Bold Driven Scholarship
The biggest goal I would like to achieve is to generate more than one hundred thousand dollars from investments every year. I plan on accomplishing this goal before I turn forty years old. I am working towards this goal in two ways: by absorbing as much information as possible and putting money into both a savings and emergency bank account. I am passionate about my goal for a number of reasons: I do not want to be required to work throughout my retirement and I want the ability to give back to all the people who have provided for me in my times of need.
I only choose to learn from people that have experience investing and are highly informative; the people I learn most from are Warren Buffett and Robert T Kiyosaki. These two investors tend to not waste time discussing meaningless information and they both share their experiences investing using real-world examples.
My savings account is solely used for stockpiling money for the purpose of using that money to make money. I plan on using the funds to take advantage of a business opportunity, invest in real estate, or invest in the stock market. My emergency fund bank account is strictly for emergency purposes only, in which, I keep only one thousand dollars in it. I have a one thousand dollar limit on my emergency fund bank so I can pour more money into my savings account.
I am very passionate about being financially free, as it enables me to live the life that I want to. I want to see the people I love happy and I know that achieving this goal will provide them with that happiness, which is why I am so determined to achieve my dream.
Hobbies Matter
I find reading to be my favorite past-time, as it is thought-provoking, destresses me, plus greatly increases my vocabulary skills. My ideal reading conditions take place in a well-lit room with faint high-energy music playing in the background. Once I begin reading a book, my eyes suddenly become glued to the pages and I thoroughly read it within a few days. For books I am especially fond of, I reread them, look into the author, along with researching how the book came to fruition.
Referring to reading as simply thought-provoking does not do it justice, seeing how reading books has undeniably altered my psychology for the better. I've slowly become more empathetic towards others, my moral compass is continuously shifting, I'm given the opportunity to view the world through a differing set of eyes, as well as greatly aiding my ability to self-reflect. Reading has exposed me to the remarkably diverse ways that people perceive their surroundings, which in turn, has enabled me to become more empathetic as well as have better insight into my thoughts and actions.
Reading is my all-time favorite activity when it comes to managing my stress levels. Once I begin reading, I quickly feel myself becoming immersed in the storyline, which in turn, aids me in processing my worries. As I begin learning more about the different things people stress over, it prompts me to re-evaluate what I believe is crucial and worth stressing over.
Reading does not only increase my vocabulary, it also shows me the appropriate context when using difficult words. I can then use these newly learned vocabulary terms to better portray my thoughts and feelings. Having a strong vocabulary is important because I can use two words that are synonyms and entirely change the emotional impact of a statement. For context, the words dislike and disgust are interchangeable, yet both of these terms suggest an entirely different emotional reaction. As reading continuously increases my vocabulary, identifying and using contrasting terms becomes much more straightforward. Possessing a vast vocabulary is truly meaningful to me because I strongly prefer to use words that will properly convey my intended message.
My top three by-products that come with reading would have to be complete relaxation, my vocabulary skills being strengthened, as well as enabling me to think in unique ways. Reading is an activity I am highly passionate about, and believe that every individual should partake in weekly, if not daily. Reading has been my most enjoyable hobby for more than two years and I absolutely intend to keep it that way.
Bold Self-Care Scholarship
Self-care is one of the most important things an individual can do as it impacts their mental health, as well as their physical health. Performing acts of self-care is usually cheap, simple, and easy to learn. That being said, I treat my mental and physical health with great significance and would be more than willing to share my self-care practices.
For my mental health, I read at least two pages of a book per day, limit social media use, and write down five things that I'm grateful for every day. These three simple actions have greatly improved my life. Reading is something that is very stress relieving for me and I almost always read more than two pages, as the book is glued to my hands once I begin reading. After watching "The Social Dilemma" I decided to delete all my social media, with the exception of youtube. I quickly realized that I felt much better without social media, as I would waste time scrolling endlessly, compare myself to others, and be influenced by other people's opinions. Taking a few minutes in the morning to write about things I'm grateful for makes me feel much better about my current situation.
For my physical health, I go to the gym four to six days a week, brush and floss twice a day, and stretch frequently. Going to the gym makes me feel more confident about myself and my journey through life. I had very bad teeth as a child so I make sure to always keep my teeth clean now, which has made talking to others much easier. I enjoy stretching since I can do it in my room and it is very easy to do.
Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
While I cannot guarantee these methods are unique to me, I can, however, guarantee they are effective ways of studying and achieving academic success. The top three strategies I use are flashcards, teaching the subject to another person, and writing down problems to solve them.
Flashcards are easily one of the oldest and most used tools for studying and for good reason. They are most effective in memorizing a subject and being able to test yourself regarding the subject. I use these predominately for vocabulary terms and short-answered questions.
Teaching the subject that you want to learn is very beneficial as it requires you to be knowledgeable enough to fully explain it and answer any questions the person listening has. This strategy fully ensures that you know all the components of what you want to learn, as well as receive feedback from your listener.
Writing your own problems down and solving them is my personal favorite to do, as you can do it alone and ensures you have a well-balanced understanding of the subject. You will need to understand the subject enough to understand what you need to ask yourself, as well as, what you need to know to answer said question.
I only use these three strategies to study and have found great success using them. I would strongly recommend a struggling student try out one of, if not all of these strategies.
Bold Deep Thinking Scholarship
I feel as though this is a complicated question to answer as several issues plague the Earth. These include, but are certainly not limited to, climate change, poverty, famine, the rights of children, and human rights. Out of the United Nations declared twenty-three global issues, these are the five most passionate issues I would like to work on. However, I wholeheartedly believe that out of these five global issues, climate change has to be the most important one.
Since some people refuse to believe that climate change is a very real and impending threat, I would be more than happy to present the statistics regarding the issue. According to NASA's global temperature scale, there's an obvious increase in temperature annually. For further context, In 1880, the annual global temperature was -0.16 °C, meanwhile, in 2021 it's now 0.85 °C. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change writes " Scientific evidence for warming of the climate system is unequivocal." Optimistically speaking, everyone reading this wants to make a difference in the fight against climate change, here is my proposition.
Even though this is a complicated and extremely difficult challenge to overcome, I would like to present one possible solution out of the many. In 2020, it was reported that cars produced approximately three billion metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions worldwide. Since the question states what "we" can do to work on this problem, I believe that includes individuals, corporations, and governments. Each one can contribute by reducing the total amount of greenhouse gases they produce by driving. Such as carpooling for individuals, corporations increasing the efficiency of vehicle technology, and governments increasing the efficiency of public transportation. Having everyone participate in this would be slow at first and increase emissions in the beginning but indefinitely ensure emissions are safe for the future.
Bold Books Scholarship
The most inspiring books that I've read are "Thinking Big" by Donald Trump and Bill Zanker. I read this book during an extremely hard time in my life, I read it in July 2021. My dad and I had a bad falling out due to family issues and I came to a breaking point where I left his house as a seventeen-year-old, on May 2, 2021. My mom was in a sober home and I had nowhere to live at the time, luckily my friend let me stay on his couch. I spent around two months almost in a self-destructive state, I would just barely get by in online classes, waste any money that I got, and generally had no real plans for the future. I decided to go to Barnes and Noble's one day to try and get into reading. I only picked the book because it had Donald Trump's face on it, and didn't even read the back or skim through it, but it was the best purchase of my life. I sat on the reclining couch staring at the ceiling wishing for something to change when I picked up the book and started reading it. I finished the entire book in less than a week and it completely changed my life. I began working out again, opened a bank account, got a credit card, moved into my Uncle's house to start my senior year at Westfield high school, and began positively thinking of the future. I've since moved into Wall Township with my mom and I'm taking action to pursue a better education and a better life for everyone around me. Thank you for reading all of this, I would strongly suggest that you read "Thinking Big" By Donald Trump.
Bold Growth Mindset Scholarship
I've gone through a couple of dark times but I have always bounced back from the desire of wanting to help people and put a smile on their faces. I've always tried and had a growth mindset since seventh grade, 2016. I was bullied nearly every day and needed something to change for the better. I began doing bodyweight workouts in my room almost every night. After my father was released from prison, I went every day with him to LA fitness. After I felt confident enough to stand up for myself, I tried to understand why the bullies acted a certain way towards me. I would look online and watch a bunch of YouTube videos and I realized that I thought of them as evil for what they did to me. I've since had a conversation with the main person that bullied me and came to find out that he regretted it completely. I concluded before, that they were just cruel and unfair for acting a certain way when in reality they came from challenged homes and dysfunctional families. I'm telling you all this so you have context into why I need to keep a growth mindset. Simply put, I don't want to just keep a growth mindset, but instead have everyone around me have one. That is how I manage to keep a growth mindset. Thank you for reading all of this, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Bold Dream Big Scholarship
My dream life looks like one where I can put a smile on everyone's face that I meet. I plan on accomplishing this dream by going to college, getting a good-paying job, and then using that money to affect everyone and everything around me. Having the financial ability to give to homeless shelters, give back to the different communities I've lived with, and be able to give to everyone in the entire world. I've grown up financially privileged for a majority of my life and know that money doesn't buy happiness, but I know that the majority of people need some to become happy. I plan on helping the people around me first, using their help I can then donate to people or organizations around me that need financial or volunteer help, and then I will repeat that cycle as I gain more people to help me in my mission. I greatly appreciate you reading this and I can assure you that your money will not only go towards me but will help contribute to people in need. Thank you.
Bold Impact Matters Scholarship
I always do and always have fought for what I believed was right. For example, if a kid was getting bullied I would always step in. No matter who it is I truly do want to help them, and most of the time I do. I have not completed as much volunteer work as I would have liked to, but I do help anyone that I can see. Whether that be someone I'm friends with who needs twenty dollars or a homeless man who needs a ride to get his phone fixed. I've encountered plenty of people in my life who have needed my help. I know that I'm going off topic from the question, but to be honest, I don't have one particular way in which I can positively affect the world. As someone who can't make big changes for the better yet, all I try and do is help the people around me no matter what they need. I'm sorry that I can't answer the original question as you may have preferred, because I believe that the people I help are the world too me. Thank you for reading all of this.
