Online ADHD Diagnosis Mental Health Scholarship for Women
While attending high school I have found that prioritizing my mental health is essential for success and happiness. Whether it means taking time to partake in my personal hobbies, or time to just rest, I make sure to put my mental health first.
I remember the first few months that I began to prioritize my mental health, and it completely changed how I looked at my life. I have always been a determined and hard-working person, and often I found it got in the way of me being able to find happiness in the activities that I attend. I knew I needed to change that. I switched my perspective on life and began to live differently. Rather than telling myself that it would get later and I had to power through the struggle, I chose to live in the now. Ultimately I found that when my mental health improved, my performance all around improved.
One thing I do to keep a positive mental state is that I minimize my time on social media. Often, time with family and friends is replaced with looking at pictures of the same people from behind a screen. I like to spend time with my family whether it's watching movies or making a meal to enjoy together. In addition I avoid scrolling through social media before bed to avoid stimulating my mind to get the optimal amount of sleep.
I currently am involved in multiple clubs and sports. I also I work 15-20 hours a week at my two jobs. These tasks can cause me stress, however I make sure to take time to work out multiple times a week. Working out brings my energy level up, and allows me to have a positive body image of myself. In addition having a healthy diet allows me to feel my best self.
As a Catholic woman I know that prayer, reflection, and taking time to go to mass is important. Taking time to do these things also allows me to be in a good mental state. Reflection and prayer are a way to calm myself, and have a routine to go back to no matter what.
Mental health effects how we act in our daily life. If we have poor mental health it will affect our outlook on life, motivation, and even how we treat other people. In school I am able to perform better when I have good mental health. I prioritize my mental health so that I can be my best self. I can show up to my jobs and school with a smile on my face and a positive attitude.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
John Young 'Pursue Your Passion' Scholarship
I remember the first time that I wanted to pursue a degree in engineering. I was just in fourth grade, and I'm not sure that I knew exactly what engineering was, but it was something about the way that engineers took ideas and concepts and brought them to life that made me so excited to become one. I looked for every excuse to learn about anything engineering-related, and that passion for engineering has only grown as I have gotten closer to college. This year I will graduate high school with a GPA of 3.9, and I would like to attend UW Madison.
I will be able to achieve my goals because I have been raised to be a hard worker. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin on a farm. From a young age, I was given responsibilities of taking care of animals, and learning how to push through challenges. My values have carried through high school and will continue through college and career.
Throughout my high school career I have taken as many classes as I can to set myself up for success. My senior year I applied for a youth apprenticeship in engineering, and I now work at a local manufacturing company. I also took the opportunity to do a CAD independent study to familiarize myself with the softwares I will be using in the future. From these experiences I have learned how to engineer in a real-life setting which will support my future plans.
My passion for engineering not only stems from my curious mind, but also from a want to help and inspire other people like me. I have found challenges going into a male-dominated field, people tend to underestimate me, and I see other women facing similar challenges. One of my goals in becoming an engineer is to inspire all of the young girls out there and show them that the world has been and is changing, and they can be anything that they put their minds to through hard work and determination.
My ultimate goal is to make a difference in the world. I will achieve this through growing in my career. My hope is to design something that will help many people, and I will support local charities or fundraising as well.
With this scholarship, I would be able to put the funds towards my education and lighten the burden that student debt brings. Thank you for your consideration.

I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin on a farm. From a young age I have been taught to be responsible, and trusted with taking care of animals. Many people don't understand the importance of working hard, and pushing through challenges to meet your goals, but that is something I have grown to understand. From school to activities to home I make sure to put in the effort. When things went wrong I would have to brainstorm and come up with solutions. One thing I find so amazing about engineering is the creativity involved.
In high school I decided that I was determined to do everything I could to set myself up for success. I took many engineering-related classes, starting with Intro to Engineering and geometry, all the way to where I am now in my senior year in AP Calculus and a CAD software independent study. I love to challenge myself, and through my upbringing I have learned to work hard and be involved in my community. I am currently involved in 4-H, multiple band activities and sports, NHS, and our local snowmobile club. I am the NHS President, and the Columbus-Fall River SnoBlazers Secretary. These leadership positions among others have taught me how to handle responsibility, and be a leader. I know that the responsibilities I am given effect many people in my community and I work hard to make sure I complete what I am ask and then some. In addition to my activities I work two jobs. I am a busser at a local supper club, and I have an engineering youth apprenticeship in engineering. I have had the opportunity to learn about engineering in a real-world setting and work with multiple engineers. This experience has allowed me to grow immensely.
