Hello, I am a 28-year-old male that originates from a lower middle-class household where both of my parents worked within the healthcare industry. They both immigrated from Poland with low educational backgrounds, minimal English fluency, minimal finances, and barely any support from others leading to challenges while acclimating to the American culture
I have had the opportunity over the last several years to spend time in an array of healthcare environments (inpatient and outpatient) and patient populations (Brain trauma, Orthopedics, stroke/ALS, Urology, trauma) allowing me to recognize the needs of individuals and the major issues that exist within the healthcare industry.
With the sacrifices my parents committed to over the years, I strive to develop and progress into a career they were not able to obtain. I recently moved from Illinois to Michigan to work at a surgical intensive care unit in Detroit after completing a master’s in science of nursing degree from Marquette University. Additionally, I am currently undergoing an MBA program and studying for a critical-care nurse certification. My career aspirations is to become a nurse anesthetist and potentially a program director of a nurse anesthesia program. Furthermore, I would like to also provide opportunities for future generations who come from similar backgrounds as I did to help them accelerate in whatever career path they choose to direct towards. My ultimate goal as I progress through my career is to have a positive influence toward as many patients, healthcare workers, and individuals within as possible.

Bold Career Goals Scholarship
Currently, I am a Husky Dad of 2 working night shifts as a surgical intensive care nurse at a Detroit hospital Trauma 1 center. I also am a full time MBA student at the University of Illinois at Urbana champaign. After completion of my second graduate degree and experience as an ICU nurse, I plan to further my education an obtain a doctorates in nursing practice specialized in nurse anesthesiology. This path will require another 5-6 years of education and work prior to achievement.
Completion in a terminal degree is not the end point as I aspire to further my career path in a manner that will allow me to give back and have a positive influence toward others. An optional career path involves launching a new Nurse Anesthesiology program at a university and becoming a program director of the program. This would allow me to assist in growing the profession further by education new aspiring nurse anesthesiologists who can provide care specifically in rural areas that lack anesthesia providers.
