Bio

I really want to be a musical instrument repair technician and a music education major. Music is my passion and I've been playing Saxophone for over seven years now. Music really changed me and I'm hoping that I can give others a similar experience so that they, too, can find their passion.

Pursueing a higher education, to me, means to strengthen my chances of accomplishing my dreams and becoming a "first" in my family. My family has a long history of not graduating high school, let alone college. Even my oldest sister has had to pause her college journey due to a lack of funding. In order yo achieve my dream of becoming a Music Educator, I need to complete at least four years of college. Band has always been close to my heart. If it wasn't for joining the band at my high school, I would have never made it to where I am today. Band has given me more confidence and has given me connections to friends that will last a life time. I wish to become a band director so that I can give other young people the same positive experience that band has given me. I could live my life with a heart full of joy if I am able to achieve this goal. The world would be much to quiet without music, and I plan to add to the symphonies of this world and teach others how to make their own symphonies to bring their hearts and souls into the light. My family is unable to support me in my college journey due to their own financial struggles. This scholarship aould help me pay for my college so that I would not have to worry about money while I am working hard to achieve my dreams. Jacksonville State University is my dream schooldue to their strong music programs and their amazing marching band. It changed my life the first time I watched the Marching Southerners perform. I knew from that day forward that I needed to be apart of that. Since then, I have done everything in my power to prepare me for my future career and to become a member of the marching southerners. Fundinv is the only problem that I still face. Although I am already signed up for orientation, I still lack a decent bit of funding to keep myself out of crippling debt later on in life. Having too much debt can easily put a stop to my career goals. I need to be able to focus on my classes and my musical ability in order to be the best that I can possibly be to teach the newer generations how to create their own symphonies. With the help of this scholarship, I should ve able to achive my dreams. Thank you for reading.
