get the medicine. Another way i would like to impact my community and give back is hopefully with the help of over minority physicians start a non- profit organization that seeks to help out these individuals by provide funds to cover partital if not all the life saving medicine they need. Also within the foundation I would seek for volunteers that can help drive patients to these important doctor appointments sometimes part of the problem of not attending their appointments is they have no means of transportation to get there. Now all this is and much more is how I would like to in the near future impact and give back to not only my Hispanic community but the world.

I am Breana Beltran , a first generation born Latina the daughter of two immigrants from El Salvador. Each parent had a different reason in background for coming to the United States. However their sacrifices and challenges that they have overcome created me to be a fierce, independent , Latina. Many say we are a reflection of our past however it is up to you to learn from the past and ultimately change your future. For is not how you start but how you end. My Dream from as little as I can remember has always been to become a doctor, to help others around be. To be a role model for other Latina girls around me and show that anything is possible. Many people always say to you , you future is a bright as you make it . However what happens when you future isn't as bright as you think it may be because well financially college is very expensive frankly any form of education is costly. You have a dream to graduated undergrad and attend medical school however a dark cloud of fianical burden is always above you. I want to change that I want to make sure that in the future my kids will not have to worry about this "dark cloud". I plan to overcome all these challenges and show that anything is possible.

Many say we are a reflection of our past however it is up to you to learn from the past and ultimately change your future. For is not how you start but how you end. Countless times I have gone to the doctors office with the family member who may not speak "perfect English". Now you’re probably asking yourself what point I am trying to get to. The point is many people do not attend a doctors office or even seek medical attention due to a miscommunication and language barrier that may occur when they are seeking medical attention. Many feel that they don’t get adequate care because their doctor doesn’t understand their problems. My positive impact on the world through my medical career is I want to change this. I want people to come into my office and feel safe ,feel heard. Everyone deserves to receive adequate healthcare. Everyone deserves to be heard, understood and make sure they are taken care of.
