Big Picture Scholarship
When I saw the question asked for this scholarship, I laughed out loud! Write about my favorite movie!? I sat silently on my bed and thought. Almost instantly, a picture formed in my head, chanting "Star Wars". I tried to shake it off. No, I can't write a scholarship paper on Star Wars! But this constant echoing sound of Star Wars wouldn't leave me alone. I couldn't get it out of my head. No matter how much I thought, or how hard I tried. So, I have decided to embrace it. Star Wars has always been there for me. It is true. Ever since I was a child, I watched Star Wars. I know the movie by heart. Got the cheesy puns down flat. Every May 4th, we already know what's coming out of my mouth.. "may the fourth be with you". So, how has this movie made a detrimental impact on my life? It has shown me to forgive, as Luke forgave his father, for destroying planets and leaving him as a baby. It has shown me to not jump to conclusions, as Han solo did with his idea of "Luke and Leah", before knowing they were siblings. It has shown me to stand up for what I believe. And above all stay loyal to friends I must. Star Wars is an incredibly touching, and moving, movie series, with meaning to me that many people cannot fathom.
A few years ago the whole world got quite the blow. Covid-19 disrupted everyone's lives. Locked in their homes for weeks. they could only look longingly outside. Desperate for some sort of adventure. During these dark moments, a CD lit up, me, and my family's sad state. That special CD was, you guessed it, Star Wars. Star Wars was always with us, even when others couldn't be. Although, this may seem exaggerated. I assure you, it is not. There is, indeed, a cause for Star Wars being so famous. So world wide known. So Renowned. It is no mistake. It is no error. Star Wars, gives life advice, it gives happiness, and it gives people dreams. Dreams that they too, can one day, defeat evil Vadars, save Ewok tribes, and maybe, just maybe, have the force be with them. These are some major reasons, why Star Wars has made such an impact on my life. It is why this movie, is so near, and dear to my heart, and forever will be. I hope, you too, have been given the chance to watch this remarkable movie.
