John Young 'Pursue Your Passion' Scholarship
I am starting my senior year this fall in a Bachelor of Music composition, and this will be my last year of the college life. When I look back, I could not believe it!! That my path has been stepped to this far, and as a scholarship student I almost make it.
There were a lot of types of my footprints when I look back, the embedded one, the faded one, the unperfected, the distorted but all were on a track. And it meant that my passionate has never changed.
"a passionate to be a music composer."
I was born in Thailand, the country that is far more than 10,000 miles away with 12 hours ahead of the US. In a first year, everything here looks different, even though it’s not easy to be living alone and far from family. But now, I could say that “music lets us speak the same language.” The music is the thing that sustain me in each day.
As my believe that music is the thing that can sustain our life, and my passion to pass this through people. The 3 years in college has been shaping me to see what my future music work will be. And it is almost to reach.
My last year at the college will be “Independent Study” which I will have to do research and study in music. I aim to create music in different way. I could say that, I am not brave enough to hope it to change the world, but I am sure that it could be some part of/or could be a small piece that make our world the better place of living.
If you have some just a minute and quiet, and listening to things around, you will find its sounds which are driving us in every day. Starting with your alarm clock, sound of water flowing in basin from your restroom, the traffic light on street mixed with some rushing voices of the ambulance passing by. Since voice and sound are driving us, affected our emotion and with my eager to make people smile, these are the reason that I passion to work in music.
I am international student, with my family’s ability that they can support me in this degree as the highest, even my dream has run beyond. The only thing that I can do is, don't stop running.
As you may know that last year of the college is the hardest part, especially in financially (with the nonstop increasing of tuition while scholarship remains the same), together the impact of weaken currency (Thai Baht against US dollar). This fund will be the oasis in the desert and continue the breath.
Thank you for giving me a chance and space to sharing my words here.
