Hello, my name is Anastasiia and I am currently a senior in high school in Texas. I am also dual-enrolled at a community college to receive my Associate's Degree when I graduate. On a personal note, I really enjoy music, art, science, and I am fluent in four languages. Three years ago I moved to the United States from the Ukraine, and I knew very little English. Because of the language barrier, it was very difficult for me to study at school. Everyday I worked really hard on learning the language and despite these challenges, I was able to enter the top 1% of my class, ranking number 2 for the first and second years of high school.
Some of my biggest interests are Cybersecurity and Computer Science. When I was a freshman, I started learning Computer Programming and became a member of the Business Professional of America club which provided me with an opportunity to compete in regional and state contests such as Java Programming, Computer Networking, and Computer Programming Concepts. After participating in these competitive events, I realized that Computer Science is what I really want to do in the future.
My goal is to major in Cybersecurity because I strive to get the knowledge and professionalism that will enable me to fight cyber attacks that may harm the economy of the United States. My long-term goal is to share my experience and inspire children who have recently arrived in this country to stay strong, believe in themselves, and work hard to make their dreams come true.

Terry Crews "Creative Courage" Scholarship
Exploring your inner world, discovering the brightest parts of your life, and never doubting yourself are ideas that have always inspired me. Throughout my life, I realized that our inner world and self-development are some of the most important factors that shape us as individuals. These experiences and knowledge shaped my life vision which I decided to express through paintings.
My first painting called “Spirit of Freedom” represents a tiger that broke his cage and felt the freedom he did not have for so long. It reflects on the mental health challenges I have faced in life such as self-doubt, low self-esteem, and lack of confidence in my capabilities. The cage represents mental barriers that stop us from unlocking our true potential and the tiger represents our inner self that fights these challenges. When we get a little bit of hope, represented by the moonlight, we are capable of doing incredible things. In creating this painting, I learned that by exploring our feelings and understanding our inner world, we can break from the cage of mental barriers and discover our true potential.
My life vision has been molded by experiencing failures and successes, working on my self-growth, and through the support of my family. When I felt broken I had a helping hand from my loved ones and their support always motivated me to stay strong and work hard. I realized that life can be difficult, but nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself. I have depicted these experiences in my other paintings, called “You are the World” and “Melody of Expression”.
I dream to develop my artistic skills and become more professional in painting and drawing. I want to express the courage of creativity through feelings and emotions by depicting them on the canvas.
Austin Kramer Music-Maker Scholarship
Since childhood I've been very interested in music, and after hearing new songs I tried to sing along with the artists or to improvise by creating melodies using the elements from the songs I already heard. I always dreamed about trying my strengths in creating music. And when I got a chance to create my own melody when I was a part of the Mixtape Camp, I was so happy! I've been excited to work with my peers who were captured by the beauty of the music as I was. I created the “Farewell” song in the Soundtrap App by combining beats, rhythms and song patterns. I wanted to express the feelings of a young couple who were separated by the circumstances of life.
