As a business undergraduate student with a passion for volunteering and a future goal of serving underserved communities, I believe that education will be a transformative force in shaping my path forward. My academic journey is not just about acquiring knowledge but about equipping myself with the skills and perspectives necessary to make a meaningful impact on society.
Education provides the foundation upon which I can build a career that aligns with my values and ambitions. By gaining a comprehensive understanding of business principles, economic theories, and management strategies, I am preparing myself to address the complex challenges that underserved communities face. For instance, a deep grasp of financial literacy and organizational behavior will enable me to design and implement programs that can boost economic development and entrepreneurship in these areas. Understanding market dynamics and consumer behavior will help me tailor solutions that are both practical and effective in meeting the unique needs of these communities.
Moreover, my education will enhance my ability to lead and innovate. Business classes teach critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills that are essential for driving social change. Through case studies, group projects, and internships, I am learning how to approach problems from multiple angles and work collaboratively to find sustainable solutions. These experiences are honing my ability to think strategically and act with empathy, crucial qualities for anyone aiming to make a positive impact in underserved communities.
In addition to the technical skills, education also fosters a broader perspective on global issues and social responsibility. Engaging with diverse viewpoints and studying the socioeconomic factors that influence various communities will deepen my understanding of the systemic issues affecting underserved populations. This awareness will inform my future initiatives, ensuring that my approach is both informed and inclusive.
Looking ahead, I plan to give back to society by leveraging my business acumen and commitment to volunteerism. One avenue will be through the development of social enterprises that focus on empowering underserved communities. By creating businesses that address specific local needs, I aim to provide both economic opportunities and tangible solutions to pressing issues. These enterprises will not only create jobs but also reinvest profits into community development projects, amplifying their impact.
Additionally, I envision myself actively involved in mentorship and advocacy. Sharing my knowledge and experiences with aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals from underserved backgrounds can inspire and equip them to pursue their own goals. I am also committed to supporting policy initiatives and community programs that address systemic inequalities and promote equitable growth.
Education will be the catalyst for my personal and professional growth, providing me with the tools to tackle complex challenges and create meaningful change. By combining business expertise with a deep commitment to social impact, I am dedicated to using my skills and knowledge to uplift underserved communities and contribute to a more equitable society.

In halls of knowledge, where dreams entwine,
I give my time and heart to shine.
With over seven hundred hours given,
To causes where true love is driven.
At Treasure Coast, where hope’s renewed,
In food banks’ lines, my spirit’s stewed.
I pack each bag with care and grace,
For those in need, a warm embrace.
With Cancer Kids First, through trials and fears,
I’ve walked with strength, dried countless tears.
A hand to hold, a friend so true,
Their courage grows with each I do.
In societies of honor’s gleam,
Spanish, French, where languages beam,
I’ve learned the value of diverse strands,
And shared the wisdom with helping hands.
In FBLA, where leaders rise,
I’ve sharpened skills to reach new skies.
With business acumen, I strive to mend,
The world’s vast challenges, to transcend.
NSLS and Phi Theta Kappa’s call,
To lead with heart, and uplift all,
Have shaped my path, ignited light,
To forge a future that’s just and bright.
I organized a food drive’s might,
With sixty-five bags filled just right,
For St. Lucie Council’s elderly,
To offer joy and dignity.
Giving back is more than deeds,
It’s nurturing and planting seeds.
In future dreams, I aim to steer,
A world where kindness is held dear.
With a business mind, and a heart so keen,
I’ll lead in ways yet to be seen.
Empower communities, make changes grand,
Create opportunities, lend a helping hand.
Through innovations, and ethical trends,
I'll craft solutions, make amends.
Sustainability in every choice,
To give the planet a stronger voice.
Education’s light I’ll spread afar,
In every region, near and far.
Mentorship for the next to rise,
To see the world through hopeful eyes.
From classrooms bright to boardroom floors,
I’ll champion values that open doors.
In every project, every plan,
I’ll strive to build a better land.
Through actions small and visions wide,
I’ll guide with heart and strength and pride.
The future’s crafted with every deed,
A world where all can plant their seed.
So as I give and as I plan,
I’ll mold a world, with a helping hand.
In every step, with every goal,
To positively impact, and uplift the soul.
In every act, in every choice,
I’ll strive to lift, to give a voice.
For a future bright and paths untried,
Where empathy and progress stride.
I’ll build bridges with thoughtful care,
Create a world that’s just and fair.
With every effort, every dream,
To weave a future where kindness gleams.
In my journey, as I strive and seek,
I’ll foster change, both bold and meek.
A legacy of love, a world refined,
Where hope and heart are intertwined.
So here I stand, with vision clear,
To make a mark, sincere and near.
For giving back and shaping ways,
Will guide the world through brighter days.

As a first-generation college student with Caribbean roots, my background has instilled in me a deep sense of community and responsibility. Growing up in a close-knit family from the Caribbean, I learned the importance of support, collaboration, and giving back. These values have shaped my journey through higher education and continue to drive my commitment to community engagement.
Throughout my academic career, I have actively sought to promote community involvement through various after-school clubs and volunteering opportunities. I have dedicated over 700 hours to numerous organizations, working with local businesses, nonprofits, and community groups. My roles have ranged from organizing community events and fundraisers to mentoring younger students and assisting in local business initiatives.
In high school, I was deeply involved in several after-school clubs where I spearheaded projects aimed at community betterment. For instance, as a member of National, Spanish, and French Honor Society, I led initiatives that included organizing food drives and environmental clean-up projects. These activities not only allowed me to give back but also helped me develop essential skills in project management, teamwork, and leadership.
Volunteering with local businesses has provided me with valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by small enterprises. By offering my time and skills, I have helped businesses streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and implement effective marketing strategies. This hands-on experience has been instrumental in applying my business studies in real-world settings and has deepened my understanding of the interconnectedness between community development and local economic growth.
Looking ahead, my plans for sustained community involvement post-college are centered around leveraging my business education to create meaningful impact. I intend to pursue a career in social entrepreneurship, where I can combine my passion for business with my commitment to community service. My goal is to develop and support initiatives that address social issues, promote economic empowerment, and foster inclusive growth.
I envision establishing programs that provide mentorship and resources to underrepresented entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the challenges of starting and growing a business. Additionally, I plan to collaborate with local organizations to create opportunities for skill development and community engagement, ensuring that the benefits of economic progress are widely shared.
To conclude, my background as a first-generation college student from the Caribbean has profoundly influenced my dedication to community engagement. Through extensive volunteering and leadership in various clubs, I have gained valuable experiences that fuel my commitment to giving back. Post-college, I aim to continue this trajectory by using my business acumen to drive positive change and support sustainable community development.

Travel is often more than just a journey from one place to another; it is a transformative experience that can profoundly impact individuals by expanding their horizons and fostering personal growth. My own experiences traveling to Jamaica and on a school-led trip through Madrid, Barcelona, and Rome vividly illustrate how exposure to diverse cultures, perspectives, and environments can lead to significant personal development.
Visiting Jamaica, where I have family, has been particularly transformative. Immersing myself in the vibrant Caribbean culture has deepened my understanding of how different communities approach daily life and business. Living alongside my relatives, I observed firsthand the role of family and community in shaping individual values and behaviors. The warmth and hospitality of the Jamaican people highlighted the importance of relationships and community support. Additionally, witnessing local entrepreneurs manage their small businesses with limited resources demonstrated the significance of resilience and creativity in overcoming economic challenges. These experiences have broadened my perspective on the role of cultural context in shaping personal and professional success.
In Madrid, the blend of historical and modern influences showcased how cities can balance tradition with innovation. Visiting landmarks like the Prado Museum and exploring contemporary business districts revealed how historical contexts shape current societal and economic practices. This exposure underscored the value of understanding and integrating historical and cultural insights into modern practices, teaching me to appreciate the past’s influence on present-day success.
Barcelona was a lesson in creative entrepreneurship and cultural identity. The city’s vibrant art scene, driven by figures like Antoni Gaudí, illustrated how embracing and promoting cultural uniqueness can lead to remarkable achievements. The entrepreneurial spirit in Barcelona, reflected in its dynamic start-ups and design firms, demonstrated how creativity and cultural heritage can drive business success. This experience highlighted the importance of leveraging personal and cultural strengths in pursuing innovative solutions and achieving professional goals.
Rome offered a deep dive into the interplay between historical legacy and contemporary practices.Rome’s ability to integrate its rich history with modern economic practices taught me about the significance of cultural heritage in shaping personal and professional identities. Understanding how to navigate and incorporate diverse cultural elements can enhance one’s ability to engage effectively in a globalized world.
In each of these experiences, travel has been a catalyst for personal growth. Exposure to different cultures and perspectives has expanded my understanding of the world, teaching me adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and creative problem-solving. Engaging with diverse environments has challenged my assumptions and broadened my thinking, encouraging me to embrace new ideas and approaches.
Travel has the power to transform individuals by exposing them to a rich tapestry of cultures, perspectives, and environments. These experiences foster personal growth by broadening horizons, challenging preconceptions, and enhancing adaptability. Through my journeys to Jamaica and Europe, I have gained a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity. Travel, therefore, is not just a physical journey but a profound process of personal development and enlightenment.
Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship
When Stan Lee created Spider-Man I don’t think he expected to have that big of a turnout that it did. The Spider-man movies have had three major stars over the years since 2002. First with Tobey Maguire, then Andrew Garfield, and finally Tom Holland. When thinking back to all of the Spider-Man movies I watched with my family I have to say that hands down Andrew Garfield is my favorite. Now don't get me wrong, all of the other Spider-Men played their roles really well but he is the best of the best! He started playing the role of Spiderman in 2012, 2014, and 2021. Andrew Garfield is an excellent actor, he has had experience in theater, film, and television. To me, he is really able to commit to all of the roles that he plays. You can always feel the emotions, he connects with his audience in a way that allows you to feel exactly how he feels. If he is angry, sad, frustrated, or happy, you are able to mirror his every emotion. To bring it home, Andrew Garfield had the best connection with his Gwen. They have a relationship that no other Spider-Man was able to compete with.

My name is Annastacya Jahore, I was named after my mom Stacy-Ann, it was my dad's idea to flip the Ann in front and thus my name was created. I am the oldest to my ten-year-old brother, who I try to be a role model for. I have an active presence at school joining several different clubs from French, Spanish, and the National Honor Society I joined the business academy at my high school because I wanted to learn about money, how to make money work for you and how to use it wisely. I took International Business my sophomore year and learned about different countries' dynamics and GDP among other facts. I was able to learn about business etiquette for various countries. I also earned my ESB certification (Entrepreneur in small business) that very year.
In addition, in my junior year, I took two accounting 1 classes one for the business academy and the other for my coursework at my college. I am dual enrolled and at first I started taking classes at IRSC to learn higher education and an added GPA boost, but as I continue to see how expensive college will be I am glad I push myself to take as many classes as possible. I am fortunate to have parents who work hard to give me the best that they can, so I will take any opportunity I can to help lighten their load. I will also be helping myself by furthering my education because I know I have more potential than a 9-5 at McDonald's.
Continually, my senior year (current) I am taking international finance and law as well as Accounting 2 at the college. Since taking my academy accounting class I was able to be certified in Intuit Quickbooks. Not only do I learn vital lessons in business, but I also learn essential life skills. One can look at my maturation of roles in FBLA club (Future Business Leaders of America) as a member, and secretary to the president as a testimony of my growth and knowledge. Looking back on my early years, I went from a shy and boxed-up version of myself to an outspoken student. I plan to observe the needs I see around me and be the person to face challenges to help evoke change. When I create my business, I will use what I know from my business courses, and networking opportunities to then help inspire more community-minded business leaders.
