Hello! My name is Arisa, and I am studying to become a Biomedical Engineer, Computer Scientist, and Mathematician. My motivations lie in helping people, no matter the industry. Next semester, I will be conducting research on electroencephalograms (EEGs), and afterward, I plan to decide on a minor in Neuroscience. Having spent significant time within the hospital system, I am particularly passionate about helping patients with detection and treatments.
Within my university, I am actively involved in various clubs and hold executive board positions. I proudly serve as a senator and pre-college initiative chair for the National Society of Black Engineers. Additionally, I am Vice President of the Black and Brown Women in Engineering Science Technology Sisterhood. Furthermore, I am a member of both the Society of Women Engineers and the Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers.
I became actively involved during my freshman year because I wanted students who relate to my experiences to be able to envision themselves in leadership positions and succeeding in academia.
