From a young age, my father instilled in me a passion for aviation, even though he was not a pilot himself. His lifelong friend, a corporate pilot, would occasionally take him along on cross-country flights, and these experiences captured my imagination. Inspired by these stories and experiences, I’ve been driven to pursue a career in aviation ever since.
In 2022, I embarked on my academic journey at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), where I had my first real taste of aviation. The exhilaration of pilot training has been unmatched, but it has also proven to be the most challenging endeavor of my life. Despite these challenges, the sense of accomplishment and fulfillment I derive from overcoming them is profound. Achieving an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license is my ultimate goal, and though it may seem distant now, I am confident it will come sooner than I expect.
My time in college has been instrumental in preparing me for a career in aviation. It has taught me the importance of punctuality and preparedness for every flight and ground lesson. However, the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is the significance of self-motivation and discipline. Balancing flight slots, ground lessons, and summer courses to stay ahead has been crucial in advancing toward my goals. I like to show leadership qualities through my actions. I like to set the standard on what it means to be an aviation student by showing up on time and preparing as best as I can for each flight slot. I also help my roommate study who is a student pilot, so I like to share what have learned and test his knowledge as well to make sure he doesn't make the same mistakes that I did.
The aviation field’s demands are substantial, including the financial and entry barriers, but the rewards make it all worthwhile. I thrive on the satisfaction of completing difficult tasks and the discipline required to excel in this field. I am optimistic about the future of aviation and excited about the experiences and memories yet to come. My determination is fueled by a desire to make my family proud and to become the first pilot in our family’s history. This career path is not just a profession for me; it is a deeply meaningful pursuit that I am committed to with all my heart. I am determined to become a first generation airline pilot, and inspire the next generation to pursue a career in aviation.

My Pursuit In a Aviation Career
Since I was young my father has encouraged me to pursue a career in aviation. Although he himself was not a pilot. He has a lifelong friend that has a career in corporate flying and would have him come along for trips flying across the country. He had planted the idea in my head from a young age, and since then I can't think of anything I'd rather do than to pursue a career in aviation. In 2022 I started my academic career at BGSU and got the first taste of the joys that aviation can bring. From my first solo to my first XC flight, it has been some on the best experiences I've ever had. Although pilot training is very fun, it also was the most challenging thing I have ever done in my life which is why in the end it brings so much joy and meaning to the accomplishments. Getting to my final destination of an ATP is my life's work and although it may seem far away now, I'm sure it will be here before I know it. My private pilot training has already gone by super fast and I'm sure my instrument rating will too. Going to college has prepared me for a career in aviation by showing me many things. This includes the importance of being on time and prepared for each flight and each ground lesson. But what I have found to be the most useful is self motivation and raw discipline to get tasks done to a satisfactory level. This means taking off slots for flights and for ground lessons and taking courses in the Summertime to aid in achieving my dreams. And that is why I believe a career in business aviation is right for me. I love the feeling of completing difficult tasks and using discipline to get ahead of the curve and achieve my goals. I also appreciate this career field because the risk you take on to complete flight training is immense and this career unfortunately comes with financial burden as well as high barrier to entry. But that is why getting there is much more sweet than anything else to me. I am very optimistic about what the future of aviation holds and all the great memories to be made. I am determined to make my family proud and to become the first pilot that my family has ever had.
