Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
Mental health is an incredibly important aspect of overall health and well-being. In my own experience, dealing with mental health issues has had a significant impact on my relationships and well-being. I've been through hell and back many times, had close calls with death, and somehow manage to fight off the negativity. How? My ambition to help others and the people who support me in return are my reasons to keep going. And I know that somehow I can help many more with my art.
One of the biggest ways that my experience with mental health has influenced me is in terms of my beliefs. Before dealing with mental health issues, I used to believe that mental health was something that only affected a small minority of people. I thought that if I worked hard and stayed positive, I could avoid any mental health problems. However, my experience has taught me that mental health can affect anyone, and it is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms so that you can seek help if needed.
Another influence mental health had on me was the change in my actions and feelings toward relationships. Partnerships, friendships, and close relationships with family members are examples of this. Before dealing with mental health issues, I didn't care about how I felt because I was happy when I made other people happy. However, as I grew older, I became increasingly closed off and hesitant to share my thoughts and feelings with others. I pushed my feelings down even further and forced myself to help others with their struggles. I learned that you can't help someone if you can't help yourself, and I managed to push away most of my friends because I kept secrets about my issues from them. My experience allowed me to develop deeper and more meaningful relationships with the people around me while I gave myself the help I needed.
Finally, my experience with mental health has also had a significant impact on my career aspirations. Before dealing with mental health issues, I used to be very ambitious and focused on climbing the corporate ladder. However, my experience has taught me the importance of taking care of myself and prioritizing my well-being. As a result, I have become more interested in pursuing a career that allows me to make a positive impact on the lives of others rather than just focusing on financial success. Art has many uses in the world and can be entertaining and meaningful for some. I like to vent my emotions into my art, but turn it into something that can help others. I want to use my experience and express my creativity to help people who are struggling with personal issues without taking away from the suspense and meaning of the story.
When it comes to career aspirations, mental health issues can sometimes make it difficult to focus and stay motivated. However, it can also drive individuals to pursue careers that are personally meaningful and fulfilling as they seek to help others who are struggling with similar issues. My experiences with mental health have influenced my desire to work in a field that helps people and promotes mental wellness.
Overall, my experience with mental health has been a challenging but ultimately transformative journey. It has changed the way I think about myself and the world around me, and it has helped me to develop a deeper understanding of what is truly important in life. I am grateful for the lessons that I have learned, and I hope to continue to grow and learn from my experiences in the future.

One of my academic goals is to earn a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts. As my high school didn't provide many art classes, I have been developing my unique art style and have consistently been drawn to the visual arts as a means of expression and communication. I believe that a formal education in the art will provide me with the technical skills, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities needed to pursue a career in the field.
In addition to my academic goals, I have also been committed to giving back to communities through my art. I have opened up commissions that can help me through college while giving to non-profit organizations that help marginalized groups such as The Trevor's project. I love to make my clients happy when they commission my art and I mainly enjoy giving money that I know will help those in need. These experiences have allowed me to share my passion for art with others and have made a positive impact on communities.
Volunteering and philanthropy helped me connect with my community and many online people who are small content creators. I've helped with local sports games to get closer to my community and babysitting to help with tuition and art supplies. Over the past few months, I've seen people use my commissions as gifts for others and it warms my heart seeing friends give to one another. I also use my free time to draw free art for friends as well and have entered plenty of art contests online to challenge my skills. I have seen firsthand the difference that can be made when individuals come together to make a positive impact. This has inspired me to continue to work towards making a difference in the world, and I believe that my professional goals and community involvement are closely intertwined.
Many people supported my pursuit of art and have guided me out of the darkness so I can continue making my imagination come to fruition. Thanks to the friends who stuck with me and the family members I have, I'm able to keep my head high and express my creativity to the world. I want to create stories, video games, and drawings that allow representation for everyone while presenting a deeper meaning in the story. I believe that art has the power to bring people together and facilitate social change. By using my art to shed light on important issues and inspire dialogue, I hope to make a positive impact on the world and contribute to a more just and equitable society.
In terms of professional goals, I hope to use my education and experience to make a positive impact in my field. This could mean working on innovative projects, collaborating with colleagues to find solutions to complex problems, or mentoring beginner artists to help them achieve their own goals. I am driven by a desire to make a positive impact and contribute to society's betterment. Through my education and community service, I hope to continue to learn, grow, and make a change for oppressed groups.

As an artist, my main educational goal is to continuously improve my skills and techniques to create high-quality, impactful pieces of art. I want to learn how to use various mediums and styles to express myself and tell stories through my work. I want to hone my artistic skills and develop a unique artistic style. I want to learn how to use different mediums, such as digital media, charcoal, and pencils, to create stunning pieces of art that capture the attention of the viewer.
One of the biggest challenges I have faced in pursuing my goal is finding the time and motivation to regularly practice and create. As a student and a person with many other responsibilities, it can be difficult to carve out the time and energy to focus on my art. To overcome this challenge, I had to prioritize my art and make it a regular part of my routine. I have also found it helpful to set specific goals and deadlines for myself to stay on track and motivated.
Another challenge I have faced is dealing with criticism and self-doubt. It is natural to have your work judged and critiqued, and it can be difficult to not take negative feedback to heart. And in many instances, people just want to bring others down. I had to learn to separate my worth from the success or failure of my artwork. I have also tried to view criticism as an opportunity for growth, and to use it to improve my skills and techniques. Failure is a natural part of the artistic process and it is important to embrace it and use it as a learning opportunity.
A final and big challenge I have faced in pursuing this goal is the lack of access to art education. Unlike many other subjects, art is not always taught in schools, which means that I had to seek out opportunities for learning on my own. My high school had fine arts, but I never had the opportunity to take that class. While searching for colleges, many didn't offer a visual arts degree. And it's gutwrenching to see none of the universities in the state offer a 2D animation course, something I've been wanting to take. This has been difficult, as it requires me to find and afford art classes.
Through my experiences, I've learned that the key to achieving my goal is to be persistent and never give up. I've also learned that it's vital to be open to new ideas and experiences and to constantly challenge myself to grow and improve.
Overall, pursuing my dream in art has been a rewarding, but challenging journey. Through hard work and determination, I have been able to improve my skills and create art that I am proud of. I have also learned the importance of perseverance, self-motivation, and the ability to learn from both success and failure. It has taught me the importance of being open to new ideas and ways of thinking, as well as the need to constantly strive for improvement. I am excited to continue on my journey as an artist and see where it takes me.

As someone passionate about digital art and storytelling, I have always been drawn to the idea of using my skills to give representation to marginalized communities, such as black, Asian, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I am drawn to the limitless possibilities of storytelling through animated series and other forms of visual media. I'm driven by a desire to create relatable, complex characters from diverse backgrounds, and to use my art to challenge stereotypes and promote inclusivity. I believe that everyone deserves to see themselves reflected in the stories and narratives that are created and shared with the world.
As a kid, I've always been drawn to creating stories. Lately, I've been trying to improve my artistic skills and writing abilities, so that I can create my entertainment with the sole purpose to help minorities find a place in media while telling a compelling story. For me, the process of creating digital art is a deeply personal and rewarding experience, one that allows me to connect with others and explore my creativity. I'm drawn to the rich, vibrant colors and dynamic imagery of animation, and enjoy the challenge of bringing my characters and stories to life through art.
As a digital artist who is passionate about representing black, Asian, and LGBTQ+ people, I also feel a strong sense of responsibility to use my art as a platform for social justice. I am motivated by a desire to give a voice to underrepresented communities. Through my artwork and animated series, I aim to showcase the diversity and richness of these communities, highlighting their unique experiences and perspectives. I believe that this representation is crucial for fostering understanding and empathy, and for promoting inclusivity and equality.
I am excited to pursue this passion and to continue to grow and develop as an artist. I am determined to use my talents to create meaningful and impactful stories that can help break down barriers and bring people together. I hope to inspire others and work with people to do the same and use their creativity to make a positive difference in the world.
In pursuing my passion for digital art and representation, I may face challenges and obstacles along the way. However, with dedication and hard work, I can overcome these challenges and continue to create meaningful, impactful art that resonates with others. By staying true to my vision and values, I can make a lasting impact on the world of digital art and leave a lasting legacy as a champion for diversity and inclusion.
If you're passionate about digital art and want to use it as a way to give representation to marginalized people through stories and animated series, then you're not alone. There's a growing movement within the art community to create more diverse and inclusive content that represents a wider range of experiences and backgrounds. This can be a rewarding and fulfilling pursuit, as it allows you to not only showcase your artistic abilities but also to give a voice to underrepresented groups. And I will be there to help uplift these groups who've been through tough times for many decades.
Sloane Stephens Doc & Glo Scholarship
One of the most important qualities I value in my life is kindness. I am a bundle of surprises, but I am also a person with mistakes. The ability to admit fault and help others avoid it is pretty rare. And I pride myself on it. When I draw, I work to fix small mistakes. In tennis, I would tell the coach things I could've done to prevent a point I lost. And with my mistakes, I want to help others learn so that they can avoid said mistakes.
I believe that kindness is a fundamental aspect of being human and it is something that we should all strive to cultivate in ourselves. It is a quality that can have a positive impact on both ourselves and those around us, and it can help us to build strong and meaningful relationships with others.
There are many reasons why I value kindness so highly. Firstly, I believe that being kind is a key component of being a good person. It allows us to show empathy and compassion towards others, and to be there for them when they need us. This in turn can help us to form deep and lasting connections with others, which can be incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.
Additionally, I believe that being kind is also beneficial for our well-being. It can help us to feel happier and more fulfilled in our lives, and it can also help to reduce stress and anxiety. This is because being kind to others activates the release of feel-good chemicals in the brain, such as oxytocin and serotonin, which can help to improve our mood and overall sense of well-being. Helping people brings enjoyment to oneself and those who need a shoulder to lean on.
Furthermore, I believe that kindness can also have a positive impact on the world around us. By being kind to others, we can help to create a more positive and compassionate society, and we can also help to make the world a better place for future generations. This is especially important in today's world, where there is so much negativity and divisiveness, and where it can be easy to lose sight of the importance of treating others with kindness and respect. Social media plays a big role when it comes to negativity. It's easy to interact with internet friends, but there's a side that brings in a random stranger who wants to harm others. And it's important to combat this mistreatment because everyone deserves to be happy with their life instead of living in constant dread.
With kindness, I want to show the world that there are people who accept them. I want to bring my art into the entertainment industry and help give representation to marginalized groups. I want to extend my compassion to others and I will not let large companies and bigotry stop me. I am determined to spread kindness to everyone who deserves it.
Overall, I believe that kindness is a truly valuable quality and one that we should all strive to cultivate in ourselves. It is a quality that can have a positive impact on both ourselves and those around us, and it can help us to build strong and meaningful relationships with others. It is something that I will always strive to cultivate in myself, and I believe that it will be an important part of my life journey.

A well-known private investigator's name began to circulate in the country. They were known for their quick thinking and clever comebacks, which often caught criminals off guard and led to their swift capture. This private investigator's alias is Ailynn.
One day, Ailynn was called upon to solve a mysterious murder case that had the entire city on edge. The victim, a wealthy business mogul, had been found dead in his luxurious penthouse with no signs of forced entry or struggle.
As Ailynn arrived at the crime scene, they immediately began analyzing the evidence and asking questions. They quickly deduced that the killer must have been someone close to the victim, as no one else would have had access to the penthouse.
As Ailynn examined the crime scene, they couldn't help but crack a few jokes to lighten the mood. "Looks like someone wanted to silence this guy," they quipped as they studied the bullet wound in the victim's head.
Although being criticized for countless jokes made in a serious moment, they were well respected. Not only for their positive behavior, but they were also a master of observation and deduction.
They quickly noticed a few key pieces of evidence that the other detectives had overlooked. Ailynn pointed out the terminal ballistics of the bullet as well as the gunshot residue found near the bullet wound, indicating the victim was shot at close range.
"And look here," Ailynn said, pointing to the bullet left next to the victim's body. "This is a specialized bullet that has the victim's name engraved into it. That must mean the perpetrator used the weapon owned by the victim."
They began to ponder before resuming their speech. "I'm sure a wealthy man such as him wouldn't leave a firearm out in the open. And with no sign of forced entry, the killer must be right under our noses."
The other detectives were impressed by Ailynn's keen eye and quick thinking. They spent the next few days interviewing the suspects. Ailynn's sharp wit and clever humor came into play as they interrogated the suspects, using clever wordplay and quick jokes to throw them off balance and get them to reveal their true motives.
After hours of intense questioning, Ailynn finally uncovered the truth. The killer was the victim's own son, who had been embezzling money from their father's company and feared being exposed.
Ailynn's comical behavior may have lightened the mood, but it was their intelligence and dedication to the case that ultimately solved it.
The killer was brought to justice and the country was able to breathe a sigh of relief. Another murder case closed with the victim's family broken but relieved they finally have closure. And Ailynn's reputation as the most infamous private investigator in the country was cemented once and for all.
Sean Carroll's Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship
It is important for us to better understand our universe's nature for various reasons. For one, a better understanding of the universe can help us learn more about our place in it and how we fit into the larger picture. This knowledge can help us make more informed decisions about our lives and our world. Additionally, a better understanding of the universe can lead to technological advancements and scientific breakthroughs that can improve our daily lives and benefit humanity. Albeit the technological path or an artistic career.
There are many different ways that we can work to understand the nature of our universe better. One approach is through observation and experimentation. By studying the universe through telescopes, satellites, and other tools, we can learn more about its composition and behavior. We can also conduct experiments in controlled environments to learn more about the fundamental laws and forces that govern the universe. For those not in STEM, we can create artwork that can help illustrate the good and bad of our society. By pointing out the flaws, we can understand what we can do to help nature and its people.
Many people who choose not to understand themselves and others fail to progress with society and are kept within a closed-minded state. For years, I've been developing my art style to find comfort and improvement within the art industry. Through art, I'll be able to create a safe space for minorities and pressed groups who have little to no representation in media. Many executives in the entertainment industry fail to provide any sort of comfort for these marginalized groups and I want to be the person who changes everything. It may not be medically or politically life-changing, but people must understand that art is as important as these subjects. Art stomps away mental challenges and creates a path for many artists to express themselves. With the stories I want to tell, I want to create media for everyone to enjoy. And most of all, I want pressed groups to finally have a place in the media where they are not shunned away for what they can't control.
Drawings, animated series, novels, video games, and more. These are the many projects I want to create for people to explore the imaginative world I've created. By learning the fundamentals and structure of our world, I want to implement more into my creations. I want to create an empowering message that people should not be ashamed of who they are. We shouldn't be hurting others, but instead, help everyone to further progress our world to a place where we don't always have to live in constant fear of prejudice or life-threatening situations.
Ultimately, a better understanding of the nature of our universe is an ongoing process that requires the cooperation and collaboration of scientists, researchers, artists, and more from many different disciplines. By working together and sharing our knowledge, we can continue to make progress in understanding the universe and all of the mysteries it holds.

My tennis coach always said, "L stands for learning, not losing."
My coach is getting old, but it's funny seeing him try to be hip with the kids. Although he says weird things, he always tries to support every tennis player. Even if it's an opponent, he would still find the time to help other players move forward. His selflessness and compassionate manner have motivated me to keep striving while helping others.
It's honestly not the best feeling to lose at something. I always congratulate my opponents. It's important to maintain good sportsmanship. However, whenever I lose, I always beat myself up for the small mistakes I made. I'm not the only one who gets discouraged over a loss. Many of my tennis mates would drop their heads at a loss. That's why the coach would remind us that we're still learning. We didn't lose. Everyone always has a starting point. It takes time and practice to better oneself; that's what the coach taught us.
I don't get too discouraged at losses nowadays, but it's still painful getting beat at something you enjoy. I push myself to become better at the hobbies I do. There will always be a limit to what I do. Even with the barriers, I will pull through those limitations. My coach supported all of the tennis players to keep improving. No matter the teammates or opponents, my coach was passionate about helping others. We should never be discouraged at a loss. We're all learning at something, so we must turn our downfall into a learning lesson.
Bold Generosity Matters Scholarship
There are many definitions describing what generosity is. Scholarly, generosity means the willingness to give or share. I believe generosity is the ability to lend a helping hand and support people in need, no matter the circumstance.
Expecting a favor in return isn't the meaning of generosity. Generosity comes with sacrifices but ultimately has a good outcome. Offering time, money, and energy to help someone is what generosity truly is. Friends, family, and even my tennis team have given me their time to help support my future. They motivated me to improve in art and tennis. They gave me a reason to keep living. In 2020, my mental health spiraled out of control. I was hurting myself and others around me. I felt horrible. I didn't ask for help either, but I am still grateful for all their love and support. After being on the receiving side of goodness, I want to help others become who they want to be. No matter the conclusion, I am willing to lend all of the support I have to help those in need.
Generosity comes in all sizes. I appreciate every ounce of it I get and will utilize it to help others. People close to me have expressed magnanimity. They knew they wouldn't get anything back but still assisted me through life. I am still here today because of the people I love. I know helping people will cost a lot of time and funds. However, self-sacrificing comes with a reward. It's a nice feeling to aid people because helping expands compassion. Making sacrifices to help others without forcing anything in return is what I believe the true meaning of generosity is.
Bold Goals Scholarship
Traveling the world and learning so many languages are very intriguing. There are so many things I want to do in the future, but so little time and money. There will always be a limit to what we can do, but it never hurts to try. There are many things I would love to do in the future, but my main objective is to lend a helping hand. My goal is to improve my art and animation skills to help others before myself.
It's no secret that our society doesn't serve LGBTQ+ members, non-Christians, and people of color respectfully. Due to many laws set decades ago to segregate and scrutinize certain groups, it's been hard to ignore any inappropriate remarks. It's not the best feeling having someone poke fun at the identity you didn't choose, but something you kept. No one should be exposed to hate regarding their lifestyle. That is why I desire to receive a bachelor's in visual arts. To expand my potential in art and create a community that helps people be themselves. I want to help other artists improve while helping oppressed communities be happy with their identities. People deserve to live the way they want to live as long as it's not harming others.
I would love to travel the world. I would love to explore many different cultures, but that's a personal aim. I have a mission to help others before myself. Everyone deserves to live in a place that accepts their identity. I would love to utilize my art to help create a show, video games, books, and merchandise that people can adore. I want to create suspenseful stories with characters representing several cultures around the world. I will use my platform to give a voice to those shunned by society.
Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
Ever felt as if you need to talk to someone about your mental health, but something is holding you back? Mental health can impact a person's life in the short and long term. Depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and many more are types of mental health that impact many people worldwide. My mental struggles have always held me down. There were days when I felt useless or days I just wanted to give up entirely. Although I am still dealing with a lot of struggles in life, I am grateful to be here. Now I want to be the one to help others combat their mental health.
Mental health is an issue many people deal with. According to the research done by Hopkins Medicine, about 1 in 4 adults, 18 years and older, suffer from a diagnosed mental illness. Yet, some people deal with mental illness and aren't diagnosed. I am someone who isn't diagnosed, but I do believe a person knows themselves better than others. I plan to see a professional soon because I shouldn't deal with my issues alone. However, no matter how hard life gets and whatever scrutiny I succumb to for not being professionally diagnosed, I want to continue to help others. I can see what I want to do in the future thanks to my friends.
For years, my mental health would hit me like a truck. I lost so many people in my life and the pressure it had put on my heart was not pleasant. Even with all the negativity that would crash down on me, I am grateful to have my friends. They have always been by my side and I want to be there to return the favor. Whenever I see other people starting to give up, I always reach my hand out to offer help. I want to support everyone, no matter their identity, sexuality, religion, or ethnicity. I was given a chance to continue living and I will utilize my life to create something that can help extend support to everyone around the world.
I am very creative and have a burning passion for art. I want to expand my imagination and create an animated show, a video game, merchandise, and books that express the identity of characters while including a suspenseful storyline. I need to make money in life to sustain a good lifestyle, but I also want to make more to donate to many organizations. The Trevor Project is a well-known LGBTQ+ organization I know who helps young teens combat scrutiny from society. I want to give Muslims, atheists, and people of color a voice through my art. Representation is important, especially in modern media, and I will use whatever platform I have to help young teens and adults find a safe place to be in.
I have struggled a lot in life. I try not to let the negativity get to me, but sometimes it's tough. Even talking about my mental struggles in an essay is hard, but I know I have to be strong if I want to help others. I know some people do not feel safe in their community because of their identity. I was the same way. It's why my goal is to create a community with my art that gives a voice to cultures ostracized by society. I want to help others and I will support anyone dealing with mental health. No one deserves to struggle alone.
Bold Hope for the Future Scholarship
With time comes change and with change comes more people with an open mind. Years to even decades ago, life wasn't easy for those a part of a marginalized group. I've seen LGBTQ+ members, Muslims, and people of color ostracized for a lifestyle they didn't choose but a life they kept. I want to see more people continue to accept others' identities because everyone deserves to live the life they want to live. Thanks to my friends, I think I'm able to see that.
I don't know how many essays I've written expressing my gratitude towards my friends, but my feelings are genuine. I am very fortunate to have friends that lifted me and gave me motivation. Not only to continue drawing but to continue living. For years, I've been trapped in my thoughts and haunted by my mental health. I was losing my grasp on life. But, thanks to my friends, I saw hope for my future. They gave me all the support I needed to continue and do the interests I love to do. Thanks to them, I know what I want to do in the future.
I still struggle with personal issues that would distract me from my interests, but I always try my best to fight back. I fight against negativity for the sake of myself and my friends. And now that I'm growing up and am ready to spread my wings and explore the outside world, I have to keep going. I want to thrive in creativity and construct something that would help others. Like how my friends helped me, I want to help others. I desire the utilize my passion for art to extend a helping hand to others.
In modern media, representation has been strict for decades. Studios are heavily impacted by censorship, causing consequences for writers and animators. A studio shouldn't get penalized for representing underappreciated groups. However, not everyone understands the different religions and identities people have. I know the risks I'll be taking if I try giving representation through my art, but that doesn't matter. It's not about those who hate on others. I'm committed to creating a show, a video game, and a story that shows the positive side of many cultural groups.
I am grateful to have the friends I have today. I know there will be obstacles ahead to stop me. However, with my friends by my side though I know I can get through it. Thanks to my friends I want to continue making art to help others. Asians, African Americans, Atheists, Muslims, LGBTQ+ members, and disabled people are all underappreciated in our society. Now it's time for me to change that.
Bold Talent Scholarship
I'm not the most talented person in the world. However, I know I'm skillful in a few talents. Art comes in many different forms. Not everyone can create it, so that's why I take pride in my skills to do digital art and 2D animations.
Traditional or digital art is time-consuming. It takes months to even years to improve in art styles. I started drawing back in 2013, drawing short comic stories of my friend and me. Over the next few years, my sister would throw away my stories and my friend would drift away from my sight.
I would continue to write short stories with fictional characters until the end of 2018 when I branched out into 2D animation. It was a rough start because I had never drawn digitally, but I got the hang of it over time and found my love in creating art. Thanks to my friends who motivated me to keep going, I was able to expand my imagination with art and even creative writing.
Whenever I want to draw, I go on YouTube, put a video on, and get to work on whatever is on my mind. I'm either sitting at my computer desk or on my bed, against the wall. As I continue to draw, I look into different college majors and minors to help me improve more in art.
I've created keychains for my friend's birthday and their happiness made me want to continue making more. My parents were happy about all the effort I've been putting into my art and I want to continue. I love making people happy with my art and I will work hard to keep all the support.

Everyone in life has experienced some sort of adversity that has affected them physically and mentally. Historically, many people from different background groups have been scrutinized and subjected to hate for many years. As someone who's mixed with African American and Filipino, while also identifying as an LGBTQ+ member, life hasn't been the easiest. However, I am still moving forward in life and I want to show the gratitude I have for the people who have helped me overcome conflict.
Although I've never experienced any violence that resulted in me being in critical conditions, I have experienced many slurs and hateful comments directed at my identity. These occurred at school and online, even if the person doesn't know my sexuality and gender. I've seen other people like me experience the same problems or even worse. I am lucky to still be here, physically unscathed. However, seeing myself and others undergo hateful moments in life impacted my mental health to the point where I would hurt myself and almost end it several times. Thanks to my friends, their meaningful words and our fun adventures together have helped me bounce back in life.
During and after college, I hope to have improved my drawing and animation skills to profit from it. I wish to start an online store that shows my art in keychains, stickers, button pins, posters, and more. Also, I wish to create an animated series and video games to give back to the communities I'm in, as well as other communities that need help. I want to use my art to give positive representation to the communities that have helped me and give a portion of my earnings to support them. I know several organizations directly help the communities I'm a part of, such as The Trevor Project and Black Youth Project, so I want to one day support these organizations to support the people.
For centuries, there has been hate towards minority groups for several reasons, whether it's due to fear, beliefs, or the feeling of superiority amongst other groups. I want to help those in need and also support my friends, who have been an amazing help to me for many years. I am grateful for the help I've received, so I want to be the one to help others as well.
Bold Loving Others Scholarship
After losing a close friend who put a price on our friendship, my world came crashing down. I trusted them with personal issues and information. There's no turning back now, so I must continue to look forward because that's where all my real friends are.
The friends I have now are amazing. I won't hide the fact that they have flaws, but even though that, they're honestly one of the most hardworking and compassionate bunch I've ever met. Sometimes I'm dragged down by negativity. Sometimes I feel as if I'm being a pain to my friends. However, my friends are always there to help relieve those weights. They spend their time hangout and resolving any personal matters I may have. These past few years have been rough on me, but I'm grateful for having the friends I have today.
I make sure I put the needs of my friends before mine. I may be tooting my own horn, but I spoil them with my ambitious and charismatic personality. I always try to balance my time with friends to make sure we do something they like. Seeing my friends happy is already enough to make me happy. I enjoy seeing them have fun. Whenever they're feeling down, I want to jump to action to make sure they're good. Their positivity is what drives me to keep striving more. For them - I want to be a friend who can joke around and hang out with for a while.
There's a lot of responsibility when it comes to maintaining friends. From past friendships, I learn that friends come and go. It's hard to understand how a person is truly feeling, but that won't deter me away from my friends. Now I want to help and express my everlasting gratitude for them.
Bold Simple Pleasures Scholarship
My simple pleasures in life are making my friends happy. To see my friends exert a pleasant aura of happiness gives me a feeling of contentment. Seeing my friends happy always seems to make me happy. I am thankful for everything that they have done.
I remember a time when my mental health was spiraling out of control. I was losing faith in life. My motivation for drawing started to disappear. My mind would race with endless loops of negativity for months.
That's until I made a revelation in my life.
After I removed myself from a toxic community, I opened my eyes. I stopped allowing myself to drag my friends down. I started to take care of my physical and mental health. I still struggle with a few personal issues, but it's safe to say that I am mentally doing better than I was a year ago. After removing myself from negativity, I was able to see the people who cared about me - my friends.
I adore the friends I have today. Hanging out and seeing my friends enjoy themselves makes me happy. My friends have always been by my side. With their never-ending support, I can continue doing the things I love. Being with my friends is comforting. I feel validated because of their persistence in being with me. Now, I want to do my best to keep making them happy because that's my simple pleasure.
Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
To be honest, I don't practice my study strategies every day because I like to depend on my memory or help from other people. Studying can be boring at times, but I will admit that it has helped me throughout school. Studying has proven to be beneficial for students looking to have a good grade, including me.
To achieve academic success, I study without overworking myself. It's important to take breaks and not put yourself under intense stress. Stress exerts a lot of mental pressure that could make it hard to focus on one's academic performance. Keeping a positive mindset on studying and taking exams is proven to be useful when obtaining information and utilizing it.
Another strategy, and one of my favorites, is eating a favorite light snack such as gummy bears or chips. It doesn't serve anyone good if they're working hard on an empty stomach. I love eating something that won't make me full while watching videos for classes or reading textbooks. Having a snack while studying is relaxing and can stimulate your brain to keep studying more.
It's also important to write down key takeaways and use flashcards to test your memory. I like to study with my friend when using flashcards because we both can study at the same time while hanging out. Writing is also useful to me because I am reading and writing the things I'm learning about.
There are also many useful resources online such as Quizlet, Bartleby, Speechify, and even YouTube that helps with studying. I make sure to practice my study strategies as much as I can to ensure that I achieve a great grade. I know I can't always depend on my memory, so having a study strategy is important for academic success.
Bold Happiness Scholarship
As cliché as it sounds, my friends honestly make me happy.
I've always valued the bond between my friends. I want to keep strengthening that bond because my friends are the people I adore and look up to. My friends are the source of my motivation and inspiration. All of the greatest moments I've made were with them and I want to be the one to make them happy as well.
My friends and the things we do for each other make me happy. I love hanging out with my friends, but what I love the most is helping them through any situation because I love to see them happy. Friendship isn't only about giving gifts and being together, but also about having an impenetrable interpersonal relationship through the toughest times.
Throughout my school years, I've gained and lost countless friends. It threw me into a spiraling loop of happiness and despair. I couldn't focus on anything until one day one of my closest friends disregarded me. From that experience, I learned to focus on what's important; my friends. Nothing will deter me from leaving them. I have amicable friends who like to joke around, play video games together, and know-how to motivate each other. I am happy with the friends I have.
My friend from school and my four friends online are the best people to be around. Through the horrible jokes we make and the laughs we relinquish, I am happy to have them. They lift me whenever I'm down. They inspire me whenever I'm discouraged. My friends make me happy and I am grateful for the countless support they give to push me to keep going on in life. That is why I am persistent in helping my friends accomplish what they yearn for.
Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship
After experiencing the death of my former tennis coach, I knew I had to stay strong for the sake of him, my tennis team, and myself. Someone like him, who drowned at the age of 34, has impacted the entire community. From the moment he taught me math and tennis to the time he died, I will always remember my coach and will continue to fight to honor his name.
A year ago, on March 29, 2021, my tennis coach, who was also my eighth-grade math teacher, was found floating on a riverbank. He was pronounced dead and a few days after, I and many others attended his funeral. It was sad seeing someone who had his entire future just stripped away from a slow, painful death. I remember the cries from those at the funeral. His mother crying out loud while his wife comforting their daughter. I also remember looking around, sitting next to the former tennis players who had already graduated. Their faces were full of tears and it broke my heart because all I could remember is that our beloved coach will never be here to help us in tennis again. After he had moved away, he promised my new coach that he would come to one of my matches, but now that time will never come.
Facing death is hard, but I know I had to stay strong if I wanted to better myself at tennis. I'm thankful for him inviting me to play inspiring me to be more active. My experience in tennis made me love the sport and team players who have helped one another. From the moment I was invited to tennis to the moment my former coach died, I became determined to win state tennis and show my previous coach what I have become. I am now fighting through my mental health, fighting through the painful death that lingers in my heart, just so I can become one of the best tennis players. I know there are many issues I have to fix before playing against professionals, but losses won't deter me away from moving forward in tennis. Thanks to my coach, I found a passion for tennis and I want to make him proud of who he taught before his passing.
My school's tennis team has always been a tight-knit family that's helped each other become better while having fun. Our former coach helped form the bond and made us independent tennis players. I am grateful for everything he has done and even though his death still hurts me, I know I have to look forward and smile if I want to make him happy. I've been working hard to win all of my matches, not only for me but for my team and my coach.
Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
Academically, confidence means the feeling of being able to rely on someone or something with firm trust. However, there's more to confidence than what meets the eye. Personally, confidence means being bold about your beliefs and identity. Confidence is showing self-expression without infringing other people's rights. For people to be comfortable with themselves, they must first build up their confidence and ignore any negative comments directed toward them.
Disregarding hate can be overwhelming and nearly impossible for many people. For years, I wasn't able to ignore comments about myself. I was always insecure about my body, height, and coming out with my identity. However, after seeing my friends experience hate because of something they can't control, I worked to build up the confidence to defend my friends. Confidence is the creation of positivity for oneself and others around. And I will utilize it to its true extent.
My high school has a few homophobic and racist people. Their hate for people's identities prompted me to be more confident. From a shy person in ninth grade to someone who's expressive about defending LGBTQ+ and minority classmates, I have grown to have confidence in myself. Although I'm not out with being an agender, asexual, and biromantic person, I am proud to stand up for others being themselves. Self-identity is important. Whenever I see people being themselves, I'm happy.
My confidence evolves around others' confidence. I strive to build more confidence and be more outgoing with my beliefs to help defend oppressed people. Seeing people be themselves fuels me to work hard for that too. There are a few things I'm still insecure about, but I learned to be happy about my identity. Now I want others to feel the same.
Bold Driven Scholarship
I always make sure to strive for excellence in academics and athletics. After maintaining relatively high grades and practicing tennis every day after school, I'm going to college to continue my hard work. Any form of help, financially or scholarly, will be appreciated because it motivates me to keep going to get a bachelor’s in visual art.
I wish to continue my education in order to create an impact on the world. I want to make my hobby into a career by improving my art skills to create an animated series and stories that advocate for philanthropy and equality while using a wide range of diverse characters. I’m determined to utilize my creative imagination to help others because I believe everyone should be allowed in society and be themselves without being ostracized. It’s about improving my character and skills to help others, and I will continue to go down that road.
My parents always taught me to be grateful for everything I receive, which I am. Thanks to my family, friends, and tennis team for always being there for me and fueling my motivation to continue making art. I wish to use my art to make a change in the world. I want to assist those of different races, religions, and sexualities to promote equality. By receiving this scholarship, I’ll be able to financially continue to help others obtain their human rights around the world and I’ll forever be grateful for all the help I got throughout my artistic adventure.
Environmental Impact Scholarship
The world has many problems that inscribe the destruction of our planet, leaving new generations to deal with the global situations. Even though there are a lot of issues impacting the environment, I am passionate about fixing the carbon emissions that are ruining our atmosphere. With our planet slowly deteriorating due to environmental disturbances, I want to create a change to benefit all species.
Carbon monoxide gets emitted into the air, causing climate change and global warming. With the effects in action, temperatures will continue to rise, precipitation patterns will change, storms will become more intense, and many other factors can appear that will harm the biotic community. Global warming is controversial, but it's pretty obvious that some sort of problem is affecting our environment. One of those problems is carbon emissions. Global warming threatens the arctic by essentially melting the place and intimidating land species with its rise in sea levels. Humans are the main cause of our planet slowly turning into the Lost City of Atlantis. With that, I want to help resolve the problem.
As someone who's been walking to school and sometimes tennis practice, nature can be pretty relaxing. Seeing people outside, talking amongst their clique, and animals chilling in the shade. Staying inside is nice, but the outside scenery is much more relaxing because of its natural aesthetic terrain. However, the beautiful blue sky and the grassy green yards are slowly dying. Especially in urban areas that have culturally dominated my factories and loads of cars, the atmosphere is dull and the sky isn't as blue as other areas. Even if it sounds irrational, I want to help the atmosphere and make it healthier by finding ways to power most of our energy with solar energy instead of gas. I want to see cities blooming with luscious flowers and extravagant trees. Plants help recycle air into the planet, but with carbon emissions destroying our land and causing drastic changes in sea levels, future generations may not be able to see the beautiful plants.
To help combat carbon emissions ruining our nation, I will continue to walk to places unless the destination is far or I'm going grocery shopping. I want to advocate for the planting of more trees and flowers to help make our world radiate. By families doing their diligence by tending to gardens and helping organizations contribute to more plants, we may be able to save our planet. Carbon emissions create negative impacts on our communities and it doesn't help that we create more factories and cars that depend on fuel. By limiting the usage of gas and doing more planting around the world, we can all help go against global warming.
When carbon monoxide is emitted into the atmosphere, it indirectly affects global warming. It causes land and seawater temperatures to rise and impact our ecosystem. If the sea levels keep rising then many cities such as New Orleans, the United States, and Christchurch, New Zealand will feel the effects of the water rising and will soon be underwater. I want to call out to people around the world to help fight against global warming because I want our world to keep on flourishing. By limiting the use of gas, we will be able to slowly save our world from sinking.
Bold Be You Scholarship
Every day is a battle of wits for me to gain control of my emotions so that I don't panic or become easily aggravated when communicating with other people. I pride myself on not letting people's words get to my head, but sometimes I can't help but be annoyed. Staying true to myself means improving myself while enjoying time with friends to make them happy.
My friend's happiness is always important to me. I start to doubt and self-deprecate whenever I fail to make them happy or bring a negative aura towards them. I also work hard to improve in certain areas such as art and tennis as I create time to be with friends. Negative emotions prevent me from being myself because it takes away all of my motivation. Lately, I've been trying to get back on my feet, regaining my confidence, and learning to move on to help myself and my friends. I haven't been the best person to be around because I would selfishly exclude myself. I'd pour my problems onto others who were dealing with their demons. Improvement is crucial to me. Every day I work to improve my mental and physical health. I work to become the best tennis player and a good friend. I love to impress people with my tennis skills, artwork, and overall personality to show my hard work.
Making my friends happy is what being true to myself means. Being there for them means everything because they're the ones who helped me through personal struggles. They're the ones who gave me the motivation to keep on moving, so keeping them happy is a priority every day.

Bold Turnaround Story Scholarship
Everyone has experienced an important bond that has broken and created tension between people. Rather it's losing a friend or breaking up with a partner, everyone goes through this type of endeavor that has changed their
One of my proudest turnabout stories isn't exactly the happiest moment in my life, but it has immensely benefited my mental health and future. The time my friend unfriended me, I was really upset, but it wasn't something new because our friendship has been rocky for years. It was bad timing too because I was dealing with a few personal issues that were rapidly declining my mental health. However, a few weeks after losing a friend I knew for years, I grew into someone who stopped holding back. From that experience, I learned to become the bigger person and accept what happened. I learned to keep moving forward for the sake of my health and the sake of others if I want to help others. From losing an important person in my life, I am proud to say that I grew into someone who respects others' decisions and moves on in life to better myself.
I still struggle with my mental health, but I'm glad to still have friends that are always by my side. Even if losing a friend sucks, I'm glad that it happened. I still miss them, but if it wasn't for them going on their path, I would still be holding on to the past and letting it eat at my mental state.

Bold Memories Scholarship
There are a lot of experiences I had that have shaped me into the person I am today, from sad moments to fun, adventurous ones. One experience I will always remember and hold close to my heart is the death of my former tennis coach. Someone who drowned at a young age has impacted the entire community. From the moment he taught me math and tennis to the time he died, I will always remember my coach as being one of the most influential people in my life.
A year ago, in March of 2021, I remember attending the funeral of my tennis coach. His family and people around town attended his funeral to pay their respects. I'm thankful for him inviting me to play tennis during freshman year. My love for tennis transpired into making me more active in keeping up with my physical health. Every year, I work hard to win tournaments. Although I was a semi-finalist for the regional tournament last year, I want to take it a step further and win state tennis this year. My experience in tennis made me love the sport and team players who have helped one another become better. The moment I was invited to tennis to the moment my former coach died, I became determined to win state tennis to honor his name.
I make sure I have fun playing tennis while not giving up. My new coach teaches me techniques on how to improve my game. He tells stories of our former coach. With the memory of our former coach still fresh in our minds, the team will work hard to become the best. Our former coach helped form us to become strong, independent tennis players and I am grateful for everything he has done.
Bold Impact Matters Scholarship
I wish to make a positive impact on the world that can be remembered for years. I'd love to advocate for minorities and oppressed communities being stigmatized by the media. A way I try to change the world for the greater good is by improving my art to help artists and to give a voice to those who can't speak up.
I am steadily growing my social media accounts to grow an audience who can appreciate my art and understand what I'm advocating for. I want to be the source of inspiration for many aspiring animators and artists. I also want to promote the conversation of giving more equal rights and a voice to oppressed communities such as African Americans, Muslims, and the LGTBQ+ group. With my art, I want to help those around the world and spread awareness about international conflict and what people can do to help. I will also try to improve my art to start an online shop and do commissions so I have a way to earn income. Half of the earnings would go towards organizations that help stigmatized groups such as The Trevor Project, which I've donated $6 before as that was all I could afford to donate. I do wish to donate more in the future with my art because I want to be able to offer help.
I know there are more skilled, experienced artists out there in the world who have a larger audience. There are artists such as Vincent Van Gogh who's made an impact on the world, but I want to be able to make a change by fighting for more equality. I will work hard to better my art skills to make a positive impact on the world.
Bold Influence Scholarship
If I had a large audience, whether it be online or in my community, I want to use my voice to advocate for equal rights for minorities and oppressed groups around the world. Being a highly influential figure will help push the notion that people should treat others fairly, no matter if they're African American, gay, transgender, or Muslim. Not only will I use my voice, but I also want to raise money in a creative way to support these social groups.
The way I want to grow a large supportive fanbase is by expanding on the idea of giving representation to oppressed communities. I want to create an animated series, a video game, and write stories to give a positive outlook for those who's been shunned by the media. With my influential voice, I want to direct people to treat others equally, no matter their identity.
I want to raise money through my art and charity streams then donate the money to organizations such as The Trevor Project and Black Youth Project. I want to make sure I can help new generations overcome the social stigma that they might be subjected to. I believe those with a loud voice should use it to promote the idea of equality for all. Equality has been a controversial and lengthy battle for centuries around the world, but thankfully we're slowly progressing into an open-minded community to help others and I want to help drive that progression.
Being an influential figure who advocates for the equal rights of gays and Muslims, especially in the United States, will come with some backlash. Not everyone is open-minded, but I will push through any resentment if it means helping people and showing the world my art.
Bold Music Scholarship
I enjoy listening to music because it's a way I find the motivation to draw. I don't have to depend on my friends because there is music out there that keeps my imagination going. And, with that, my song choice would be "Moving" by Get Scared.
Most songs I listen to stimulate my creative side. I would imagine how I would animate a song using my characters while also developing their story and personality. The song "Moving" is no different from the rest. The two lines "I wanna move on, wanna let go of sorrow. I wanna live on, I wanna change tomorrow" are at the beginning of the song and it's something I can personally relate to. My mental health has been dragging me down, preventing me from doing as much art as I use to before. I try my best to overcome personal struggles to help others and make a change in the world. However, if I want to leave an impact on how the world sociologically rotates, I need to know how to find my way out of sorrow. The song does a great job explaining my emotions and ideas of what I want to do in the future.
The songwriter, Feldmann John William, does a great job incorporating lyrics a listener can relate to. Besides the personal impactful lyrics, the instrumental and vocal portions were also good. I enjoy other songs made by the metal band Get Scared, however, "Moving" will always be close to my heart. It inspires me to continue doing my art. It also gives me a reason and innovation to keep moving on to help the world change.
Bold Love Yourself Scholarship
A typical person, except for a narcissist, has something they love and hate about themselves. I am no exception to this, but I know I need to start loving myself more if I want to be able to help myself and others. One thing I love about myself is the fact I can push myself through any adversity to help others in need and advocate for them.
For years, my mental health has been depleting and I would start to lose my sense of motivation. I never had a set goal in mind for my future, but thanks to my friends, I'm able to see the things I can do to help others. Whenever I start to feel down and panic, I would take a step back, breathe slowly, and recollect myself. I remind myself that there are people out there who are struggling in a worse situation than me, so I need to overcome my problems to help them.
After losing many friends throughout high school, I know that I must let go and respect their decisions. I know who my real friends are and I pride myself on taking the rational decision of moving forward instead of taking my anger out. I found my purpose in life to create art and change the world. I want to use my art to advocate for others who can't use their voice. However, if I want to talk for others, I need to make sure I'm not holding myself back.
People dealing with their problems can relate to others dealing with the same issues. That's the charm of understanding others. Although I know I will deal with more drama in life, I know to work through the conflict and find the best solution to pursue in advocating through art.
Bold Longevity Scholarship
To live a long, healthy life, one must be able to maintain their physical and mental physique. Exercising and eating a reasonable meal are examples of keeping track of your fitness. However, mental health also affects a person's productivity, so it's important to keep track of your mental health to keep a flourished life.
My parents have taught me to stay active in school. Although I've given up on several sports, I finally found my passion for tennis. I've been playing tennis for years and have grown to love the sport and the team. I've learned patience, how to move my feet, and to be more active in life. Sports support exercising. It helps with endurance and strength while preventing weight gain, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. It's also important to eat responsibly as World Population Review shows 11% of Americans suffer from diabetes, one of many obstacles preventing a long, healthy life, so it's important to exercise and avoid eating unhealthy foods.
Improving your mental health can also contribute to a healthy lifestyle. A person can start to lose themselves because they're letting their depression kick them down, resulting in temporary or permanent scars. If we're able to sustain our lives and help others, we can be content with ourselves and be able to mentally grow older and healthier. It's not only about helping yourself but helping others can prove to be beneficial for everyone to live a nourishing life.
Eating healthy and exercising are common factors of living longer. Also, I think taking care of your mental health and taking care of others can assist in longer lives. I care for everyone's sake to live longer, so I want to support those in need and also start taking care of my health.
Robert Lee, Sr. and Bernice Williams Memorial Scholarship
Everyone in life has experienced some sort of adversity that has affected them physically and mentally. Historically, people such as African Americans, Asians, Muslims, and LGBTQ+ affiliates have been scrutinized and subjected to hate for many years. As someone who's mixed with African American and Filipino, while also identifying as an LGBTQ+ member, life hasn't been the easiest. However, I am still moving forward in life and I want to show the much gratitude I have for the people who have helped me overcome conflict.
When exploring sensitive topics, it's noticeable that Muslims received many violent attacks after the September 11th attack on the twin towers. Jews were seen as outliers to the Germans, followed by all the Germans being called Nazis. Even African Americans are seen as violent gang members who rap and steal. All these instances shift hate into a specific social group, being detrimental to how other groups see them. I don't agree with hate being incited because, although we all have different beliefs that are the cause of many fights, we should all treat each other equally. It's whenever there are bad communities that are born to hate, such as groups in sundown towns and Nazis, that should be scrutinized because no one should be hated for their identity.
I am slowly getting back into art and animating thanks to my friends giving me the fuel and motivation to continue, which I am forever grateful for.
During and after college, I hope to have improved in my drawing and animation skills to profit off of it. I wish to start an online store that shows my art in keychains, stickers, button pins, posters, and more. Also, I wish to create an animated series and video games to give back to the communities I'm in, as well as other communities that need help. I want to use my art to give positive representation to the communities that have helped me and give portion of my earnings to support them.
Bold Dream Big Scholarship
My ideal dream life is making a change to the world in the most fun and creative way. I am sitting at home, drawing and animating every day to efficiently satisfy my social media accounts while keeping track of my online store. I will be working hard to write and animate an animated series that depicts positive representation for groups such as African Americans, Asians, Muslims, LGBTQ+ affiliates, and more. While I'm working hard to maintain my art career to help give a voice to minority groups, I will also work hard to maintain a healthy relationship with my boyfriend and my friends. No matter how difficult or unrealistic my dream life is, I will work hard to strive for it. I want to help people, especially push for more equal rights for the newer generation because no one deserves to be subjected to hate. I want to be sure I can financially support myself, these oppressed communities, and my friends. For many years, I was close to giving up, but thanks to my friends, they gave me the motivation and fuel to keep moving on in life. Thanks to my friends, I am still here to continue through my art profession. With the help I was given, I want to return the favor and help my friends and many others around the world to keep going without having to deal with any obstacles. I know I will have to go through many hardships when wanting to achieve my dream, but that's what makes life interesting and I will continue to fight for my dream and people in need of help.
Bold Science Matters Scholarship
Many scientific discoveries have emerged and improved over centuries and revolutionized the way people interact. Out of the countless discoveries in the world, my favorite is the discovery and compiling of the periodic table of elements. Elements can't be broken down any smaller and create matter, basically creating our entire world, which is mindblowing to me.
Taking a physical science, chemistry, and physics class in the same classroom, I was always fascinated by the two large periodic tables hanging from the ceiling. I would flutter in excitement when the teacher would teach us about the elements because I was always fascinated by how much a person can do with the elements and how it affects our world. The periodic table is categorized by many factors: atomic number, atomic mass, electron configuration, anions and cations, and much more. Each element is neatly placed in a row and column while needing a specific amount of valence electrons to achieve noble gas configuration without disrupting the placement they're in has always drawn me into learning more about the periodic table. Thanks to the creator of the first table, Dmitri Mendeleev helped future scientists who can adapt more information with his work while leaving space for new, undiscovered elements because he knew there are many other elements we haven't detected yet.
The elements can create molecules and compounds, resulting in reactions that can affect either side of the equation in chemistry. Everything, from the elements to the entire periodic table, is wonderfully and intellectually placed by great scientists such as Dmitri and others who sought to improve his work. I know there are other great scientific discoveries out there, but everything about the periodic table is fascinating to me.
Charles R. Ullman & Associates Educational Support Scholarship
Everyone belongs in a community, whether it's a friend group, specific ethnic groups, or the LGBTQ+ community. Some communities can be dysfunctional if a person associates themselves with toxic people, which can be very detrimental to one's mental health. I have gone through many ups and downs in life, but I'm grateful for being in a community that accepts my identity and helps me no matter what, so I want to give back the best I can.
No matter what community you're a part of, it's important to be involved with them to show your dedication and who you truly are. As long as a community isn't harmful to groups and is there to help its people, it can prove to be beneficial to future generations. By being involved with one's community, you're able to learn about different cultures and make friends with people of similar interests. In sociology class, I've learned that socializing is important for the growth of society and even beneficial to human growth. Without interaction, especially with people similar to you, we will struggle to navigate through life.
I am involved with many communities such as the LGBTQ+ group, people of color, and art groups. Although I'm not able to express myself out in public, I'm able to proudly be who I am online. I live in the south, and some people aren't too keen on African Americans or gay people. As an asexual, biromantic, and agender person, it's nerve-wracking to come out to people I live with. And with racists around the world, it limits me to travel to certain areas to secure my safety. Even with the world littered with horrendous, scary people, there are luckily good people who help me overcome personal and real-world problems.
Whenever I am worried about anything, I have friends who are here to help me. My motivation for art stems from being around my great friends. From my one remaining friend at school to a few friends online, I'm able to be myself without having to deny my identity all while having fun experiences with them. I want to get a bachelor's in visual arts to improve my art and animations skills. With my improvement, I want to profit off of my art by creating an animated series and video game that gives representation to LGBTQ+ people, Muslims, African Americans, and more. If I earn money through my art, I want to give back to the communities to help the younger generation through any harm while also giving back to the friends who boosted my ambition to keep moving forward. Thanks to my friends and the communities I'm a part of, I want to also help others financially and through a positive representation to push for equality for all.
I am always pushing on to improve my art, not only to benefit myself for the future but also to benefit others for their own sake. The world is still progressing and we need more people to represent the oppressed communities around the world. The media needs to show these communities in a positive light, so I will do my diligence to help these groups. I want to show the world my art and help those in need. And, most of all, I want to help my friends because of how much of an important impact they've been in my life, helping me through personal issues, which I am forever appreciative about.
Youssef University’s College Life Scholarship
Earning money is important to me, especially whenever making a big move from the high school environment to a college.
If I were to receive $1,000 right now, I would use about $250 for art equipment such as an apple pen, charger, drawing glove, and tablet stand for the iPad my sister gifted to me for Christmas. I want to start improving more on my art style and the fluidity of my animation skills, so buying the proper items such as the apple pen and stand would help me immensely as I won't look like a shrimp while sitting at my computer desk drawing.
Then, I'll use another $250 to help fund my idea of creating an online shop that features my artwork through keychains, stickers, button pins, and more. However, I do know it will take a lot more time and money for my ideal plan to hold a sustainable online store, so I will make sure to take things slowly throughout college.
Finally, the rest of the money would go into necessities in college as I want to pursue a bachelor's in visual arts. I'll use the remaining $500 for anything that comes up during college such as food, textbooks, and maybe even helping my friend out as they're going to the same college as me and has helped me through my ups and downs in life and I will forever be grateful for their help.
Bold Investing Scholarship
There are plenty of investing tips people learn from that are important. For me, setting a goal is important, even if it seems bland and unoriginal. Almost everyone sets a goal when investing because a goal helps drive a person to procure their earnings for a certain item. I don't know much about investing, but I want to learn more about it, especially if I want to open up an online store featuring my art.
Setting a goal is the main factor for investing because it starts off the foundation as to why you're investing and what for. I've learned that, as an artist, growing an audience and obtaining resources for your art can be difficult. I want to create keychains, stickers, posters, button pens, and more that can show my art, but creating a bulk of those resources can take time and lots of money. I want to start investing while steadily trying to build an audience because it gives me time to earn the money I need for a drawing pen for my tablet and the assets to create keychains and stickers. I will also need to save up money for college, so managing money can be pretty tight. However, I'm committed to going to college to improve in my art while trying to create an online presence to profit from my art.
Without setting a goal, I wouldn't know where my passion would be. With the ability to set a goal for something I'm eager to continue in life, I'm able to invest more for my future. Setting a goal may seem like the typical advice everyone should know, but I see it as one of the most important pieces of advice whenever investing.
Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Patience is the tolerance of delay or trouble without getting upset. Not everyone has any patience and most have been aggravated about waiting in line or seeing who's the next winner of the scholarship they just entered. Although waiting can be a pain, patience is key when obtaining a positive mindset without lashing out at people.
Personally, patience is important as it allows me to build more stamina for tennis and improve my art skills. If I rush into situations, I lose momentum. During tennis, my coach notices I have a good backhand, but the majority of the balls I hit go out. He has taught me to wait for the ball until it has slowed down and to keep breathing whenever I swing. That technique is patience, which I have been practicing and seeing an immense amount of improvement, just like with art.
Art takes a lot of time, so patience is really important. Developing an original art style and improving it can take months or even years. There were times I would rush a drawing and think negatively of the outcome because I wasn't patient. Lately, I have been taking my time with drawing and trying to improve my fluidity in animating before starting college. I want to profit from my art, so practicing patience can benefit me in the future if I want people to like my art.
I am thankful for having friends who can distract me from overworking myself and a great tennis mentor who teaches me the importance of patience when wanting a good swing in tennis. Being patient is important to me because it helps with improvement and gives me more time to spend with friends. I will continue to work hard, but will also take things slow to better myself.
Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
Friendship can have different meanings depending on the person you're asking. Friendship is subjective, sometimes even controversial, but it's important to have an interpersonal relationship with people. Throughout my entire school life, I've gained and lost friends and, even though it can be painful, that's the charm of friendship.
Relationships in general aren't supposed to be easy. As humans, we mature with different beliefs and morals. To me, friendship is trusting in a bond between one or more people, even with different beliefs. In my case, keeping the friendship between my only friend that has remained with me during high school is important because it helps combat the sense of loneliness and enhance physical and emotional health. Sociologically, friendship is proven to be beneficial to people, but even without the science behind it, friendship is important.
Getting scared at sleepovers, playing hide-and-seek in the dark, running around outside at four in the morning, and playing video games until someone gets bored are examples I've experienced with my friends. It's the fun, adventurous experience you can have with friends that makes the bond special. Friendship does come with flaws and I've been in many arguments with friends before, but if that bond is still there even after arguments, that means that relationship is important, which is what I value.
Sharing common interests and going through drama together is what makes friendship important. I will stick with my friends through their ups and downs as they've done for me. I am grateful for having the friends I have today because they're the fuel to my motivation and the reason I can be myself around them. Everything in life comes with problems, but if you're able to work through them with people you trust, that reveals the meaning of friendship.
Bold Make Your Mark Scholarship
As a whole, the world is infested with many social issues that affect certain individuals and subcultures. Starting a discussion and taking action is important when wanting to improve and progress society. Although I can only control my voice that can be overheard by the masses, I can try to spark up conversations and even garner support if I try to push through any blockage.
To make a mark in the world and be remembered, I want to fight for equality visually and vocally. Of course, I won't be remembered as much as the people in the 1800 and 1900s because they were the pivotal role that started the discussion of equality for all races and genders. However, I want to keep advocating for what I believe is right, which is fighting for equality for everyone around the world. I want to be remembered through online media by leaving my artwork on several social media sites. I also want future generations to know what I promoted through my art, even if facing backlash. Equality is important and I want everyone to know that my leaving my mark in the art field.
Many other social conflicts are emerging around the world that I would love to discuss, however, because there are so many people with different beliefs and perspectives, it's difficult to discuss without getting into arguments or even fights. Even with its difficulty, I will still fight for equality, no matter if it's in the United States or around the world. Even if there are people who disagree with my actions, I will showcase the topic of equality through my art and writing skills to leave a trace of myself while also influencing future discussions of equality for all.
Andrew Perez Mental Illness/Suicidal Awareness Education Scholarship
As an aspiring artist and animator, I am working to improve the artistic skills that can carry me to pursue my passion for art. I love to express my thoughts and feelings through art while sometimes bringing real-world conflict into the meaning of my art. Animating and drawing is a safe place for most artists, such as myself, so I would love to expand on my creativity to tell a story with great representation and practical solutions for personal issues that can appeal to many. Even when facing difficulty in life, I luckily have friends who motivate me to keep moving on to pursue what I enjoy.
To start, I have never been officially diagnosed with any mental illness such as depression or anxiety. Although self-diagnosing can be very controversial, there can also be a good side to it because a person knows themselves better than anyone else. For many years I have struggled with many personal matters that resulted in a horrible sleep schedule, missing out on many meals and even self-harm. I plan to one day see a doctor because I am finally an adult, but as for now, I am happy to have friends with me. The one friend from school that has stuck by me for years is important they made me feel as if I have importance to them. I am also grateful for all my online friends who talk to me every day. They always give me the motivation to keep drawing and moving on in life, which is why I do the same because no one should be subjected to negativity.
Nowadays, I am slowly getting back into art, but am also trying to find a way to profit from it by doing commissions. From my experience, I learned to not force myself to draw through creative block because the result of the drawing will be displeasing. Forcing myself to draw through stress and no motivation will be detrimental to my health, but thankfully I learned to take things easy if I want to have a high-quality form of art. I also want to help other artists through creative block and whenever they're feeling sad. Not only mine, but other people's mental state is important because I believe we should all keep going to pursue what we love.
I want to improve my animation and writing skills so that I can create an animated series discussing equality subtly while immersing a large age range of people to keep watching because of its suspenseful story. It's an important talk to have as equality can help everyone. African Americans, Asians, Muslims, gays, transgender, and other pressed individuals should not be subjected to any hate. I know some people worry about their kids learning about the LGBTQ+ community, but that mindset sets a negative view on the community. We're all the same, so I want to express that through having a show with a diverse cast of characters that represent equality while also maintaining an interesting story.
Mental health can be detrimental to everyone as it drains our physical and mental energy. Even though my lowest moments, I am very lucky to have friends who gave me a reason to move forward. I want to advocate for equality for all so no one will feel as if their existence is a pain to others. Everyone's mental health is important and I will make sure I improve in my art to help those in need.

Equality has always been the center of many discussions since the past century or so. From Martin Luther Kink Jr. fighting for the rights of African Americans to Susan B. Anthony being a crucial role in the women's suffrage movement in the 1800s. For a while, people are fighting for equality and others who see themselves above certain groups. Thinking rationally, having equality for everyone is near to impossible because certain cultures around the world put individuals above others as well as people who just loathe equality. Even though the probability of giving equality to all is low, I want to push forward and give support to everyone who needs it.

Bold Passion Scholarship
Ever wonder how someone can create beautiful, detailed drawings and musical lyrics from out of nowhere? One of my passions is art and I always defend any form of art. It's a way to express someone's thoughts and emotions. Art is an important aspect in life that helps stimulate artists to continue making the world more captivating, which is why it's important to show people what art is about.
I believe art is the epitome of learning the thoughts and perspectives of those engaging in creativity. Art can come in many forms such as music, paintings, sculpture modeling, vandalism, and more. With the widespread of art out there in the world, it can influence a person's attitude as well as certain cultures. Mexico and many Latin American countries celebrate Day of the Dead, a holiday littered with art that exhibits its vibrant traditions with Calaveras, an artistic representation of skulls. Another example of art showing a country's culture is Lunar New Year, celebrated by eastern and southeastern countries in Asia. Many of the crafts and dances are dedicated to the twelve Chinese zodiacs and the traditional Chinese dragon. These examples are my favorite holidays because their culture is shown through its original form of art, which enthralls me into loving art and exploring more cultures around the world.
Some people don't see the importance of art, even if there is art all around. Art helps differentiate a country's traditions from others as well as give the world a more vigorous feel to it. I engage in art through digital drawing, 2D animating, and writing. It has allowed me to imprint my imagination and feelings into art, which is why I am passionate about the importance of art.

Animating and drawing is a safe place for most artists, such as myself, so I would love to expand on my creativity to tell a story with great representation and practical solutions for personal issues that can appeal to many.
I've been drawing and writing stories since 2012, but I only started doing digital art towards the beginning of 2018. Animators on YouTube and cartoon shows such as "Gravity Falls", "The Owl House", and "Amphibia" have immensely helped expand my imagination and inspired me to create my art with a great story. As someone who never looked forward to my future, I now know that I want to keep making art. I yearn to make an animated series that can help represent people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, Muslims, and more. Representation is an important aspect to me when incorporating a show for a wide age range, however, I also want an adventurous story that can draw in people with its twists, suspense, and its diverse characters. Although, it's not as easy as it sounds when going forward into the field of visual arts.
Many artists, content creators, and workers experience a lack of motivation. Amongst artists and creators, it's called creative block, which is the feeling of not being able to access one's creativity and not feeling inspired to do a hobby they once loved. Creative block can last a few days to even months or longer. This is a big deal for me because I do digital art as a hobby and lately, I haven't been drawing as much as I use to a year ago. That's due to having no motivation that can stimulate me to keep making art. My lack of motivation was also a result of personal issues that have drastically impacted my mental health.
Nowadays, I am slowly getting back into art, but am also trying to find a way to profit from it by doing commissions. From my experience, I learned to not force myself to draw through creative block because the result of the drawing will be displeasing. As of now, I am still working to improve my art, animation, and writing skills to have an impactful story for many people around the world. Expressing my creativity while also having the conversation of equality is important to me because no one would be subjected to hate. I am passionate about helping others through my art and I will make sure no real-world problems or my mental health will stop me.

Equality is important because no matter if a person is religious or not, we're all created as humans; a species looking for a way to survive through communicating and interacting. If I was allowed to influence a prominent social issue, I will try my best to find ways that can move the conversation of equality to a wide range of audiences around the world. Civil disobedience, commonly known as a form of protest, can help push the talk of equality because civil disobedience is going against the law, but uses no form of violence. It's important to act our civil disobedience because violence can lead to people getting hurt, as well as gaining a poor reputation via online media. If we yearn for equality, we must treat others right and know how to debate in case of a counterargument.

Isaac Yunhu Lee Memorial Arts Scholarship
Digital drawing and 2D animation have always been an interest to me for several years now. I plan to go to school for a bachelor's in visual arts with a concentration in computer art and animation. Doing 3D art and animation is a big step for me, but I am willing to learn new techniques in school to help my art career. Although I am pursuing visual arts on graphic designs on computers, I do prefer and adore digital artwork.
I post most of my art and animations on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. I am still trying to improve and grow a community that loves my art. One of my favorite pieces of art was a recent Christmas drawing from 2021, gifted to my friend. The artwork showcases my and my friend's Roblox characters, an online game creation system where you can decorate your avatar and play many games. My friend has always been a great source of motivation and inspiration that keeps me going when creating art. Whenever I feel bored, he's always there to lift my spirits, so around Christmas, I decided to draw something that would symbolize our first Christmas together, as well as show him the art he loves. Thankfully, he compliments my art, which also fuels my motivation and I am glad to have a friend like him.
About the art, it's a digital drawing that represents my friend and I having fun together on Christmas day. The main focus of the drawing is our facial expressions to show our emotions. I did work hard to get the details right on our character's outfits, but even that isn't as important as the bond we have together. Our friendship is fun, adventurous, and there are of course problems we both go through together, no matter what. Another thing to point out is our character's aesthetics that differentiate from each other as my character uses dark colors and my friend's character uses light. It also reflects on our actions in real life as there are a lot of things we disagree with, but we're still keeping our friendship strong. I did want to give my friend something for Christmas, but my friend and our friendship is the reason that inspired me to draw one of my favorite pieces of art.
I have always adored all of my friends as they give me the motivation to keep drawing. Lately, I've been going through the decline of my mental health and creative block that gives me a lack of motivation. However, I'm lucky to have friends that can help me through my struggles, so I make sure I can do the same for them while gifting them some of my love and time through my art. The friend in the art shown is someone I hold dear to my heart as he's always been there for me any time of the day and I appreciate everything about him.
Bold Self-Care Scholarship
Mental health affects the way people think, feel, and behave when socializing with people. Keeping a healthy mental and physical physique is important when developing one's character and learning through communication. I sometimes self-deprecate as a way to cope with my flaws, but I've started to practice self-care to improve my attitude towards society.
Every morning, I wake up to send my friends a good morning text so that their morning will start well. Then, I take care of my hygiene and get ready to do all the work that needs to be done that day so that I have enough time to hang out with my friends. At random times a wave of negativity overwhelms me. To combat the decline of my mental health, I take slow, deep breaths and be sure to take things easy. Months ago I would turn to self-infliction, but I am working on myself to stop letting my struggles get to me and help myself to help others. I would also do digital drawings to help relieve stress, which has always helped me for years now. Practicing my way of self-care has helped my life immensely as I don't hurt myself anymore, my skin is starting to clear up, and I don't bother people as much with my problems.
Practicing self-care can help in the long run as it can improve one's physical and mental physique, as well as maintain a healthy mindset that can help others around. Years ago, my life has been spiraling downwards, and it still does from time to time, but I found easy solutions to help my health. Art, hanging out with friends, and playing video games are hobbies I enjoy doing that help me overcome any situation.

Education is a process where information is given and received through systematic instructions and socialization that helps improve personal growth and intelligence. Most commonly found in schools and colleges, these institutions allow people to gather knowledge and pass down what they've learned to others by communication: a technique commonly used by living beings to transfer information. Information can also be garnered through social media outlets and personal experience, which are factors that helped me shape my worldview.
Learning about international conflict, basic communicating, math solving, and work skills are key components that allow society to progress. The education I've learned from online media and school is limited as social media mainly shows information similar to what I've been looking at. As well as my state has one of the worse education systems in the United States. Even with the limited amount of knowledge I've garnered over the past decade, I am still working to teach myself to understand current conflicts around the world. It's important to emphasize the significance education can have for a worldview and character growth.
Not being educated in certain situations can lead to conflict arising amongst individuals and subcultural groups. For instance, saying a racial slur to someone whose ethnic or identity falls under the group the slur is directed at can lead to horrendous consequences. A lot of people think history is boring, but without history, people won't be able to understand the story behind certain words and can create adversity. Also, education is a fundamental factor in life that helps people develop their thoughts, personalities, beliefs, and consciousness. people can think of many possibilities that can help steer their life, painting education as one of the most important factors contributing to life and one's worldview.
Thanks to education, the probability of me running into risk has decreased because I understand the animosity behind slurs. I understand international relations and conflicts that are happening around the world that either benefit or can ruin our economy. Education has helped shape my worldview by teaching me the importance of context behind slurs, the history of countries, and modern-day disputes that can immensely impact everyone globally. Life would be difficult to navigate through without education because education is an important aspect of developing, not only people but technology as well. People should not take education for granted, but utilize what they've learned to make life much easier.
School won't teach a person everything that's going on around the world, so I am working to teach myself the meaning behind certain groups. I want to learn more about other religions, cultures of other ethnic groups, understand relations around the world, and see what I can do to help. People shouldn't shun others away, but use their voice and intellect as a way to advocate for others and navigate around the world to avoid future problems.
Bold Best Skills Scholarship
I am very skillful at things such as tennis, animation, and digital art. However, one of the best skills I believe I procure is my ability to resolve situations. The element of arguing is a common factor for many people in society as it's a form of communication people partake in to get their opinion out.
Getting into arguments is the worse as it brings many negative emotions to both sides of the feud, but luckily I have the tenacity to keep my cool for most arguments and find a middle ground. I am persistent about advocating for change that benefits people who are socially at a disadvantage. Some people disagree with my stance on certain social situations because it goes against their beliefs. I can respect people having a different opinion because that's what makes our culture unique, however, that doesn't mean I'll stay silent. People with different opinions will fall into a debate. I've been in many debates in school before like in civics class or AP English. I make sure we communicate civilly. I avoid being antagonistic towards people and whenever I see hostility occurring, I work to calm the situation down for the conversation to keep moving. Understanding both sides of an argument can avoid any animosity from appearing, which is what I strive to maintain while discussing with people.
There are times I bicker with people at school or online games, but I do work to avoid dragging the arguing on. Fighting results in nothing good, so my ability to resolve conflict is important for keeping a discussion. I am working to improve my ability to resolve by taking a communication class and practicing patience in debates to help in the future, especially in college.
Bold Listening Scholarship
I am always open to discussion, whether the topic is about something controversial, serious, or even boring. A way to socialize, communicate, and grow our character is to actively listen to people. By being good listeners, we can learn more about people as well as make others feel acknowledged.
For many years I've worked to recognize struggles from people around the world whose voices aren't being heard as much as others. I've had friends who were going through personal struggles that would physically and mentally affect their lives. I also had issues of my own and understood the importance of having someone listen to one's vents and rants. I work forward to listening to my friends to help them, give them the motivation to keep on thriving and be a great friend for them to want to depend on. Not only my friends, but I want to listen to what everyone around the world has to say. By listening to the outbursts of people wanting change, I want to grow a platform and advocate for the right things like equality.
Listening means taking time from one's self and using it to help people who need assistance, rather it's for the sake of not being bored or wanting to seek mental help. I may not have the greatest responses, but I will make sure to be a person who listens to everyone. I am not looking to fight anyone, but to find common ground and give help to those in need.
Bold Giving Scholarship
Giving is the act of offering some sort of gift or support without expecting anything in return. Giving is essential because it shows a form of gratitude to a person who's deemed important. I don't expect much from anyone, even from friends, but I want to give back to the people who's been by my side for a while and have been helping me while I strive to improve.
A friendship and relationship should not have a price put onto it. I think it's important to understand the thought process behind a gift than the gift itself. Besides physical gifts, having friends to help with personal struggles is one of the greatest gifts anyone could ask for. Having a friend bestow their love and support to others is the best offering to give. With my friends helping me for a while now, I want to make sure I give back to them as they helped me overcome mental challenges and negative thoughts. I want to be there for my friends and give them the support that can also help them bypass any conflict that life may hit them with.
No matter what the gift is, it's important to understand that not everyone is fortunate to receive a gift. Not everyone has someone to lean on while they're dealing with personal struggles. I want to give my friends and family all of my love and support as they continue to do the same for me. I appreciate everything that was given to me, and I want to do the same back, for them and also those who need a helping hand.
Bold Growth Mindset Scholarship
It's a common fact that everyone will face some sort of problem in their life, whether it's mental health or just stressing about a test. Ever since I was 13, I would have a weak mindset that would send me spiraling down endless days of negativity. However, as I grew up, I began to become a realist and started working on my mental state by growing a stronger mindset.
Before starting anything competitive or stressful, such as a test or a tennis match, I always motivate myself. If I degrade myself, I'll perform worse than usual, which will result in me getting angry, which will then worsen my performance. By keeping a positive mindset before anything, I'm able to see better results and be my best throughout the entire occasion. Helping and motivating others always brings me happiness, so I want to make sure I can not only help myself but those around me.
There will be situations that would bring me down and people who would hate me, but I taught myself that I control my life and we're all unique on the inside and out. We shouldn't let the negative comments get to our heads. People will find a reason to hate, but even so, I won't put others down. I'll help my friends and help myself grow a healthy outlook on life.
Bold Helping Others Scholarship
There were situations where I would want to argue for something but couldn't speak up due to fear. Afterward, my actions would taunt me, making me regret not taking a stand for what I believe in. It's not just taking a stand for my personal beliefs, but taking the initiative of helping others who deal with backlash all because they have no one to help stand for them.
In 2019, my civics class was having a debate about Democrats vs Republicans. Although I don't associate with any political parties, I decided to argue for the democrats because of one belief the majority of them stand for; same-sex marriage. I am passionate about standing up for people who just want to love whoever they want. People who like the same sex, identify as a different gender, and those in polyamorous relationships deserve to be treated the same way as any other person. People can have their personal opinions, which I respect, but if someone's beliefs go against one's identity and they begin to dehumanize people, I will take action. At the time, I feared speaking up, but now I am passionate to help others freely express themselves without being degraded.
Now that I'm a senior in high school, I want to always argue for gay rights. Everyone deserves to be who they are as long as it's not shaming and putting other people down. I advocate for the sake of people whose voices are drowned by hate. We all have differences, but as long as we help others along the way instead of degrading them, then I believe we will grow as a society. I won't stay quiet anymore because I will support what I believe is right, which is humanity and equal rights for everyone.
Bold Motivation Scholarship
My biggest motivation is my friends who compliment and give me the courage to keep thriving for the best in life. My mental health has always been a factor that contributes to my laziness and demotivation to keep making art. However, the friends I've made over the years have been a great motivation for me every day.
About three years ago, I was always motivated to draw daily to produce and strengthen the story of the characters I've created. As time goes on, I've become increasingly busy with school, sports, art, hanging out with friends, and just having time to myself. I would write about future ideas I would like to make come to fruition, but it'll take a lot of time and money to make a video game, an animated series, and an online store. Thanks to my amazing friends at school and online, I'm able to explore more of the creative side of my imagination and keep improving because I appreciate their nice comments and constructive criticism.
Not only do my friends motivate me to keep on drawing, but they also inspire me to improve in school and sports and my advocacy for equality amongst several societal subcultures. I want to also be a person who can motivate others while having motivation as well. I am glad to have good friends who allow me to express my gratitude through my drawings and I want to continue making art with the motivation and garner from them.
Bold Joy Scholarship
In terminology, joy means having the feeling of great pleasure and happiness. I see joy to be similar to the actual diction of its original meaning. However, to me, it's a collective feeling of happiness with family and friends, which everyone is feeling happy.
There are different forms of joy a person can find in friendships and relations. People can find joy within the pain of others or being genuine with those they care about. Hanging out with friends, which both parties are having fun together is what joy is to me. For me, joy is being with friends, talking, and playing video games together. I make sure my friends are happy with what we're doing because it's not enjoyable if they're uncomfortable and bored. Seeing the people I care about not have fun can be demotivating, so I want to make sure they are happy before I am. My friend's happiness is my happiness and that's where my joy comes from.
Everyone has their version of what joy is, but at the end of the day, it's technically the same as we find some sort of happiness to make us feel better. Other people having fun is what joy for me and I'll be sure to help those around me to keep the exhilaration. I find joy in others being happy and although we may face negative situations, I will make sure to help people, especially my friends who've helped me the past few years with personal problems.
Lo Easton's “Wrong Answers Only” Scholarship
I'm awesome of course! Who doesn't want to reward me, the amazing Ailynn Jones, with a scholarship that can either support my college tuition or empty snack cabinet?
My goal in life is to dominate this world with my crazy imagination and ideas. Everyone will know my name through my art or possibly me just taking all of the spicy chips from around the world.
I face many obstacles, but the biggest one I've faced was whenever I had to decide what Pop figure to get at the mall. At the end of the day, I walked out of the mall empty-handed.
Bold Art Scholarship
Art is an important aspect in life that helps stimulate artists to continue making the world more captivating. There are many traditional and digital drawings, paintings, sculptures, and more that inspire many people to explore their imagination. I get that there are people who love old paintings from prominent artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso, however, I'm a fan of much modern art which I believe should get as much attention as well.
OMOCAT is an online illustrator and game director who's famous for creating a video game in 2020 called "Omori" and having a successful online shop. She's not perfect as she faced backlash for delaying and not responding to fans who were looking forward to the game "Omori" since 2014, where she initiated a Kickstarter. Nonetheless, her art is amazing and inspirational to me.
One of my favorite pieces of art from OMOCAT is a panel from her 2013 comic called "Omori's Story", where the main character is enjoying his time with his friends. The art is beautifully colorful and expresses the insanity one's mind can create. Without knowing the story, one may think it's too convoluted and childish, but the story helps establish the art. A boy is trying to suppress his feelings after his sister's death by trapping himself in his mind and creating his happiness.
I've read the webcomic and played the game and it helped me and other artists create and expand on the already established story. OMOCAT's art helped me branch out more on character designs and background creativity. I'm motivated to keep drawing and animating. I want to also make art that helps motivate others and help show representation to struggling minority groups. My ambitions are here thanks to OMOCAT and her creative, artistic skills.
Bold Equality Scholarship
The past few years have been a showcase of power struggles between many different societal groups, ranging from race, sexuality, gender, religion, and nationality. I'm on social media every day, posting my art and looking through posts from people I follow. It's amazing to see original characters and stories that represent equality for people of all races, sexualities, and more. Although controversial, BLM is said to be a movement, not an organization, that calls for equality for people of color and other minor races, specifically in the United States. There are also shows that I like such as "The Owl House" and "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" that has great LGBTQ+ representation and an amazing story that keeps watchers wanting more. Sadly, "The Owl House" isn't getting a season 3, which many fans were upset about this executive decision because this was the first Disney show to have a canonical bisexual main character who later gets a lesbian girlfriend. To support equality and diversity, I want to improve my art and animation skills and learn how to do coding for video games. I plan to create an animated series and possibly a video game that has a vast amount of characters who can represent different groups. I want to showcase that "different" people are still humans and we should have been treated equally. I understand that there will always be inequality in the world, especially with many international problems arising such as Muslim and Asian hate, but I still want to try my best to represent oppressed minority groups.
Bold Books Scholarship
There are many amazing books around the world that I would love to read one day. Although I do enjoy fictional stories more than nonfiction ones, that doesn't mean the nonfiction stories are bad. I've read mystery novels, real-world news articles, diaries accounting events from decades ago, and more, but there are certain books that I will always love because of how much in inspired my life.
Book one from the Warriors: The New Prophecy series is called "Midnight" and it was the first book I've read from the Warriors franchise. The writing, characters, storyline, and the vast opening of the fictional world was the reason why I continued reading the series and even other series from the novel franchise. The more I've read, the more interesting the story became and it soon inspired me to write short stories in my free time. I still have problems writing, but because I practiced writing fictional stories to expand my creativity, it allowed me to write essays efficiently in a short amount of time for school. AP English wasn't an easy class and having to do multiple choice questions and 3 essays were rough, but I managed to pass with a 4 because of practice my writing.
I highly recommend checking out the Warriors series because the story is great and has a lot of suspense that will draw the readers back to it. The series garnered a large fan base on the internet and it has helped many expand their creativity. The series helped me with my writing skills and I will forever remember the book "Midnight" as one of the first books from Warriors that helped me with my creative writing.
Hobbies Matter
There are many hobbies I enjoy that keep me going in life. I enjoy tennis, watching YouTube, playing video games, writing, and talking to friends. However, one of my overall favorite hobbies is doing digital art. Drawing has always been a haven for me where I can vent and express my imagination. I always thought about making my animated series in hopes to expand my creativity and have representation in my show.
Back in fourth grade, I would draw and write comics that people would read to see how the story would turn out. Years after trying to improve in my art, I turned towards digital art to work more towards my creative path. I would frequently work on drawings and animations and would slowly see progress. I still have a lot to work on and am finding art tips that can help me improve. I hope to one day get comfortable with my art to create an animated series and do digital art for a video game.
Whenever I feel sad or inspired, I would turn to art to draw, whether it's digital art or traditional art. Art may be a hobby for me, but I do wish to continue with art as I grow up so that I can express my art to a large audience and give representation to minority groups around the world. I would love to learn about different cultures, languages, and international conflicts and establish it in my art so people can know what's going on, but also enjoy the art they're looking at. The main premise of my animated series is to show people what's going on in the world and give some sort of light to those who feel as if they're being oppressed in society. Everyone should feel as if they belong in a community, so I'm determined to turn my hobby into a career and hope for others who see it.
I enjoy all of the hobbies I do, but art is my passion in life. I love to communicate many messages, whether it's my thoughts or real-world events, through my art. Digital art and animation not only have helped me expand my imagination, but also expand academically as I was able to learn how to write to create stories for my art. With my art, I do hope to be some sort of inspiration, motivation, and education for everyone.
Bold Mentor Scholarship
My biggest hope for my career is to create an animated series and a video game that has an intriguing storyline that draws in the audience who wants more, as well as show representation for minority groups such as LGBTQ+, people of color, and other religious groups besides Christianity. As I pursue the creative path, I want to inspire people to keep drawing and be motivation for them. Whenever someone is going through a hard time, I want to be there to give them hope and show them there are people here for them. By creating a possible show and video game people might be interested in, I hope to draw a big audience who will fight for others' rights and well-being. I want to teach people how to show hospitality to the unfortunate ones and inspire artists to keep drawing if they're passionate about art. For artists and content creators, going through burnout is the worst feeling ever because it makes a person less productive. I'll try to find ways to help people get through burnout, find easy ways to create art and give them hope for the future.
Abby's First-Generation College Student Scholarship
For years I've dealt with personal issues that would bring me to dark places and make me think negatively about life. As of now, this is my fourth year doing tennis. The first time I've done tennis, my coach was my eighth grade teacher and after that, he gave his coaching position to my now recent tennis coach. It was sad to see him not coach the team, but it was because he got promoted as a teacher in a different city and he promise to come to see a few of our matches, so I respected his decision. However, tragedy struck almost a year ago that would leave a scar on its tennis team and those close.
In March of 2021, my previous tennis coach was found dead in a river. Some people suspected it to be suicide, some think it was an accident, and others think it was a murder. Either way, it was sad to see the person who got me into tennis go at such a young age. It was even worse to go to his funeral and see the graduated tennis players and most of our town's community there. After that, I was overwhelmed with people talking about his death because it was sad to hear the guy who taught you math and tennis die. Most of the tennis team that knew him had a gloomy aura around them for a few weeks, but we had to keep going.
I remember having a tennis match a week after his death and my coach today told me our previous coach was supposed to come to that game or another game afterward. It's still sad to talk about, but I ultimately decided to change my mood and keep going forward to become one of the best tennis players for my former coach's sake. The same year he died, my former friend and I won all of our matches during the regular season. We were ranked number one in our region and number eight at state. We were semi-finalists at the regional tournament and even our opponent's coach was proud of me and my partner. We didn't win the first round at the state tournament and nobody was in a good mood after that, but I did my best for the tennis team and my first tennis coach. No matter what happens, I'll keep trying until I'm at my limit and I'll make sure to become one of the best.
From time to time, my coach would bring up our former coach and talk about things he said before his passing. It's still sad to remember the guy, who our town loved, who die from drowning at the age of 34. It's an upsetting situation to be in and my old tennis partner isn't my friend anymore, so things are pretty awkward. However, I'll look past the problems and win all the matches I can. I will honor my former coach and I will forever keep his family and our tennis family in my heart.
Bold Technology Matters Scholarship
One technology I am very passionate about is the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24. It is a drawing tablet with a 24-inch screen with many different features that make it much better than other drawing tablets from Wacom or other company's. I am a passionate digital artist who is looking for ways to improve more in my art and animations so that one day I can depend on my art and show a positive message from it. There are a lot of drawing tablets that can help artists and the Wacom Cintiq Pro does come with a 16 inch, 24 inches, or 32-inch screen. The 24-inch screen tablet is already big and has a lot of space for an artist to draw their art and have no problems rendering it. Although artists can find other tablets that are cheaper and possibly has more flexible functions, the Cintiq Pro is a great tablet for those who want a large screen with many great buttons to help them.
The Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 has a 4K resolution, an etched glass screen, back legs to support the tilt of the tablet, and a functional express key remote that can help digital artists draw while taking shortcuts. The remote is magnetic and can stick to the side of the drawing tablet or beside the artist. It has a customizable feature that allows people to change buttons to fit their liking, which is great for those who have specific ways of drawing and using shortcuts. There is also a pen that comes with the tablet which has a good pressure level, smooth lines, no lag, no parallax, and a 60 degree tilt recognition. There are other resources to get to with the tablet such as an adjustable stand and an artist glove for those who rest their hand on the tablet's screen. There are issues with the tablet, as the etched glass makes the drawing a bit darker than what the colors are, does not have a built-in stand, and wires that can be tangled up instead of a Bluetooth feature. It is also quite expensive, especially if a person wants the stand for the tablet, which adds a lot more to the price. Overall, I do think the tablet is great with amazing functions to help the artist and the drawing.
I do think it would be nice to own the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24, but other drawing tablets work considerably well and are not as expensive as the Cintiq Pro. It is something to get after college because of how big the tablet is and how expensive it can be. However, I do think it has great functions and an amazing screen resolution that helps with the quality of a drawing.
BJB Scholarship
Having friends and family close to you is what makes a warm home. Being at home, where you can relate, hang out, and enjoy your time with those closest to you, is what makes a community. Community is where people can help one another with personal issues and validate their identity, no matter what they are. Being with my family is great, but I mostly feel comfortable around my real life and online friends because I feel as if I can be my normal self around them. For many years I've struggled with personal problems that would bring me to many low points in life, but I am grateful to still be here because I had the help of my friends to guide me out of a dark time. The community I am a part of makes me happy because I get to play many games with my friends and joke around with them for many hours when we hang out together. A way I want to give back to my friends is by making them gifts and helping them through any issue they may deal with. I know there's a limited amount of things I can do to help my friends. There may be problems they have to deal with that will be hard to help. However, I will try my best to help my friends because the ones I have now have stayed with me and have given me the motivation to continue with my hobbies and life.
I am Ailynn Jones, someone who resides in a small town in Louisiana. Whenever I'm online, talking to my friends, I am referred to as Mythy with any pronouns and I can be myself with them. Since I was younger, I have been fascinated with drawing and writing adventurous stories. As it's my last year at high school and I am going to be going to college in a few months, I am looking for ways to expand my creativity that can financially benefit me and can spread a positive message to many people of all ages around the world. I am going to college to pursue a bachelor's degree in computer art and animation. I am self-taught with art, but computer arts are different from traditional or 2D art. I also plan to go for a minor, but I am still debating on which minor to take during college. After school, I plan to expand the story I have now that can suit the audience and gather their attention with a well-written storyline. The premise of my animated series will show the positive representation of the LGBTQ+ community, equal rights for everyone of different races, and a well understanding of different religions. I am also planning on taking an online course to get a certificate or associate's degree in video game programming. All of this will take money and patience, but I am willing to go forward with my creative dream to show the positives of some societal groups.
Ron Johnston Student Athlete Scholarship
Everyone has someone special in their life that helps them with any type of problem, whether that be personal issues, self-identity, hobbies, or anything else. My biggest inspiration has always been my friends; people from my school and people online. I enjoy the constructive criticism, feedback, and compliments I receive on my art, which drives me to create more art. I am grateful for everything my friends helped me with, which is why they will always be the biggest inspirations in my life.
The only real-life friend that stayed with me throughout high school has helped me with a lot, from personal struggles to even boredom. She always had some interesting story to tell me about her family and whenever I have a personal matter, she's willing to hear me out and make me feel better. We both would sometimes get teased at school because people would assume we're dating, even though we're not. We would hang out a lot and even go out of town to stay with my sister since my sister and my friend's brother are dating. Even with old drama that I and my friend have dealt with, I am grateful to still have them and I am also grateful to gain more friends online.
The biggest help has always been from my online friends, who would be on social media for most of the day. Some of my online friends are from different countries, and even tho it's hard to talk to them in the morning while it's nighttime for them, we would always find ways to communicate. I had several issues with some online friends before, but I am glad to have a few of them who stuck with me through my toughest times and continue to love me. I met some of the most amazing people there. Even if my mother called them fake friends, they're still real and cool friends to have. It's nice to text them, sometimes call when I'm not afraid, and play so many games with them. I always enjoyed my time with all my friends and I am truly glad they stuck with me whenever I was going through a tough time and would exclude myself from them.
With having cool real-life and online friends, I was able to express myself and do the things I love doing. They would always compliment my art and would give me the motivation to keep going. I can proudly say that I'm an asexual and bisexual person who identifies as an agender. I get to have fun playing video games during my free time and it's all thanks to my friends. My friends from all around the world have given me hope and inspiration to continue going on in life and do the things I love doing the most.
Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
Something I've learned in life is that everyone will have a certain belief that can dictate how their lives play out. As someone who grew up in a religious, Christian family, I always looked forward to going to church and learning more about Christianity. However, that all changed when tragedy struck me and my family.
One day, my mom, brother, and I left the church during a sermon because there were a few older people who was being racist to my family and was criticizing my mom. After we left the church, I stopped caring about it and would be awkward when we went looking for a new church. We eventually found a good church that knew and accepted my family, but that never changed my opinion on churches. I'm still a Christian and I think going to church is important in Christianity, but my old church's actions stuck with me. After attending an English AP class and joining a certain online fandom, I taught myself to understand and acknowledge other religions. There are people out there who criticize others based on their religion, but I think it's important to accept others and their religion, as long as it's not harming others.
Satanism has always had a bad description from the public, but an online friend of mine taught me that it was a mixture of Christianity and atheism. Also, some Satanists believe in the bible or don't exactly align with its rules. Any religion has the right to its belief, whether it's Muslims, Buddhists, or even non-believers like atheists. We need to learn about other religions and allow them to practice peacefully among us. Our religion and identity shouldn't subject us to any ridicule and nobody should harm others because of it.
Bold Career Goals Scholarship
Whenever I was ten years old, I would draw and write short comics and let a few of my classmates read my work. Steadily, when I grew up I would practice traditional art, mainly in an anime style, and let my old friends look at them. Nowadays, I draw and animate via iPad and post my art online like Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Wattpad. My dream for my future career is to improve in my art so that I can create an animated series with a vast variety of characters that represent certain groups such as the LGBTQ+ community and different races. I also want to learn how to do game programming or at least find people who can code to create a few video games. The main purpose of my creations is to show the representation of minority groups as well as having a really good setting and story that draws in a big audience. I want my animations and video games to stir up the conversation of how differences create how we are and we should just accept people no matter what their differences are, as long as their views and beliefs are hurting anyone.

Bold Fuel Your Life Scholarship
For a long time, my friends have always been a great source of motivation, as well as positivity and joy for me. Whenever I feel down, my real-life friend and online friends have been by my side to make sure I'm doing good. I will always check up on them too because they mean so much to me and I want to help them through anything that bothers them. Whenever I hang out with my real-life friend, we would usually play tennis together or play video games. And although we both may be good at tennis, we are completely incompatible as neither of us knows which one should hit the ball down the middle. As for my online friends, we would sometimes call and play video games together. Thanks to them, I was able to get comfortable talking on the phone because I would get nervous about talking. My friends also know that I do art as a hobby and most of them want to see it compliments my art, which gives me more motivation as lately I haven't been drawing due to lack of motivation. My friends also support me in pursuing an art career, which makes me happy and I do appreciate their support. While I'm improving with my art, I want to also make sure I can support my friends with whatever they need or go for.
Bold Reflection Scholarship
Life has been a rollercoaster for me; it has its ups and it has its downs. So far I can say that things are pretty calm besides having to deal with a few dual enrollment classes that are a bit challenging. I am also trying to work forward to taking two CLEP exams because I want to take any opportunity to help advance through the semesters in college. Besides figuring out what to do with my classes, my mental health hasn't been too much of an issue and I luckily have great friends, those who are mainly online, who's been helping me through a lot. Lately, I have been feeling passionate about pursuing my career in art. I've been nervous about dealing with college financially and scholarly, but I am determined to get a bachelor's in visual arts. During college, I want to open art commissions and possibly open up an online shop that sells stickers and keychains featuring my art. Doing this can show a large audience my art style and also help me with money issues I may run into during school. I am hoping for a good time while attending college with little to no problems to deal with.
Robert Wechman Mental Health Scholarship
To start, I have never been officially diagnosed with any mental illness such as depression or anxiety or anything that can greatly impact one's life. Although self-diagnosing can be very controversial, I feel as if there can be a good side to it because a person knows themselves better than anyone else. For many years I have struggled with many different personal matters that resulted in a horrible sleep schedule, missing out on many meals, and even self inflictions, I plan to one day see a doctor because I am finally an adult and it has always been hard for me to depend on others to help, but I am looking for ways to help my mental state so I can pursue my dreams of art.
As someone who's half black, half Asian, bisexual/asexual, and agender who uses any pronouns, it has been hard to keep that information from my family who thinks same-sex couples are okay but gross. Even growing up as a Christian, I was told how it's a sin to be in a same-sex relationship, but I was also told to love my neighbors. Taking my identity and religious beliefs, I decided to be myself and accept people for who they are no matter if it's argued to be a sin or not. With so much hate in the world, we need to start accepting people for who they are and I'm glad I have supportive friends who accept my identity. I'm working forward to creating an animated series with a very diverse cast of characters to show representation, ranging from different sexualities, genders, religions, and nationalities. These types of topics can be controversial, but showing good representation is important, especially for these communities that experience negativity.
I spend a lot of time on social media because many of my friends are online, from different states or countries. Rather it is scrolling through Instagram or talking to my friends, I've noticed that there are people who fake their mental illness or others who criticize those who have a mental illness. I have many friends who are dealing with a lot of issues because of their identity and it sickens me to see that people can treat others with malice. I want to seek help, but also reach out to those who also need helps. I want to be a person who shows the positive side of a community and gives a helping hand to those in need. It's important to take mental health seriously instead of taunting people who are falling down an endless pit of misery. For many years, my friends and I have experienced bullying because of our identity or ethnicity and I want to find a way to cease the senseless bullying.
Not everyone can open up easily about their struggles. For six years now, I kept my issues to myself or to close friends, and having to deal with gender identity for a while didn't help either. I'm lucky enough to have supportive friends and I want to find ways to give back to my friends and also help others. Mental health needs to be taken seriously because it can affect people for possibly a long time. As someone who dealt with issues, I can vouch for those who feel empty or upset randomly and so I want to be there for them and even spread positivity to help the younger generation as well.
Bold Meaning of Life Scholarship
The meaning the life is living the life you're given, going through hardships, and doing the things that make your life unique and fun. We're all given a chance at life and most of us who aren't born lucky will go through tough times. There are different ways to get past the horrible times, but sometimes we summit to the negative feelings because we may not have people to talk to or we feel a sense of hopelessness. I've been through a lot of issues the past few years involving friends, family, health, and a lot of other personal issues. A lot of times I thought about giving up, but I didn't because there are people here for me. If things aren't bad, I will continue to go forward and strive to achieve my goals in expressing my creativity, making an animated series, and possibly video games. I will probably run into some trouble while trying to reach those goals, but I'll keep my chin up and will accomplish my dreams no matter what because ambition is what helps us people continue to go forward in life.
Graduate Debt-Free Scholarship
My name is Ailynn Jones and I am from a small, but a rowdy town in Louisiana. While growing up, I've played many sports such as softball, basketball, track and field, and tennis. Out of all those sports listed, I enjoy tennis and I plan to pass the first round at the state tournament, but I'll have to work hard this year to leave my last year of high school with a bang. While sports may be exciting and challenging, I want to take the creative path in life and find ways for my art to help me through college.
Back in fourth grade, I would draw and write short comics, but only until eighth grade did I start drawing and animating digitally. Since then, I have been finding ways to improve in my art, which is why I'm going to major in visual arts with a concentration in computer art and animation. Computer animation is different from what I've been doing, which is 2D animation, but I am determined to learn new skills to help with my future goals. I want to make my own animation series and possibly a few video games. College is a way to help me with those goals, but it also comes with a price. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a well-known college and it's not that cheap. However, I do have ways to avoid college debt as best as I possibly can.
Right now I have some money saved from cleaning my sister's house, but it's not nearly enough for me to make it through college. After graduating high school, I plan to move to Lafayette to live with my other sister and find a job there before going to college. While I take on a job, I want to also do art commissions and possibly open up an online shop to help with college more. I'll have to manage my time though and learn how to do packaging before starting a shop, but I would love to create a shop featuring my artistic skills. If I need to get money, I'll try applying for student loans, but I will be cautious as to not become in debt through loans. I will probably have to pay for college afterward too, but I will try my best to find ways that can help me combat student debt and this scholarship is one of the ways.
I buy a lot of materialistic items and snacks, but I'm going to start saving up for college and try to only spend money on art supplies and food. I will probably need some sort of transportation too, but I'm not too worried about getting a car because I get nervous while driving and I can save a little more money if I don't get one. Going to college can be fun because it's a new life for students like me, but things like student debt are worrisome and I will try my best to not fall into debt.
New Year, New Opportunity Scholarship
I am Ailynn Jones, but I also call myself Mythy online. I'm a typical artist who sits in front of their computer screen all day either drawing, playing video games, or watching youtube. I was lucky enough to keep one friend in high school, but I also made some online friends who are weird, but overall amazing. As someone who's lazy, I do play tennis and I'm surprisingly good at it. I can be mean at times, but I do try to be kind, supportive, and inspiring. One day I wish to make my own animated series and video game with the help of my friend's support!
Bold Loving Others Scholarship
There are people in the world who feel as if they're not loved. Sometimes I feel the same way because my mind likes to self-loathe, but I know some people love and care about me, so I want to return the favor. Even with the smallest gifts to give, I will always try to express that I do love the people around me, like my real-life friend, online friends, and family.
There's a saying that money can't buy happiness and, to a certain extent, it's true. I try my best to buy presents that my friends and family would like and I'd gift the presents to them. For online friends, I will spend time talking to them and sometimes draw them gifts because most of my friends love my drawings. Whenever I notice something wrong, I will try my best to be there for them, talk and help them through any problems they're dealing with because I understand that life can be hard. Everyone deserves to have someone to talk to about anything and I will try my best to be that person because everyone needs love and support.
I can be mean sometimes, but I do try my best to be passionate and supportive to my friends and family. I may not have the best advice, but it's better than nothing. I don't care what background the person is from or what has happened between us, I will always try my best to be there to help in case any problems appear.
Bold Great Books Scholarship
Many books are interesting to me. I mainly enjoy books that have a storyline that makes the reader feel as if they're a part of the story itself. Mainly fictional stories do that for me, but there are also nonfictional stories that are well written that make the reader feel as if they're experiencing what is being described. Although one of my favorite books is a comic book, everything about it is enjoyable and can be read by anyone of all ages.
Written by Pat and Jen and illustrated by Dani Jones, my favorite book is "PopularMMOs Presents Zombies' Day Off", the third book of their series. Pat and Jen are YouTubers from their well-known channels: PopularMMOs and GamingWithJen. Their book is not like a typical high school book where all the pages are full of convoluted words, but it's a book with an interesting storyline, cool and well-developed characters, and an ending that would bring the readers back to know what will happen next. Many books have inspired me to expand my creativity, not only in drawings but short stories as well. "Zombies' Day Off" is a perfect example of good writing that leans towards a vast age range of kids to adults. I bought all of their books because I am a fan of their work, as well as my liking for the storyline.
People have the right to like certain books with different writing styles and ideas for the stories. I'm a fan of books with great stories, even if they're comic books. Not many people read in general, but I am willing to buy and spend time reading if the writers put the effort into the story and characters because character development is important as well.
Terry Crews "Creative Courage" Scholarship
Since the fourth grade, I've always had a creative imagination. I would draw and write short comics and my classmates would enjoy the stories I made. Back in 2018, I started to draw and animate digital artwork and would steadily improve over time as I practiced every day. I intend on going to school for computer animation to learn 3D animation and graphic design because I dream to make an animated series and possibly a video game. Although I enjoy 2D animation more than 3D, I won't mind trying out other forms of animation to pursue my dream. Drawing has always been a haven for me whenever I'm at my lowest point in life. I love to express my thoughts and feelings in my art and I try to improve more because there are people online who adore my art, which gives me more hope and motivation to keep going forward.
Bold Books Scholarship
There are many amazing books around the world that I would love to read one day. Although I do enjoy fictional stories more than nonfiction ones, that doesn't mean the nonfiction stories are bad. I've read mystery novels, real world news articles, diaries accounting events from decades ago, and more, but there are certain books that I will always love because of how much in inspired my life.
Book one from the Warriors: The New Prophecy series is called "Midnight" and it was the first book I've read from the Warriors franchise. The writing, characters, story line, and the vast opening of the fictional world was the reason why I continued reading the series and even other series from the novel franchise. The more I've read, the more interesting the story became and it soon inspired me to write short stories in my free time. I still have problems writing, but because I practiced writing fictional stories to expand my own creativity, it allowed me to write essays efficiently in a short amount of time for school. AP English wasn't an easy class and having to do multiple choice questions and 3 essays was rough, but I managed to pass with a 4 because of practice my writing.
Normandie Cormier Greater is Now Scholarship
Everyone has dealt with some form of adversity in their life, rather that be mental struggles, grades, family issues, or something entirely personal. I would always maintain good or decent grades throughout school, but I have dealt with many issues throughout the years that would negatively impact my attitude towards certain situations. Although life can be tough, I know there will always be something good to come out of the hard work you put, so I always will try my best to help myself.
Before entering high school, I had a lot personal problems to handle because I was feeling left out from the only few friends I had. As years go by, my mental stability would stagger, but I taught myself that life is unfair and I must make use of the people who chooses to stay with me. In my senior year, I managed to keep one good friend for school, but I also made a couple of friends online. Social medias has always been a safe haven for me as I got to express my feelings through words or art. I found many people who adored my drawings and animations, which made me feel better about myself. I do have a long way to go before wanting to be a professional animator and with school interfering with my life, I hardly have time to draw. Before turning 18, I had a rough year. I never went to a doctor to get treatment because I would tell myself that putting my personal struggles onto others will just make me a burden to them. At one of the lowest points of my life, I felt like giving up, but I luckily had friends who helped me, listen to my struggles, and comforted me. That help had strengthened my friend group online, as well as taught me that there will always be people willing to listen to your struggles. I learned that I have to take things slow, calm myself, and think rationally in order to get through a problem.
I have little to no motivation for drawing, but after talking and hanging out with friends, I'm slowing regaining motivation and my creativity. I'm determined to go to college to pursue my dream of creating an animated series and possibly make some video games. I know there are a lot of things I'll have to learn before doing both, but thanks to my friends, I will try my best to reach my dream without any personal struggles getting to me.
Devin Chase Vancil Art and Music Scholarship
Art comes with time, patience, motivation, and experience, but for some artists motivation isn't their strongest subject. I am Ailynn Jones, a small artist who's inspired to look for ways to expand my imagination. From drawings to writings to video games, I want to create my own story and display it! I grew up in a small city where it was pretty easy for classmates to figure out that I draw and animate, but even through the embarrassment, I'll still keep pushing on. At times I may lack motivation, but that doesn't stop me from thinking of many art ideas.
I've always admired different types of art, rather that be digital art, video editing, paintings, sculpting, music, tattoos, and even vandalism. Art and music is important because it provides entertainment for people around the world and even gives them inspiration to present their own art. Art is a way for the artist themselves to communicate their own thoughts and feelings, rather that be to themselves or publicly. Same thing applies to music and both, art and music, can greatly influence the opinions of the public. It helps people understand different perspectives and view points. Without art, people will have a hard time expressing their own feelings to those around them, which is why different types of genre exist in music, like love songs and depressing ones too.
As a digital artist myself, it is important for those in the creative art field to take breaks once and a while and explore different tools that can help improve their art. Burnout can destroy an artist's motivation and working through a burnout can make the final project not turn out pleasing. It's nice to please people with art and music, impacting their emotions and opinions, but it's also important for artists to take a break and regain their energy.
Bold Investing Scholarship
I should never compare myself, rather that be with grades, sports, or art, to others. It's common for people to compare themselves to others in different situations. I'm a person who use to compare grades and sport skills to classmates and even friends. Lately, I've been teaching myself to work at my own pace and enjoy the work I do instead of having to worry. Occasionally I would catch other classmates trying to compare their grades to mine and sometimes they would boast about their grade. I would congratulate them because it's good to have great grades, but I would not give my own time if all they'll do is boast and talk about themselves. I'm here to give people passion and motivation instead of comparing myself to them to make them feel bad. People should learn that we all work at our own pace and we all have something we're good at, so we should avoid comparing ourselves.
Bold Independence Scholarship
Typically, independent means to be free and dependent on one's self. For me, independent means to be self reliant and thrive through life living by one's own thoughts, beliefs, and passion without anyone negatively impacting the end goal. I am socially awkward and don't like talking and asking for help unless I'm feeling really confident, but if it's something important such as standing up for my own beliefs then I will speak up. I want to live my life as free as possible while expanding by creativity through art, writings, and video games. It's important to have someone you trust near you who can support your dreams, which is why I have an amazing best friend and even cool online friends. If someone is following someone else's passion and they feel unhappy, then I feel as if that's not being independent because people should do things they like that doesn't result in themselves or other's getting hurt badly. I'm able to be myself, love who I want, while also enjoying the things I love, which is what being independent means to me.
