My life goals are to obtain my bachelor's degree in health science, pass the RHIT certification exam and receive the credentials, and find a job for medical billing and coding. I am passionate with drawing, writing stories, and playing video games. I think I can be a great candidate because I like to work hard to achieve my goals and I don't like anyone doing the work for me. Plus, I always believe in hard work and good education.

Healing Self and Community Scholarship
One unique contribution I would make to the world to improve mental health care accessibility is to utilize technology to make resources and support more readily available. This would include creating a platform that provides easy access to mental health professionals, resources, and tracking tools. By utilizing technology, we can bridge the gap between those in need and the support they require, regardless of their location or financial situation. I would also work to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by creating an online community where individuals can share their stories and find support from others who have similar experiences. Another unique contribution I would make to improve mental health care accessibility is to establish community support programs that provide low-cost or free mental health services. By partnering with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies, we can create a support network that offers counseling, therapy, and support groups to those who may not otherwise have access to these services. Additionally, I would work to raise awareness and advocate for policy changes that would allocate more resources to mental health care and increase funding for community support programs. Furthermore, I believe that financial accessibility to mental health care is crucial, and I would work to advocate for more affordable options such as sliding scale fees, insurance coverage, and government-funded programs. I would also work to promote the expansion of mental health care coverage in insurance plans and advocate for policies that require employers to provide mental health benefits to their employees.

Video games have positively impacted my life when I was 6 years old. I first got my game, Pokémon Leafgreen when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. I was excited to play that game because it brings nostalgic memories from the beginning to the end. Video games can boost mood and make for better heart rhythms which is a sign for relieving stress. The correlation between video games and stress has been reflected in numerous unrelated studies which is why video games have been used in therapy for over a decade. The combination of concentration and neurotransmitter surges when playing games helps to strengthen neural circuits, giving the brain a real workout. Video games can improve mental skills, such as problem-solving and logic, hand-eye coordination, spatial skills, and fine motor coordination. Across the world, 69% of players agree video games build problem-solving, cognitive teamwork, and collaboration skills, with 84% of the U.S. saying video games improve problem-solving skills. From my perspective, video games have assisted me to vanquish the rough times when I felt empty, lost, miserable, and alone. They bestow me a sense of creativity, connection, imaginativeness, serenity, and freedom. My video games would always make me laugh, smile, and be nostalgic, something that I got used to whenever there was a family drama that circulated me. I would always run away and go to my video games for comfort and safety. To me, video games make me feel joy and jubilant just to heal my heart and emotions that were broken by my family and school except for my dogs of course. Whenever I finished my schoolwork, I jumped into my video games as my secondary home. My mother would never understand how I feel about my love for video games except my sister and my friends. Pokémon, Sonic, Fossil Fighters, Digimon, and recently Fire Emblem have opened their arms to me and I was willing to accept it because the real world is a cruel place for me especially when it comes to my mother's constant controlling lifestyle over me. I have never felt so happy since my aunt's passing, my parent's divorce, and the 2009 move from Miami to Cape Coral. Everything I used to dream was already destroying me inside and out until my video games, art, and dogs brought me back to life with emotions. So, if people say that video games are negative towards the world, then I am sorry to burst their bubble, but they are automatically mistaken. Video games are like diving into new worlds opened to those who are hurt by reality and filled with marvelous stories and beautiful art. I know there are such people with different tastes in video games, and I deeply respect it.
