Losing a close family member or loved one can be a devastating experience that fundamentally changes a person's perspective on life. For me, the loss of my grandfather was a defining moment that has shaped my priorities and goals. Growing up, my grandfather was always a constant presence in my life. He was the kind of person who was always there for me, offering support and guidance whenever I needed it. He was my biggest fan, and his love and encouragement meant the world to me. When he passed away suddenly, it was a shock that left me feeling lost and directionless. But as I struggled to come to terms with my grief, I began to realize that my grandfather's influence on my life went far beyond the time we spent together. His belief in me and his unwavering support had given me the strength and confidence to pursue my dreams. And with his passing, I was reminded of just how precious and fragile life can be. It was then that I began to focus on what truly mattered most to me. I realized that I wanted to make the most of every moment and to live a life that would make my grandfather proud. I wanted to follow my passions and to work hard to achieve my goals, no matter how difficult they might seem. Since then, I have been "fighting" to achieve these goals and to live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling. I have worked hard to earn good grades in school, and I have taken on leadership roles in various organizations. I have also made it a priority to give back to my community and to help others in any way that I can. Through all of this, I have come to understand that loss can be a powerful motivator. It can inspire us to focus on what is most important to us and to pursue our dreams with determination and purpose. And while the loss of my grandfather will always be a part of me, I am grateful for the lessons that it has taught me and for the direction that it has given to my life.
Taylor J. Paul Arts and Media Scholarship
One of the main reasons I chose to pursue a degree in media and arts is because of the diverse range of career opportunities it offers. In today's digital age, the demand for skilled professionals in these fields is higher than ever, as companies and organizations across a variety of industries rely on the power of media and art to communicate their message and connect with their audience. In addition to traditional roles in film and television, journalism, and advertising, a degree in media and arts can also lead to careers in social media management, public relations, graphic design, and even event planning. The options are virtually endless, which is why I felt that this field was the right fit for me. Another reason I chose to study media and arts is because of the opportunity to learn from and work with experienced professionals in these fields. My professors and mentors have been invaluable in helping me to understand the industry and develop my skills, and I have had the chance to collaborate with classmates and peers on a variety of projects. These experiences have not only helped me to grow as a media and arts professional, but they have also given me the confidence and knowledge to succeed in my career. One of the biggest ways that my studies in media and arts have impacted my career goals is by helping me to develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills. In addition to coursework in areas such as production, writing, and marketing, I have also had the opportunity to participate in internships and extracurricular activities, which have given me practical experience in these fields. These experiences have helped me to understand the realities of working in media and arts and have given me the confidence to pursue a career in these fields. Overall, my decision to pursue a degree in media and arts has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only have my studies helped me to develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, but they have also opened up a wide range of career opportunities and given me the chance to work with and learn from experienced professionals in these fields. I am confident that my degree in media and arts will serve me well as I continue to pursue my career goals and make a meaningful contribution to the world of media and art.
    Joshua Meyer Memorial Scholarship
To me, creativity is the ability to generate and execute original ideas, thoughts, and perspectives. It is the driving force behind progress, innovation, and change in the world. Creativity allows us to look at problems and challenges in new ways and come up with solutions that may have previously been overlooked. It enables us to think outside the box and come up with original and novel approaches to tackling issues and achieving our goals. Creativity is not just about producing art or coming up with creative ideas for the sake of it. It is about using our imagination and innovative thinking to improve the world around us and make it a better place. Whether it's developing a new product, finding a way to reduce waste and pollution, or coming up with a solution to a social issue, creativity plays a vital role in driving progress and change. To me, being creative means being open to new ideas and approaches, being willing to take risks and try new things, and being able to think critically and problem-solve. It also means being able to communicate and share your ideas effectively, as well as being able to work collaboratively with others to bring those ideas to fruition. One of the most rewarding aspects of creativity is the ability to see the impact of your ideas and creations on the world around you. Creativity doesn’t just exist in the artistic world, as we can find creative and innovative ideas all around us. Whether it's a piece of art that touches someone emotionally, or a new technology that makes people's lives easier, the ability to make a positive impact through creativity is truly fulfilling. In today's rapidly changing world, creativity is more important than ever. With constant technological advancements and an increasingly complex global landscape, we need people who are able to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to the challenges we face. Without creativity, we risk stagnation and a lack of progress. In conclusion, the concept of creativity means the ability to generate and execute original ideas and approaches, with the goal of making a positive impact on the world. Creativity is the fluid motion of innovative and unique ideas to fix an existing problem. It is an essential component of progress and innovation, and it is something that we should all strive to cultivate and nurture in ourselves and in others.
