Childhood education is one of the most crucial parts of a child's life. What happens in the classroom at a young age will impact the child and how they develop later on in life. With everything going on in the world, I want to make a difference in America's youth. I want to pursue my education further at William Patterson University, majoring in education. In school, I take a dual enrollment class called Tomorrow's Teachers where I'm a teacher's assistant for a 3rd-grade class in my town. When I'm helping the kids in my class, time tends to fly by so quickly. I enjoy helping them with stuff they are struggling with because when they finally do understand, I know I did my part and made a difference in their day. I also enjoy building bonds with all of the students. I want to make every child feel comfortable and make sure that they are being heard in the classroom. Building a connection with a student is a really important factor when wanting to be a teacher. This includes checking in on their home life, asking about how they feel, making inside jokes with them etc. Doing this stuff thus builds a stronger connection between you and a student making them trust you and get comfortable with you. Another factor I'd want to include in contributing to youth education is to get involved with the students. Whether it's after-school tutoring, getting involved in school events or even setting individual goals with your students. This shows students that you care. If they are in an environment where the teacher could care less about anything except for the lesson that day, that is not teaching. Teaching is putting in the extra work to make sure everything is running smoothly in and out of the classroom. The most important thing a teacher can do in a classroom is set boundaries. Setting boundaries is a big contribution to the wellness of the youth. It teaches kids respect and how to act in a professional community. This can help kids understand the different positions and roles people play in a work environment along with letting them know that although you're their teacher, they can still trust and talk to you. Becoming a teacher is much more than just teaching. Teaching is making a difference in a child's life and much more. I want to help the young children of our country become successful and happy in their futures. Hopefully making a difference in their lives for the greater good. .
