Bio

My life goal after attending college is to move out of the United States to England. I want to leave the US for England to be surrounded by the inspiration of old brick architecture, art from all around the world from different periods, and the culture and history of the people of England. In addition, I can work as a full-time graphic designer in the UK by achieving my goal of getting a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and double minoring in Photography and Web and Mobile Design. My dream is very ambitious and expensive for me to obtain. Still, working hard in a field that I am very passionate about sharing with others pushes me into even more challenging opportunities to achieve that goal. I want to push myself even harder to achieve my academic goals of graduating with my degree, even though I have a learning disability that makes understanding concepts of sentences, spelling, reading, and following instructions difficult for me. However, that doesn't stop me from thinking outside the box to promptly get my work done like the rest of my peers and stay within the 3.0 GPA range. I am a great candidate because I work hard to achieve my academic and career plans despite my learning disability. I didn't see my learning disability as a disadvantage like other people see me. Instead, it's a unique trait of mine that makes me think creatively about problem-solving skills in my everyday activities and even makes me more creative in making art that I am very passionate about sharing with others.

I am an undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and double minoring in Photography and Web and Mobile design. In addition, I have been pursuing art, or the digital art occupation, because it allows me to express my creativity, feeling, and social issues. I chose this major because it allows me to communicate with others through my artwork. In addition, I have been doing traditional art throughout my many years of attending school. I switched to digital art because I always appreciated graphic art on clothing, billboards, posters, packaging, etc. I chose to study the art area because I have always been devoted to my work. After all, there is no right or wrong answer to art. Because of this, my learning disability has never affected my drawing skills. Unlike other subjects, I struggle mentally to keep up with my counterparts. Art has always been a comfort I am passionate about sharing with others. Thus I plan to design logos, packaging, and graphic clothing like other artists by studying Graphic Design and getting a well-rounded degree in the digital art field. Seeking a career, I am passionate about allows me to help others bring out their vision using my craftwork. An example is designing a graphic t-shirt and hoodie with a band logo. People who also like the band would like an excellent design that symbolizes that band but also satisfies the band's image of themselves. People wearing their merch shows how much they support them but also allows people to have a great conversation starter when talking to people in their everyday lives. Another way to connect to other individuals who share the same interests using graphic art is by designing products like stickers and clothing for a community to feel like they belong with others like themselves. For example, I identified as bisexual, so seeing graphic designers making graphic prints on clothing and other accessories for the LGBTQ+ community makes me even more motivated to achieve my goal of helping others as other people did for me. In addition, getting an education in Graphic Design and double minoring impacted my education by allowing me to achieve my goal of one day having the ability to create anything a client vision. Thus, by challenging myself with double minoring, I can design any website and be a photographer for my clients. Nevertheless, getting an education also challenges me to stay organized and gain creative problem-solving skills in my everyday life. Therefore I plan to get an education in a field I am passionate about, help others achieve their creative vision, and challenge myself every day in my teaching. I can be a Graphic Designer who can help other individuals with my art like others help me in my educational journey.

The concept of creativity is limitless to anything we can imagine. We can have the ability to express ourselves and our ideas in ways everyone can understand and see issues from a unique point of view. We can also devise creative ways to overcome mental challenges and do anything the human mind can imagine. The best thing about art, more specifically graphic design or digital art, is that we can make art that everyone universally can understand. One example is that warning signs, traffic, and company logos are the same worldwide and universally mean the same thing. By using art, we can communicate, breaking the language and ethics barrier between different cultures. Because of this, art is a powerful tool for communicating feelings, stories, or simple symbols representing an idea or a physical entity. Another concept of creativity is the problem-solving skills of seeing different problems from a unique point of view. With this, we can see art and other mediums, such as digital, written, spoken, physical activities, and other topics, from a new point of respective. We can have endless possibilities for creativity to address any issues outside art. We can think of new or different ways of problem-solving or the ability to use imagination to generate new ideas. One example is having many other solutions to a complex question, thinking of different ways to execute the final product, or being flexible in any medium we work. We can think outside the box to see more potential in our everyday lives. Additionally, we can overcome challenges by using our creativity. We didn't have to be an artist to be creative people. Creativity is in everyone's lives, no matter what we are doing. Because of this, creativity is not just something you can label and put in a box. An example of this is that I have a learning disability that makes specific topics challenging to understand. Because of this, I stumble to maintain the same understanding in the lectures compared to my peers. Therefore, I had to devise creative ways to help myself understand the material in class. A sample of this is that I made handmade note cards with hand-cut pictures and read them out loud, writing words repeatedly until I remembered them. Therefore, creativity is not just about expressing oneself through appearances or mediums on paper but also through everyday activities. From office jobs to sports, we can do anything with creativity by communicating through symbols, seeing issues from an additional point of view, and developing ways to overcome challenges. The concept of creativity can be anything we can imagine and therefore help individuals like myself bring our vision to life.

The many times going to school, I faced much adversity throughout my academic journey, with me being mentally challenged by my disability. Since starting primal, I have struggled to keep up with my peers. We discovered that I had a learning disability that made it challenging to understand simple academic studies like reading, spelling, speaking, and comprehension skills. Because of this, I join a class to help with my disability throughout elementary. Because of this, I was constantly pulled out of class to work on spelling, speaking, and writing. During that period, my parents had me go to a speech therapist outside of school to help me read, write, and speak as a child. Because of this, I was frustrated that things didn't come as quickly as my peers once I learned that there was something different about me. Even after elementary my relative had me attend a middle school that specializes in helping students with learning disabilities. I strumbled a lot during my term there, even though my education status was lower than my age, but I kept trying even though I spent most of my time inside during recess reading books to comprehend words. I would also spend time teaching myself spelling by writing words repeatedly and saying them out loud so I would recall them. Because of my work, I learned skills to overcome and adapt to my disability. Finally, in my last year of middle school, my hard work paid off, and I made the all-A honor roll list. Once I started high school, I did struggle at first with the new environment and how high school education functions. But after staying after school for help, asking instructors for assistance in class, and setting time to study at home during the day. I was able to get on the honor roll list for all four years I attended high school. I am currently a freshman in college majoring in Graphic Design and double minoring in photography and web and mobile design. With the additional minors, I am practically taking two bachelor's degrees, with how much credit I need to achieve my academic goal. Even though I struggle with particular topics, by staying organized and have time set aside for studying and use all the help my college offers. I intend to take all these classes so I will be able to get a well-rounded education in the digital art occupation. Therefore, I hope once I graduate, I will be able to aid others the way they support me through my art and thank all the individuals who stood by engaging me to not give up on myself.
