I have always wanted to be a cosmetologist. When I was in the 4th grade, I dressed up as a fashion cosmetologist for Halloween because I wanted to be one so badly. I have never stopped dreaming of this life for me. Lucky enough, I even come from a whole family of beauticians. My mom, my grandma, my aunts, and finally now me. What I want to gain from a cosmetology education is to change lives. To bring happiness to clients and make unique connections. Making someone's day just a bit brighter. To follow my heart, the passion that has driven me to now. I want to be a cosmetologist and make a statement in the beauty industry. The short-term goal I have for myself is to get through my education as a Cosmetologist and become licensed. Learn as much as possible, even when I complete my education in school. Learn from my mistakes and never give up. Build a life for my family and me, being the best I can be in the industry. I want to make something for myself, being confident in what I can do. Continue to grow for as long as possible in the passion I love. My number one long-term goal is to build a beauty empire. I want to open a salon and be able to take anyone from all backgrounds. Clients shouldn't have to select salons because of the style they want. I want a place where all are welcome, and it shouldn't be a thought if they can get a specific hairstyle done. Make a real name for myself. Growing up in school, many of my girlfriends were mixed and didn't know where to begin to style their hair, and many salons around the town I am from didn't do selected types of hair. I took the time to educate myself. Learning techniques, and during free periods, I would go and do their hair. I always want someone to feel included. That is why I plan to make an empire out of it and share those dreams with the world. I do have many short-term and long-term goals for myself. The burning fire in my heart, I know I can achieve these goals. As I said, I have always wanted to be a Cosmetologist. From a very young age til now and most definitely forever. I plan never to stop dreaming and to continue to grow. That is what I will gain from a cosmetology education.

I have always wanted to be a cosmetologist. In the 4th grade, I dressed up as a fashion cosmetologist for Halloween because I wanted to be one so badly. I have never stopped dreaming of this life for me. Lucky enough, I even come from a whole family of beauticians. My mom, my grandma, my aunts, and finally now me. With my cosmetology education, I want to change lives. To bring happiness to clients and make unique connections. Making someone's day just a bit brighter. To follow my heart, the passion that has driven me to now. I want to be a cosmetologist and make a statement in the beauty industry. The trade I have chosen, it's always spoke to me. I want to move people with my work. It just puts a smile on their face and helps them express themselves from what they feel on the inside. It reminded me of my late Aunt Nicole when she got Colorectal cancer ( colon cancer); my aunt asked me if I could make her dream come true. My aunt always wanted pink and purple hair. She knew I always wanted to be a cosmetologist, so it was an honor to do that for her. Seeing my aunt's happiness, I want to give that to others as well. This helped the fire in my heart for my passion. I plan to build a name for myself, an empire. I want to make a difference in this industry. My long-term goal is to have my doors open to all. Clients shouldn't have to travel to specific hair salons to get certain hairstyles done. I want to own a salon and be able to help out from any background. In middle school, I had friends with beautiful mixed hair. My friends never really got their hair done because the salons around us didn't treat the hair types they had. I took the time to educate myself on the matter, so with our free periods, I would do their hair with advice on properly caring for it. I don't want anyone to feel left out. Building the empire I dream of, I want to share my ideal salon with others who share my dream—making it a reality and a statement in the beauty world. I chose this trade to make a difference in my life and others. To bring a Client's ideas to life, adding joy and excitement they want. I am following my passion in my heart. That is why I chose the path of a cosmetologist.
