To me, education means helping me reach my full potential; it encourages me to improve my intellect and provide others opportunity and vision to grow from my experiences. To me, education is more than just a diploma; it is an opportunity to grow as a person and become a better person than I was before. To me, education means being able to provide for my family in the same way they have and will continue to care for me. To me, education equals long-term success. Throughout my life, I have faced multiple obstacles that I have not let hold me back. I am the first person in my family to not only go to college but also graduate high school. This was not an easy task for me. I am the oldest of 4, my mother is a refugee from Liberia she didn’t pass the 6th grade due to her not being fortunate enough to pay for school.
I have always wanted to work in the medical field and be on the front lines due to me always being in and out of hospitals my entire life, from my grandmother dying from kidney failure to my brother having asthma to family members giving birth. I can never get the clean smell, monitor sounds, and chatter out of my head. Being a kind and sympathetic person by nature, I have always loved working to help others no matter the circumstance. I have stayed up sleepless nights to accomplish what my family couldn't do due to horrible circumstances. I have been through what I would call hell and back and I'm using that to fuel me to succeed.
My mother physically had to run from city to city to flee from danger and being killed because rebels were conquering cities and doing the most stomach-turning things to innocent people because of what was done to the president in Africa Liberia Monrovia. She eventually ended up at a refugee camp with just her younger brother and her older sister out of her twelve siblings, and her mother was left behind. however, even though the refugee camp was not the best, there was this nurse who treated her like a human and cared and stood by my 17-year-old mother's side until she boarded the plane to come to the United States. This is also a reason I decided to pursue a career in health because this field impacts and changes people's lives, even if they are not aware that they are doing it.
More than anything, I adore the medical industry. I have always wanted to work in healthcare I have always loved working with new mothers. Regardless of the circumstances, I want to do everything I can to make a woman's delivery experience enjoyable and memorable since being able to bring life into the world is something to be proud of. I made up my mind about whether I wanted to go to medical school or nursing school when my aunt decided to take me with her to the hospital as comfort after she gave birth, I was able to assist her and see the nurse's interactions with my aunt, she was kind, enthusiastic, and devoted to her work. My aunt and she both commented on how helpful I was to her, and they both mentioned that I would make a wonderful nurse. Ever since then, I have wanted to work as a postpartum nurse.

As a kid growing up, I got to experience a ton of traumatic experiences which made me the person I am today and have been pushing me to achieve going to school because I know others are looking up to me. As a kid I have a friend her name is Rejoice, and she is always joyful and happy always laughing I love her to the fullest we have been in each other’s life since 4th grade and as soon as 8th grade Covid hit, and we had to go our separate ways, and it really showed that the happiest people carry the worse pain or is going through so much, after middle school we went to different schools she didn’t really go to school she started taking narcotics and smoking and I didn’t find out until I have seen her walking around this fry’s grocery store we used to go to all the time after school, and it really was shocking I was so happy to see her but also hurt to see her like that knowing we had big plans for each other it really hurts to see it, so after I got to understand what went on while Covid hit, and after we graduated from middle school I convinced her to at least try to go to school and figure life out together, and she always calls me when she feels tempted or lonely, and I feel like if I can at least help her get back into the rhythm of doing homework and not depending on things that could be killing her I would rather be the support she needs and someone she has by her side than what she was doing and this just really open my eyes to see how a person can influence someone by just being there self and showing that if I can do it you definitely can because it’s never too late for anyone.
