Legend has it that Zeus, the mighty god, divided their hearts into two, creating two separate beings with only two arms, two legs, and one face each. Somewhere on this earth lies our other half, the other half completing our heart. It sounds crazy but captivating in my eyes. I have always had a soft spot for romance, enemies to lovers, love triangles, and impossible love. Something else I love is law, especially Supreme Court Cases. From Marbury v. Madison (creating judicial review) to a recent one, Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard (overturning 45 years of legal precedent on affirmative action). I love learning and researching Supreme Court cases. Mixing my love for romance and law, my favorite court case, Loving v. Virginia. The Lovings were prosecuted for their interracial love; they fought for their right to marriage. After a long battle, their love won. Attending university and studying law fills me with awe and excitement. I aim to advocate for those who face legal challenges and ensure their rights are protected, regardless of their legal status, race, ethnicity, or gender. I will major in political science and specialize in immigration law with a minor in civil rights. Growing up in a first-generation low-income immigrant family has opened my eyes to the struggles and injustices faced in my community. I understand it is not just my community. I am determined to fight for a future where the American Dream is accessible to everyone. I would love to create a charity called American Sueños organization. Its purpose would be to guarantee that every individual in America has an equal chance to pursue their dreams and ambitions. The foundation will offer free legal assistance to those who cannot afford it, fighting against unconstitutional infringements. Additionally, it will grant scholarships to underprivileged groups such as minorities, low-income individuals, single parents, and first-generation students, empowering them to pursue higher education. Through these initiatives, The American Sueños would aim to reaffirm that the American Dream is within reach for all. Currently, I am actively involved in extracurricular activities that make a difference in my community. I'm part of the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Upward Bound, which helps low-income students access college experiences. I'm also a member of the Future Business Leaders of America Club. I am saving money to compete in economics and business law at the state convention. As part of the Student Government Association, I organize school events. I also participate in Literary Meet, showcasing my essay writing skills. In the PBIS Student Committee, we promote positive student behaviors. I'm proud to be part of the Youth Leadership Club and Beta Club, contributing over 40 hours of community service. Recently, I volunteered at a heartwarming Christmas party for special needs children. I am determined to persist in my community volunteering efforts and actively participate. My ultimate goal is to make a positive impact on the world through my actions.

My parents arrived in America with nothing but determination and a pocketful of coins, not knowing a word of English. They left behind their home, loved ones, and dreams, all for the chance to provide their future children with more opportunities. As a first-generation college-bound student, I carry their dreams, desires, and drive with me every day. My father, a construction worker in South Georgia, toils tirelessly under the scorching sun to support our family of six. I have witnessed his back turn red as a tomato from the relentless heat. In those moments, I apply lotion to soothe his discomfort, knowing that his sacrifices are not in vain. My dad always tells me, "Ponte las pilas, get prepared and give it your all." On the contrary, my mother had been employed as a housekeeper until she received the devastating news of her breast cancer diagnosis last year. However, I am grateful to say that she is currently making remarkable progress towards recovery. Before her diagnosis, I would assist her with her housekeeping job, but only during the summer and holidays, to prioritize my education. Despite the challenges, my mother maintained a positive outlook while working, although I could sense the exhaustion it brought upon her. Nevertheless, her dedication to her job as a housekeeper was her way of ensuring that my sisters and I had all our needs met. As a first-generation college-bound student, I often feel like I'm in a dark room with no visible door when it comes to unknown situations like college. It can be intimidating, but I refuse to stay put. The idea of attending university and studying law fills me with awe and excitement. I aim to be an advocate for those who face legal challenges and ensure that their rights are protected, regardless of their legal status, race, ethnicity, or gender. I will major in political science and specialize in immigration law with a minor in human rights. Growing up in an immigrant family has opened my eyes to the struggles and injustices faced in our community. I understand it’s not just my community.
