I can be summarized in a very simple statement. I will never give up. That is it. In everything I have done and will do I will never give up. I make goals and may not reach them but I never give up. I adjust and make new goals. My name is Ardelia but you can call me Delia. I am planning on pursuing an Education Degree then a Speech Therapist track after that in hopes of helping students with speech challenges grow and flourish and overcome and believe in themselves. I am compassionate. I try to better than I was the day prior and treat each person how I would want to be treated. I appreciate everything life has given me and plan to pay it ll forward one day. Thank you for reading about me.

Hello my name is Delia Parker and I will never give up.
I picked up my first golf club for the very first time when I was 15. I couldn't even hit the ball but I knew I loved golf and was determined to keep going. After trying on my own after joining the girls High School team I knew I needed guidance to improve and reach my goals. I began my golf lessons at age 16 and quickly began to improve. Golf taught me quickly how to be patient, work harder and smarter both in golf and in school.
I made more goals. I knew after one year playing golf I wanted to play golf forever! My 1A team made it to the state championships every year in high school. I proudly and humbly earned most improved player my sophomore year improving my golf game by over 22 strokes on average. I earned most improved player my junior year again shaving more than 15 strokes off my game. By the end of my junior year I was averaging an 81 scoring average.
I decided to make my next goal...to play at the collegiate level. I played in as many tournaments I could and continued golf lessons. My family is not a wealthy family but I had people around me that supported me, encouraged me and sacrificed for me and I am so very grateful. I now play Division 2 golf and am so very fortunate to continue my journey. I plan to play forever! I have a lofty goal of qualifying for the US Women's Amateur and that would be a dream come true. Golf is very expensive sadly and I can't play in all the tournaments but that is OK. I will keep practicing and never giving up. I will continue to make goals and never stop. One day I hope I can pay it forward and help others that came to the game late and help them reach their goals. This is my golf journey and its just 4 years old. I can't believe in 4 years I accomplished what was once never attainable.... to play golf in college. With hard work and proper guidance so much can be attained. I humbly ask for your consideration so that I continue my journey.
Thank you,
A very determined and passionate golfer...Delia Parker
