Hi, my name is Brandon Holt. I am a senior at Nederland High School and wish to apply for your scholarship. I am an above average student who aspires to work in the forensic field. I enjoy things like investigating and piecing the little things together to form a conclusion. I work hard in the things I do and make sure everything is perfect. I have been a student in the music program for almost 8 years now! I have learned that music is the universal language and that it can change peoples lives. I want to pursue a career of music as well as a forensic career. I want to have concerts where I can play my trumpet to my heart’s content. I believe that I can inspire people to learn how to play a musical instrument and embrace a more colorful life. I think that without music, I would have gotten behind in school and ended up flunking out. It has pushed me to be a better student and person. I have a 3.5 gpa and I am continuing to push it higher and higher. With my dual-credit and AP classes, I can push my limits and learn stuff that stumps college students. Throughout my education, I have always wondered what it is like to be a teacher and see things from a. different perspective. I am currently taking a class this year called Instructional Practices. It allows to me to go to the middle school and teach students a little bit about music and myself. I believe I have inspired some of the younger peers to continue their paths with music and embrace a fruitful new passion. My goal is to inspire the youth to pursue a career that makes them happy and allows them to live successful lives. I want to ensure that our future is secure in their hands. If I was given the opportunity to speak to the youth of the world, I would tell them to never give up on their dreams and that you can only achieve them if you put your mind to it. I enjoy the satisfaction I feel after knowing I helped someone with something. I wish everyone was given the opportunities that I have been given in life. I understand that others may not have as much as me. I want to change that someday. I want everyone in the world to be given equal opportunity and equal representation in the world. I think if this was achieved, we could have a greater society and healthier planet.
