A brief introduction before my career goals, my name is Amari Ford. I am currently a Junior Chemistry major with a biology Minor. I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. I enjoy volunteering in my community, for I feel one of life's purpose is to engage in helping others. Studying how the body works and how its composition can change when undergoing reactions is a passion of mine. At the moment, my journey is towards getting my M.D. with a specialty in obstetric anesthesia.

Your Dream Music Scholarship
Over the past few months, I've been dealing with a rocky relationship with myself mentally. The pressure that I placed on myself is very strong and aggressive, for I know where I come from and where I want to be. Being mentally unstable has affected my life in many ways. It caused a split between my motivation and myself. I kept being in a state of denial that I wasn't worth it or life wasn't worth living. One of the things that kept me going is music. Music gives me the chance to shut out the influence of the world and fully captivate what's on my mind. There is one song that plays through my head every time those thoughts come back to me, and that song is W.A.Y.S. by Jhene Aiko. This song portrays the message to simply "keep going", for life is hard sometimes but you have to keep going. I love Jhene Aiko's music altogether. Her voice and her words give me enlightenment that life is worth living, even when I am at my breaking point.
