I overcame hearing disability, along with limited job choices. Also, I have overcome being lonely by learning to network with people who are willing to help me in my journey. These challenges felt exhausting to defeat at times and heart breaking. There are times I wanted to quit because of how lonely this journey can be with the social problems that come from being misunderstood. I knew that if I gave up nothing would change, so I made a choice to pursue the challenge. I made this choice because I believe one day in my community there are going to be people who need an example of how to rise above these challenges and I want to be that example. I plan to be a positive impact in my community by bringing change to the silent voices in the deaf community, along with people who struggle with social interactions. I plan to impact first generation college students and other people who desire to drive change and create a brighter future for their families. These are the impacts I want to have in my local community and I will strive to make it better with the dedication and support of all the people in the community.
