Bio

I strive to attend an outstanding college, major in business, architecture, or engineering, so I get a career in something I like to do. However, my main goal is to help my parents out financially. They have sacrificed everything so I can enjoy my life. I want to pay them back in the future, but take the financial burden off them now. I have always been passionate about building and designing. At a young age I would find myself interested in HGTV and other home improving networks. Growing up I never let go of that feeling of wanting to build and design. As I apply to college I bring that passion with me to turn a feeling into reality. The world consists of many backgrounds and beliefs. I love bringing various communities together, so everyone can learn something new from each other. I believe as a high school student transitioning into college, scholarships will help my parents financially and will help me reach out to different individuals around the world, so we can come together to make the world a better place day by day.

Growing up as the youngest of four kids in the family, I learned quickly that money doesn’t grow on trees. With two brothers attending college and me soon joining them, the financial burden on my family grew. This realization struck me at the start of 2023. The new year came around the corner, and winter was melting away. My 92-year-old grandpa had moved in with us. Happiness ran through my veins knowing he was living closer to me than before, but this put a toll on my family as they had to start strategizing how to finance another body in the house. In a blink of an eye, it was summer, and the hole was dug deeper as my brother and his fiancé had moved in. Another body was added to the house on top of my parents, who are currently sending two kids to college. The headcount rose to eight. As the summer heat was rising, so were the expenses my parents were paying. To see them working countless hours to pay so everyone under their roof was comfortable, making sure everyone was insured in case of unpredictable situations, and making sure two of their kids were able to get a good education in college brought me internal pain. The idea of them having to pay their current expenditures along with my costs shattered me. I decided to get a job. However, the money I earned from my job barely eased the financial burden on my family as I paid for tiny expenses like gas. To this day, I have worked continuously and tirelessly, using every free hour to find a way to make money to help my parents. Now filling out applications for my second home for the next four years has been a challenge. I strive to attend an outstanding college and major in business, architecture, or engineering like my two brothers, but I mainly want to help my parents out financially. I want to help the hardest-working people I know, my mom and dad, by getting a great education and using what I learn to help them retire within the next few years. I do not want to see my mom work until she is 70; instead, I want to see her spend as much time with her 92-year-old dad as she can. I want to see my dad spend all the time in the world with the people that make him the happiest, his family. My parents have made an unlimited amount of sacrifices to make my brothers and me happy. Not only do I want to help my parents financially, but I also want to help them get something that no one can pay to get back: time.
